Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1109: Chapter 1108: Demi-human Factions

Riding the Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat, Ling Chen set out with Lin Wan from Lingyue Island early the next morning, heading towards the Penglai Island Territory.

The Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat was very small, only able to accommodate two people, and if there were one more person, it would likely feel crowded.

Even so, Ling Chen and Lin Wan sat facing each other, which made Lin Wan somewhat awkward, but Ling Chen did not feel this way. He immediately closed his eyes, held his breath, and entered a state of cultivation.

The speed of the Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat was very fast, shuttling through midair, causing an intense friction with the airflow. Fortunately, this Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat was a Sacred Object; otherwise, it could not withstand such severe friction.

Five days later.

After traveling through hundreds of thousands of miles of the sea, Ling Chen and Lin Wan finally arrived within the boundaries of the Penglai Island Territory.

Surrounding this Penglai Island Territory were highly deceptive Array Formations and prohibitions. If one’s strength had not reached the current level, and without a very precise map in hand, Ling Chen likely would not have been able to find the location of this Penglai Island Territory.

The so-called Penglai Island Territory is not actually a continent, a whole entity, but rather composed of one island after another.

Looking down from the sky, the shape of the Penglai Islands resembles a lotus flower, with each island like a lotus seed within the lotus, scattered irregularly.

Just in the core area of this Penglai Island Territory, the number of islands probably exceeds eight hundred, not to mention those islands not in the core area, located in remote sea regions.

In total, the number is likely no less than fifteen hundred.

This is a rather peculiar region, because in this Penglai Island Territory, there is no absolute ruling power, but rather it is governed by a loose Elder Council.

The members of this Elder Council are chosen from each island below Penglai Island Territory based on population ratio. Some large islands may have multiple elders, but even the smallest island, as long as it belongs to Penglai Island Territory, can have a seat in the Elder Council.

In the Tianyuan Continent, which has always adhered to the law of the jungle, this relatively free and democratic form is extremely rare.

From Lin Wan, Ling Chen also learned that the Penglai Island Territory had gathered a large number of loose cultivator warriors, and even many warriors from the Nine Provinces Land traveled across the ocean to come here, hoping to become a part of this Penglai Island Territory.

The cultivation atmosphere here is indeed unprecedented in the Nine Provinces Land.

After arriving over the Penglai Island Territory, Ling Chen slowed the speed of the Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat and lowered the flight altitude, preparing to find a place to land.

Their destination for this trip was an island called Lotus Island, which was the source of the Cold Condensing Pearl information and also the headquarters of the East Sea Chamber of Commerce.

However, just as the Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat was descending, beneath the sea, large python-like tails swayed left and right, and pairs of blood-red eyes emerged within the sea.

”Hmm?”

Ling Chen’s perception was incredibly sharp; the commotion below the sea was also noticed by him, could it be some lurking sea beast?

Crash!

Just as Ling Chen was becoming alert, the sea surface suddenly exploded, and several bloody shadows shot up, rushing towards Ling Chen’s Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat.

”Indeed, they are coming for us.”

A gleam appeared in Ling Chen’s eyes as he drew the Thunder Sound Sword, and with a casual forward swipe, ”crackle”, electric light flashed, and the bloody shadows below suddenly exploded, ripped into several pieces, falling into the sea water.

”So fast!”

Lin Wan was about to draw her sword, but Ling Chen had already made his move, and with just one sword, he had obliterated those bloody shadows without giving them time to react.

Among those bloody shadows were two with Sky Apex Realm Peak Level auras, yet they were also wiped out by Ling Chen, without any chance to struggle.

Only then did Ling Chen see the true nature of the bloody shadows, which were not pure humans, but rather half-snake, half-human ”monsters.”

”They are half-humans.”

Lin Wan’s beautiful eyes lit slightly, introducing to Ling Chen, ”The half-human races in the Penglai Island Territory are very common species, their numbers are not much less than humans. In this Penglai Island Territory, they hold significant influence.”

”There are many types of half-humans, such as tiger people, leopard people, mermaid... the ones who just attacked us should be snake people.”

Lin Wan said with a grave expression.

”Half-human forces?”

Ling Chen’s expression slightly changed; he had seen records about half-human forces in the Nine Provinces Geographical Records before. In his impression, the half-human forces were quite powerful overseas, not much inferior to Lingyue Island.

”The snake people in the Penglai Island Territory are indeed a powerful, populous group, but there’s no need to worry too much; these snake people are probably just low-level pirates. We’ve just killed a few pirates, so we shouldn’t provoke the more powerful half-human forces.” Seeing through Ling Chen’s thoughts, Lin Wan said with a smile.

Ling Chen nodded; he was merely curious about this kind of half-human group, not fearful. As long as they were his enemies, Ling Chen wouldn’t hesitate to kill them, whether they were human or not.

”Let’s go, straight to Lotus Island.”

Ling Chen jumped down from the Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat; they were not far from Lotus Island now, and even by sword flight, it wouldn’t take more than one hour to reach it, so there was no need to attract unnecessary attention by staying on the Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat.

The snake people pirates earlier had probably set their sights on this Silver Moon Jade Dragon Boat, which was why they suddenly launched a raid.

”Let’s go!”

Lin Wan nodded, and the two of them immediately set off. Ling Chen took flight of the sword, while Lin Wan maneuvered the Puppet Wings, and the two quickly left the area.

After the two left, the sea suddenly splashed, as a male snake person emerged.

”Such terrifying swordsmanship, killing all the ambushed brothers with just one sword.”

This male snake person looked visibly relieved; he was just a tad late, and didn’t expect Ling Chen to kill all his brothers.

”Among the dead is the leader’s cousin; this matter must be reported to the leader as soon as possible.”

The male snake person’s gaze was uncertain; they thought they’d caught a big fish, but unexpectedly hit such a hard obstacle, resulting in a huge loss.

With a splash, the male snake person dove back into the sea, creating a fierce wave, and disappeared.
