Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1138: Chapter 1137: Demon Dragon Palace

The speed of this finger strike was quite fast, almost at the moment the words were spoken, the ghostly finger force shot out violently, shooting directly towards Lin Wan.

Swish!

Lin Wan was prepared, a blue light surged from her body, and a gust of wind sprouted under her feet, lifting her whole body into the air to avoid the finger force emitted by Ling Chen.

However, just as her body shot upward, the ghostly finger force suddenly changed direction, veering towards Lin Wan in the air.

”What?”

Lin Wan was shocked to realize the ingenuity of Ling Chen’s finger, allowing it to change trajectory at any time.

Suddenly, a colorful strange light appeared in her beautiful eyes, and Lin Wan’s delicate body abruptly split into two, leaving only a shadow in her original position.

Pft!

The ghostly finger force pierced through the shadow and shot out. Seeing the finger force pass through, Lin Wan also halted her movement, relaxing her expression.

Just as she was about to speak, Ling Chen suddenly spoke, a smile on his lips as he said, ”Elder Sister Lin, it’s not over yet.”

”Not over yet?”

Lin Wan’s pupils shrank abruptly. The next moment, she felt a chill suddenly coming from behind. Turning around sharply, she saw the ghostly finger force coming at her from behind at an astonishing speed!

The ghostly light in her eyes rapidly enlarged, and Lin Wan’s mouth opened wide, already too late to dodge, the ghostly finger force reached her brow. But just inches away from her brow, with a ”pop,” it suddenly dissipated.

”Phew...”

Letting out a heavy sigh of relief, cold sweat appeared on Lin Wan’s forehead. If Ling Chen hadn’t taken the initiative to disperse the finger force just now, she would have been in big trouble.

However, this indirectly showed that Ling Chen’s mastery of the Thousand-Miles Soulchaser Finger had reached an exceedingly skillful level.

”Ling disciple’s finger technique is truly amazing; as an elder sister, I am truly ashamed.”

Lin Wan smiled at Ling Chen, but in her heart, she was more and more in awe of him, finding him increasingly inscrutable.

”Just a little trick, making Elder Sister laugh. It’s the first time Sister has seen this finger technique, so it’s understandable you were caught off guard.”

Ling Chen chuckled lightly. The power of the Thousand-Miles Soulchaser Finger met his expectations, as it automatically locked onto the target’s aura, unlike the Sword Controlling Technique, which requires manual directional changes, thus saving much effort.

Otherwise, if the Thousand-Miles Soulchaser Finger was less powerful than the Sword Controlling Technique, Ling Chen wouldn’t bother to cultivate such martial arts.

”By the way, Elder Sister Lin, what brings you here this time?”

Ling Chen calmed his breath and asked.

”It’s the Island Master who asked me to inform you about the Secret Treasury trial.”

When talking about serious matters, Lin Wan’s expression became serious, ”The time for this Secret Treasury trial is set for seven days later. The Island Master wants you to prepare well and participate on time.”

”Understood.”

Ling Chen nodded. The last time Saint Purple Heart mentioned the date, it was on the first day of next month, which indeed is seven days from now.

This opportunity for the Secret Treasury trial is rare. To rise unexpectedly at the end of the year’s Nine Schools Tournament, this trial opportunity must be seized.

”Regarding this Secret Treasury trial, does Elder Sister Lin know anything about it, and could you tell me what to watch out for when entering the Secret Treasury?”

Ling Chen couldn’t help but ask.

”I have limited knowledge about the Secret Treasury, but since you asked, I’ll tell you what I know. I hope it helps you.”

Lin Wan gently inclined her head, then said, ”To understand the Secret Treasury trial, you must know the origin of these Secret Treasuries.”

”The Tianyuan Continent has a history of billions of years, and in the eternal river of time, countless heroic figures have been born. There were bloody wartorn dark ages and glorious eras where numerous saints emerged.”

”In the history of the Tianyuan Continent, though Supreme Experts are few, innumerable Saints have been born. Yet now, they are all gone, leaving only relics and Cave Mansions.”

”Some of the known relics have been explored by Supreme Experts and included within the scope of Secret Treasuries.”

”Actually, given the cultivation of a core disciple, even going to a lower-level Secret Treasury to train might be life-threatening. Therefore, the sect selected only the top twenty-four people to participate in the intermediate trial of the Secret Treasury.”

Ling Chen nodded: ”Those going should be the elites among the core disciples, so even if they encounter danger, they will have some self-preserving ability.”

”Yes, this is just a lower-level Secret Treasury. Generally, only elders of the sect will explore intermediate Secret Treasuries, and as for high-level Secret Treasuries, perhaps only the Island Master, Second Elder, and a very few others dare to tread there.”

Lin Wan continued, ”In the Yangzhou Territory, there are only two lower-level Secret Treasuries. One is on land, located in a southwest abyss, named the Demon Dragon Palace. It is said that the Demon Dragon Palace is deep underground and was once the lair of the Azure Water Demon Dragon, which wreaked havoc across Yangzhou.”

”Later, the Azure Water Demon Dragon was slain by the Martial Emperor who personally led an army, and only then did peace return to Yangzhou. However, the Demon Dragon Palace has persisted and is frequently explored by Supreme Experts.”

Ling Chen asked, ”Besides the Demon Dragon Palace, what’s the other low-level Secret Treasury?”

”The other Secret Treasury is on the East Sea Coast, located under the sea at the Azure Water Dragon Palace. It is said that the Azure Water Demon Dragon established a Dragon Palace at the bottom of the East Sea. However, the Azure Water Dragon Palace is wrapped in a Great Formation at its periphery, requiring the combined strength of several Saints to break it.”

Hundreds of years later, many warriors ventured to explore it, but only two or three out of ten who entered could return. The danger level of the Azure Water Dragon Palace far exceeds that of the Demon Dragon Palace.”

”Do you know which Secret Treasury the trial will be held in this time?” Ling Chen asked.

”It shouldn’t be outside of the Demon Dragon Palace. The Azure Water Dragon Palace is too challenging for the younger generation, and the probability of falling is very high. If half of the twenty-four participants come back alive, it would be considered good.”

Lin Wan said without hesitation.

”Entering the Demon Dragon Palace, first, you must be cautious of the restrictions and Exotic Beasts within. Secondly, the utmost vigilance is required for the people in there.”

”Is Elder Sister Lin referring to our sect’s disciples?” Ling Chen raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised.

”You must also guard against our sect’s disciples. After all, you have just joined Lingyue Island. How many of those people can be your friends? On the contrary, your unorthodox entry into the trial list this time has offended many people, and you cannot afford to be unprepared.”

”However, I’m not referring to our sect’s disciples here, but rather to those other Supreme Experts within the Secret Treasury. There are many adventurers and desperados inside, among whom there are some very powerful individuals. But the greatest caution is not for them, but... the disciples of other sects.” Lin Wan’s beautiful eyes brightened slightly as she spoke.

Hearing this, Ling Chen finally showed an expression of sudden realization. Indeed, disciples from other sects could pose the greatest threat to them. For example, the disciples of Desolate Fire City each harbor hostility toward Lingyue Island. If they encounter Desolate Fire City disciples in the Secret Treasury, a bloody fight would be inevitable.
