Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 198: Chapter 140: Gamble (Part 2)

And out of these eleven rounds, the Baron only won two.

This made Song Lichuan and his two companions’ wealth skyrocket, with accumulated chips exceeding four hundred!

Within just about half an hour, they had doubled their wealth! The rapid accumulation of wealth brought a joyful expression to Lin Ji’s face, allowing him to completely relax.

Even Song Lichuan and Bian Guanyue couldn’t help but ease their expressions slightly.

As for the Baron, his face gradually turned serious, and after losing another hand, he couldn’t help but reveal a wry smile: ”You three really have good luck, maybe we should call it a day. If we keep playing, this old man might lose all his savings.”

”Oh no, let’s play a few more rounds,” Lin Ji hurriedly persuaded upon hearing the Baron’s words.

”Alright, well, since I accepted the bet, it wouldn’t make sense for the banker to run first.” The Baron sighed, signaling the notary to deal the cards.

This allowed Lin Ji to let out a sigh of relief; he hadn’t had his fill of winning yet!

Among the three of them, he was the one who had won the most, with the best luck. Judging by the current situation, as long as they continued to gamble, not to mention a few more chips, even that piece of [Legend] equipment would end up in his hands!

And with the new two hole cards dealt, Lin Ji picked them up and was filled with joy.

He had directly received a King and an Ace, and most importantly, both were of the same suit, clubs! These hole cards in Texas Hold’em were already considered quite strong.

Without any hesitation, he directly tossed out five chips.

Raise!

Even though his hand was excellent, he didn’t raise too much, understanding the principle of drawing a big catch with a long line; if he scared everyone away, he would only win the ante.

Even...

Lin Ji glanced at Song Lichuan and Bian Guanyue beside him. After a slight hesitation, he didn’t signal to them.

He was now harboring some thoughts; the Baron’s assets were limited, impossible to win indefinitely, and the more his teammates won, the less he would get.

Of course, Lin Ji wasn’t going to ruin relationships over this, but as long as he wasn’t too obvious and unintentionally won more chips, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Sure enough, the other three didn’t suspect anything. Besides Song Lichuan, who seemed to have a bad hand and folded right away, the others chose to raise.

And with the three community cards revealed, Lin Ji was overjoyed!

The three cards were two clubs and one heart ace!

This meant that as long as one more club came out among the remaining two cards, he could form the flush, and with an ace high flush!

This was already a substantial hand, and even if he couldn’t get a flush, he would at least have a pair of aces, which was considerable!

Thinking of this, Lin Ji once again confidently raised ten chips!

However, it seemed that his change was noticed, as Bian Guanyue frowned at him before choosing to fold, which made Lin Ji secretly annoyed, wondering if he had made it too obvious.

Fortunately, the Baron, after thinking for a while, decided to continue to call.

Lin Ji didn’t raise again but chose to see the turn card.

With eager anticipation in his eyes, the fourth card was dealt.

Another club!

This time, Lin Ji’s anxious heart was completely at ease.

”I’ll raise by ten more,” he cautiously adjusted his tone, fearing to scare the Baron away.

Luckily, after pondering for a while, the Baron decided to continue to call, making Lin Ji delighted, and he hurriedly said, ”I’ll raise, twenty chips!”

This made Song Lichuan and Bian Guanyue glance at Lin Ji in surprise, as the bets so far had been very cautious, but this was the largest bet the table had seen up to now.

The Baron squinted and smiled, ”Young man, do you really have a big hand or are you trying to bluff me? I’ve been playing Texas Hold’em for so many years; I’m not that easy to fool.”

”You guess.” Lin Ji remained calm on the surface, but inside he was secretly delighted, hoping that the Baron would believe he was bluffing, and that he didn’t have a big hand, so he could win a big pot.

He watched the Baron nervously, awaiting his response.

However, while the Baron was contemplating, suddenly, there was a ”boom” outside the hall!

Everyone turned towards the sound, noticing what seemed to be smoke spreading in the distance and perhaps an explosion had occurred.

”Baron, it seems something’s happened.”

A person dressed in armor walked in and whispered.

This was the only Knight in the castle.

The Baron glanced at the Bet Chain on his wrist and said, ”Go handle it.”

”Yes.” The person exited, and the Baron turned around, pushing his chips without hesitation: ”I call.”

This made Lin Ji finally unable to contain his expression, a full-blown smile appearing on his face.

The others returned their attention to the game, recovering from the explosion.

Everyone was certain that with the Baron’s control over the territory, no significant incidents could occur; the explosion just now might have been some insignificant accident.

And as the Baron finished speaking, the notary also stepped forward and revealed the final card.

It was an unimpressive seven of diamonds.

This allowed Lin Ji to let out a long sigh of relief, even more convinced that he would win, and he proceeded to place another twenty chips.

The Baron also called, but just as Lin Ji was confidently about to reveal his hand, the Baron’s voice rang out again.

”Hold on.”

”What’s the matter, Your Excellency?”

”I will raise, one hundred chips!”

As the Baron’s words fell, the whole table fell silent.

”O-one hundred?” Lin Ji’s voice stuttered a bit, a drop of cold sweat falling from his forehead as his heart raced uncontrollably.
