Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

”What skill do you want to test?”

The researcher’s expression changed slightly, but he wasn’t too nervous. The surrounding combat personnel gave him ample confidence.

”Actually, I don’t know either. I only know its name is Purification.”

Lin Ye was just about to act when he sensed something passing through the portal behind him.

He turned around and found it was a colored eyeball of a giant monster.

Threads of web-like plants were connected behind the eyeball, linking it to the other side of the portal.

”How did you get the eyeball out? Which side is actually in control?”

Lin Ye asked curiously.

The eyeball didn’t answer, just kept rotating to observe the surroundings.

”What is that?”The researcher frowned at the eyeball, considering whether to order the combat personnel to attack immediately.

”Parasitic plants that have infected the entire insect race, or a giant monster that devoured the entire Savage insect totem parasite race. Which do you think is better?”

Lin Ye asked with a smile.

As they spoke:

An eyeball passed through the portal.

A brain passed through the portal.

A tongue passed through the portal.

A bone passed through the portal.

...

The colored giant monster had split itself into various parts, connected by web-like plants. Within seconds, all these parts had passed through the portal and reassembled on this side, as smooth as liquid.

A colored giant monster appeared beside the portal.

”We have merged, so I am both the plant and the giant monster. You are my target, but before that, I need to clean up the bugs around here. You don’t mind, do you?”

The colored giant monster spoke.

Dealing with Lin Ye wouldn’t be easy; it was best to clear the battlefield before the fight.

”Of course, but I need to use them to test my skill. Let’s do it together.”

Lin Ye sat sideways on the tendril monster, which carried him toward the nearby research facility.

”Attack, eliminate them. Try to capture them alive if possible.”

The researcher turned and left, instructing the combat captain beside him.

The colored giant monster spewed grayish-white gas around. Lin Ye filtered the air with his spiritual energy shield. The surrounding combat personnel put on masks and began firing at them.

Most of the firepower concentrated on the colored giant monster, instantly shredding its flesh.

Lin Ye watched this scene speechlessly. Their firepower couldn’t even penetrate his spiritual energy shield, let alone the astonishingly defensive colored giant monster.

The gunfire didn’t last long. Although those combat personnel wore breathing filters, their clothing couldn’t block the parasitic plant spores.

Web-like plants grew rapidly inside those combat personnel. The colored giant monster soon gained a batch of combat personnel offspring with web-like plants growing on their bodies.

Under its command, these combat personnel began spreading throughout the entire research base. Soon, they started exchanging fire with the remaining combat personnel in the base.

The web-like plant offspring could also release spores. Although these spores weren’t as effective as those from the parent body, they could still infect nearby combat personnel.

”Now it’s ready. Are you prepared to become my offspring?”

The colored giant monster turned its head to look at Lin Ye.

”...Don’t you feel anything?”

Lin Ye had already used his Special Ability:

Purification.

Colored light flickered within the colored giant monster’s body. Its form gradually became transparent and dissolved. The entire world became exceptionally quiet, like being at the deepest ocean floor.

Blurred light and shadows flickered in Lin Ye’s eyes. The colored giant monster transformed into numerous colored, transparent jellyfish drifting in the deep sea.

The tendril monster also dissolved into a pale red jellyfish, carrying Lin Ye as it swam through the research base. No sound could be heard around, only dazzling, brilliant colors.

Jellyfish of various colors swam everywhere in the base. Lin Ye relaxed his body, a rare feeling, letting himself drift with the current.

He didn’t know how much time had passed. When Lin Ye regained his senses, he was back at the previous location where the tendril monster had been. Everything that just happened felt like a dazzling, fantastical dream.

But the completely empty research base told Lin Ye that something had indeed just occurred.

The portal had completely disappeared. Lin Ye strolled through the deserted research base. The base retained some colored traces, like vague graffiti of some kind.

This was the first time Lin Ye encountered such a destructive Special Ability that required absolutely no thought and could be used directly.

”...That was actually quite exhilarating. I hope it happens often in the future.”

The research equipment in the base had security measures. The people who could bypass those measures were no longer here, so Lin Ye had no choice but to destroy the research equipment.

However, Lin Ye collected some paper research materials, planning to study them when he had time later.

After dealing with the research base, Lin Ye returned to the Shelter with all the loot.

…………………………………………………

”Sir, the research base has lost contact. We discovered several creatures parasitized by some kind of web-like plant nearby.”

”What do the investigators say?”

”The investigators say the research base is unusually ’clean.’ Apart from some destroyed research equipment, they only found some colored traces.”

”What about the portal?”

”It has completely disappeared. However, we have mature technology and can open a new portal anytime, though we’re not sure which Plane it will connect to.”

”Continue the investigation, and research that web-like plant as well.”

”Yes.”

[War Front activity ended. Received Special War Gift Box *1 based on number of enemies eliminated.]

[Please draw today’s card.]

”My turn! Draw a card!”

The card drawn this time depicted a red deer. The card dissipated, and a young deer with reddish fur appeared in the center of the Shelter.

”Yoyo.”

The fawn struggled to move its feet in the center of the Shelter, where the loot from this activity was piled.

”Come over here.”

Lin Ye patted the fawn’s head, which hadn’t grown antlers yet, and carried it to the bed.

”Stay here for a while. I still need to sort through the loot.”

Lin Ye felt a bit of a headache. He had brought back a lot of messy things this time, requiring him to process them bit by bit.

”Yoyo.”

The fawn rolled around on the bed a few times, lying on its back with all four legs up, completely relaxed on the bed.

Looking at the chaotic spiritual energy materials on the flatbed cart, Lin Ye sighed and first opened the War Gift Box.

Same as before, it contained a red-and-black card inside.

[War Machine]

[Randomly draw and obtain one War Machine, and unlock War Machine storage space (1/1)]

[Note: I am war itself, needing no one’s permission (Please use this card in a space with sufficient room, after all, no one knows what might be drawn)]

”...Holy shit?! It couldn’t be a War Machine like the Peace, could it?”

Lin Ye was still at an age prone to fantasies. However, considering the quantity and quality of enemies eliminated in the activity, he felt this War Machine probably wouldn’t be too exaggerated.

’I’ll find a place to use the card tonight.’

Lin Ye put away the card and picked up the pitch-black gift box that was pressed beneath the War Gift Box.

This was probably the return gift from the Abyssal Evil God after the sacrificial ritual.
