Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

While Lin Ye was deep in thought, a sharp tip suddenly approached him rapidly from the distance, aimed directly at his head.

Lin Ye decisively abandoned a newly mutated calf, immediately burning all the blood within the entire calf. The resulting energy propelled him through a hole in the corridor ceiling.

He had previously considered how to deal with encountering these sharp tips again, and this was the solution he had devised. Since he happened to be beneath the hole, he smoothly escaped into the interstitial space.

But Lin Ye didn’t relax his guard. He wasn’t sure whether the sharp tips couldn’t enter the interstitial space or simply couldn’t detect things within it. If it was the latter, the sharp tip might very well pursue him into the interstitial space.

Lin Ye sprinted through the interstitial space. Due to the influence of the rune array, he couldn’t sense the situation below.

The sharp tip didn’t follow him through the hole into the interstitial space. Sensing the situation behind him, Lin Ye ran straight forward.

Given the speed of the sharp tips, constantly changing direction would be meaningless. Moreover, he needed to quickly leave this area to escape the rune array’s influence before his body completely mutated.

Clang!

The sharp tip suddenly pierced through the metal floor, emerging right beneath Lin Ye’s feet. Just before the tip could penetrate his torso, Lin Ye barely managed to activate Blood Burning.

Even though Lin Ye had long been prepared, he couldn’t completely avoid the sharp tip’s attack at such close range. The sharp tip and the explosive force of Blood Burning together tore through Lin Ye’s abdomen. Lin Ye used the mutation rune to forcibly stabilize his injuries while continuously consuming unimportant body parts for Blood Burning to quickly distance himself from the sharp tip.

Each time he used Blood Burning, Lin Ye would change the direction of energy propulsion. This rapid directional shifting proved highly effective, helping him evade several attacks from the sharp tip. But the problem was, his blood was almost completely burned up.

As his body gradually lightened, Lin Ye’s consciousness also began to fade. Finally, he exhausted all body parts that could be used for burning.

A faint whistling sound echoed behind his head. Lin Ye’s vision went dark as he completely lost consciousness.

…………………………………

Lin Ye opened his eyes and removed the helmet from his head. His mental energy had been completely depleted.

”...Can I go read first and come back later to clear the basic combat level?”

This time Lin Ye wasn’t angry. He just sat expressionlessly in his seat.

[Yes]

”Good.”

Lin Ye stood up and left the Combat Guidance Classroom. The combat simulation hadn’t consumed much time—he hadn’t even lasted ten minutes inside—but he needed time to recover his mental energy.

So he planned to finish his proper business first before returning to clear this basic combat level.

He already had some ideas, but those sharp tips were too troublesome.

Lin Ye returned to his dorm and rested for two hours, then went back to the classroom to continue studying. This time the textbook was ”Fundamentals of Spiritual Energy and Mutation.”

It took Lin Ye less than an hour to complete this textbook because he had personally experienced all the knowledge within it.

However, this textbook proved very helpful to Lin Ye. After reading it, he established a complete system for understanding spiritual energy and mutation in his mind.

[Assessment completed, received excellent evaluation, obtained 30 Tower Points]

Lin Ye quickly completed the assessment, once again receiving an excellent evaluation.

Returning to the classroom, Lin Ye picked up the fifth textbook under the despairing gazes of other students.

The title was ”Complete Explanation of Basic Mutation Organ Structures (Part 1).”

This book recorded numerous basic structures of mutation organs, including not only human mutation organs but also those of many other creatures.

Lin Ye rapidly memorized and analyzed various basic mutation organ structures. The book wasn’t particularly thick, but this was only part one of the basic mutation organ structures. To record all basic mutation organ structures, he estimated there would need to be over a hundred such textbooks.

After all, species diversity meant mutation structures were even more diverse.

The editor of this book probably separated it because they feared students would feel too overwhelmed seeing one massive book, or possibly because a complete volume would be too thick to handle comfortably.

The basic structures in the book broadened Lin Ye’s horizons. Many strange structures even exceeded his understanding. After finishing this textbook, he felt an impulse to modify his own body.

Fortunately, his actual body wasn’t here. When he returned to the Shelter, he could experiment with modifying the little dogs instead.

Lin Ye passed the assessment again, achieving an excellent evaluation.

After that, Lin Ye didn’t stop except for eating and recovering mental energy. Fourteen hours later, he completed the remaining five courses.

These five courses were:

”Fundamentals of Spiritual Energy Compression”

”Fundamentals of Spiritual Energy Item Creation”

”Fundamentals of Ritual Studies”

”Gods and Followers”

”Combat Fundamentals”

Lin Ye received excellent evaluations in all five courses. Except for the last course, the others all benefited him greatly.

As for ”Combat Fundamentals,” Lin Ye found the book both tedious and boring. If he didn’t need to pass the exam, he wouldn’t have bothered reading it.

It even contained a section specifically explaining how to determine an enemy’s plane of origin based on their accent to identify their combat system.

Lin Ye scoffed at such highly unreliable information sources. What if there were two planes with similar accents?

’No wonder they designed that kind of basic combat level—it’s a problem with the instructors’ quality.’

Lin Ye felt relieved. He had encountered many unreasonable requirements before, and this was still somewhat better than demanding fresh graduates with over five years of work experience.

[As the first student on this floor to complete basic education with all excellent evaluations, you may ask the Tower one question related to yourself]

”How should I control the things inside my main body?”

Lin Ye asked a somewhat cunning question.

[Please do not ask multiple questions, otherwise questioning privileges will be revoked]

”...How should I control the God’s Blood within my body?”

Lin Ye could only abandon his attempt to kill multiple birds with one stone.

[Please proceed to the special classroom to study special courses]

Following the system’s instructions, Lin Ye found the special classroom. Superficially, the special classroom didn’t differ much from regular classrooms, except it had fewer seats.

Finding a random seat, Lin Ye sat down. A textbook with a black cover appeared on the desk.

The cover was engraved with twisted crimson text:

[God’s Blood and Physical Enhancement]

This book looked very wrong from the start, with all its pages being dark red.

Lin Ye opened the book but found he couldn’t read the text. These characters were similar to runes—they could only be contacted using mental energy.

’Damn, this is too dangerous, isn’t it?’

Lin Ye really didn’t want to use his mental energy to contact such a dangerous book. But if he didn’t learn the knowledge within, he would turn into a fish-head monster.

’No choice but to risk it...’

Lin Ye sighed and began using his mental energy to contact the characters on the red pages.

Faintly, he seemed to hear the sound of ocean waves.
