Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

’Looks like I can’t remain an ordinary person anymore.’

Lin Ye sighed. If possible, he wouldn’t want to mess around with this body either, but there was no choice. If he did nothing, they would all die here.

After entering the mine shaft, Lin Ye repeated his previous actions, not even changing the route he took. However, this time he didn’t dig into that hole, and Leo was still barely alive.

”Hang on a bit longer, I’ll get you some mining rats to eat soon.”

In the previous simulation, while mining, Lin Ye had dug out a mining rat. At that time, the mining rat was gnawing on white ore, and he had also discovered numerous traces of mining rat activity nearby.

This indicated that mining rats likely lived near white ore deposits.

”Boss, but I really can’t hold on anymore...”

Leo fiercely bit his own arm through his clothing. If not for the layer of fabric, he might have torn off a chunk of his own flesh.

”If you can’t hold on, then go die. I can give you a pickaxe strike to help you find release.”

Lin Ye turned to look at Leo, the mining pickaxe in his hand poised and ready.”Ahem, I think I can endure a bit longer after all.”

Leo retreated a step in fear, stopping his arm biting.

”Good.”

Lin Ye continued leading them deeper into the mine shaft.

This time, because Lin Ye had shared information about mining rats and white ore at the nine hundred meter mark, the three D-Class personnel were much more stable than last time.

With Lin Ye guiding them, they smoothly dealt with the Fleshy Monsters encountered along the way, successfully reaching the mine shaft area nine hundred meters beyond the initial mining area.

”Now we can start mining. Find mining rats and hand them to me for processing. Once we’ve dug up ten pieces of white ore, we can head back.”

Lin Ye swung his mining pickaxe and began digging. It only took three minutes for him to excavate his first piece of white ore.

’No choice, ordinary people have their limits.’

Lin Ye used the mining pickaxe to smash the white ore, selected the smallest fragment, and placed it in his mouth.

’...Seems like nothing changed?’

After eating the white ore, Lin Ye didn’t feel any unusual changes in his body.

So Lin Ye ate another fragment of white ore.

He continued like this until he had consumed an entire piece of white ore, at which point his body finally underwent some kind of change.

However, this change wasn’t particularly noticeable. Lin Ye only felt that his body had become somewhat harder.

’That’s it?’

Lin Ye began considering whether he should try some ores of different colors. Although that would be more dangerous, it was still much better than having his head blown off by a long-barreled hunting shotgun.

”Is this a mining rat?”

Neil threw aside his mining pickaxe, grabbed a fat rat the size of a small dog, and ran over to Lin Ye.

Leo and Old Arthur heard the commotion and rushed over as well. They were also nearing their limits.

”Correct. Let me process it, then we can eat it.”

Lin Ye quickly handled the mining rat, dividing the processed rodent into four portions. This time, he didn’t let Leo eat first, instead taking a piece for himself.

He wanted to test whether the large mining rats would prioritize attacking the first person to eat mining rat meat.

After consuming the mining rat, his three teammates’ conditions improved significantly, and Lin Ye focused entirely on mining.

This time, after digging up ten pieces of white ore, Lin Ye didn’t help the others mine. Instead, he continued excavating white ore, gradually eating the extra pieces he collected.

By the time Lin Ye had consumed his seventh piece of white ore, the other three had finally gathered their required amount of white ore.

As he ate more white ore, Lin Ye began sensing a gradually intensifying attraction deep within the mine shaft. If not for his resilient mental fortitude, he might have already recklessly rushed toward the mine’s depths by now.

”Let’s go, we’re heading back. However, those miners outside probably won’t let us leave with the ore. Plus, there are large mining rats to watch for. Be careful of your footing.”

Later, they shared several more small mining rats among themselves. There were indeed many mining rats living near the white ore deposits.

”No problem, they’re just some rats.”

Old Arthur packed the white ore into his prison garb, tying it securely to his body, then gripped a mining pickaxe in each hand.

”Those miners will likely ambush us at the exit point. We need to be prepared.”

Neil copied Old Arthur’s method of carrying the ore on his person, freeing up one hand while allowing unrestricted movement, which was very convenient.

Leo didn’t speak, but he tightened his grip on his mining pickaxe.

Lin Ye led the way upfront. The four moved quickly, having just eaten mining rat meat, they now had abundant physical energy.

After some time, they reached the location where Lin Ye and Old Arthur had been ambushed previously.

The ground shook, but Lin Ye didn’t stop. Instead, he accelerated, expertly locating the miners.

The miner leader threw ore at Lin Ye, who responded by throwing his own ore to deflect the incoming projectiles. Then, just like last time, he leaped over the pile of flesh and organs surging from underground and killed the miner leader with a single pickaxe thrust.

The large mining rat collided with those flesh and organs underground, never even getting a chance to attack Lin Ye.

Having consumed white ore, Lin Ye effortlessly swung his mining pickaxe to kill all the miners. By the time his three teammates caught up, they only saw Lin Ye standing amidst a pile of corpses.

”Let’s go.”

Lin Ye picked up an extra mining pickaxe as backup, planning to immediately throw one at the girl if he encountered her later.

That would at least serve as a distraction.

However, the girl didn’t appear ahead of them like last time. Perhaps because she lacked confidence in her ability to kill Lin Ye, the situation had changed.

With no girl blocking their path, the four smoothly returned to the initial mining area.

Since Lin Ye had killed all the miners, the initial mining area was exceptionally quiet.

Lin Ye led the way upfront. He could roughly guess where the elevator to the upper levels was located.

Soon they found a well-lit mining area. In the center stood a device that looked technologically advanced—this was likely the ore converter the girl had mentioned. The elevator was on the other side of the open space.

Unlike the ore converter, the elevator was much more rudimentary. To be precise, it wasn’t an elevator at all, but a simple lifting apparatus.

The girl sat atop the ore converter, the long-barreled hunting shotgun leaning against one side of the device.

’Sigh, knew I couldn’t avoid this.’

Without wasting words, Lin Ye charged directly toward the girl.

But before he could get close, he felt the ground shaking beneath his feet.

Lin Ye immediately halted his steps and retreated one step diagonally backward.

A two-meter-tall blood-red Flesh Spike pierced through the ground from below. The edge of the spike grazed past and sliced open Lin Ye’s prison uniform. If he hadn’t stopped, he would have been skewered like meat on a stick.

Lin Ye threw his mining pickaxe at the girl. The girl raised her right hand, which had turned into red ore, and a second Flesh Spike erupted from the ground, knocking the mining pickaxe away.

The girl clearly lacked combat experience; otherwise, she wouldn’t have created these vision-blocking Flesh Spikes.

Lin Ye used the Flesh Spike to close the distance, leaping out from behind it to swing his pickaxe at the girl’s head.

The girl remained seated on the ore converter without moving, merely raising her right hand to deflect the pickaxe tip.

Lin Ye allowed the pickaxe to be knocked aside, then exerted force with his left hand, instantly piercing through the girl’s chest.
