Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 165: Chapter 128: The True Identity of the Upper Position Follower_2

At that moment, he got in touch with Zhang Qingshan, whose goal was to prevent Extreme Dao from causing trouble. The two hit it off immediately and set a trap. Ye Junlin deployed a noticeably weaker team as bait, while Zhang Qingshan stood by to wait.

Sure enough, Extreme Dao took the bait. They formed a five-man team for a surprise attack, only to be captured by the well-prepared duo.

Ye Junlin approached the Extreme Dao member, whose legs were broken and who lay dying. His phoenix eyes revealed undisguised disgust.

With a slash of his sword, he shattered the mask of Extreme Dao, revealing an extraordinarily ordinary face.

”So it was you.”

Ye Junlin recognized the man as someone who usually appeared honest on his team. Who would have thought that his true identity was that of a murderous lunatic?

”Sometimes I really don’t understand. How can the rewards for hunting Awakened compare to the Positioning Anchor Point? If the world mission fails, won’t everything go to waste? Are you brainless, or do you just enjoy the thrill of killing?”

As Ye Junlin spoke, the disgust in his eyes intensified.

The Extreme Dao member spat a mouthful of blood, a tragic smile on his face, knowing he was doomed to die. But for some reason, Ye Junlin felt that there was a hint of relief in that smile.

Without thinking further, Ye Junlin raised his hand, and the icy sword blade instantly pressed against the man’s throat.

”Tell me, who is that Upper Position Follower, and where is he now?”

”The strength of you five is unworthy of the title of Upper Position Follower.”

Recently, the government, along with various forces, has been investigating Extreme Dao, and naturally, it’s not without gains.

Even before the start of the Blood Moon Ceremony, three Extreme Dao members had been killed, and much useful information had been extracted, including the involvement of Outer Realm Demons and the existence of an Upper Position Follower.

Unfortunately, they still had no leads on the mysterious Upper Position Follower, which was like a thorn lodged in Ye Junlin’s heart.

Without finding that person, they could not dispatch people to accelerate the search for the Corpse King.

Yet, faced with Ye Junlin’s pressing, the Extreme Dao member just kept coughing blood while tragically laughing: ”Do you really think we became lunatics by choice?”

”There aren’t that many natural-born killers. We... we are but souls long destined to die, struggling with the obsession to survive.”

”Stop spouting nonsense!” Ye Junlin shouted, pushing the sword forward another centimeter, the sharp tip immediately slicing through the man’s neck.

Unexpectedly, the Extreme Dao member laughed even more intensely, as if finally being freed from some constraints. He spat blood, speaking intermittently: ”I, I cannot say, I am unable, to resist his will...”

”But soon, you will all meet him. I can feel it. He, he is about to...”

In the middle of the sentence, the Extreme Dao member suddenly widened his eyes, looking behind Ye Junlin, with a look of fear on his face.

”He, he’s here!”

The words of the Extreme Dao member sent a chill down everyone’s spine. They turned around abruptly, only to see that a tall, dark figure had appeared nearby at some point, standing silently behind them!

The shadow was about three meters tall, cloaked in a large black robe. But even so, it could not hide his robust physique. Through the dark cloth, the contours of muscles were clearly perceptible, along with the terrifying power they held within.

”You are the Upper Position Follower, aren’t you?” A flash of seriousness crossed Ye Junlin’s eyes as he subtly signaled his subordinates.

Without verbal communication, everyone understood his intent.

A group of Warrior Tier Awakened silently approached the mysterious shadow to encircle it.

As soon as the encirclement formed, Zhang Qingshan and Wei Shan shouted simultaneously, raising their weapons and charging toward the shadow!

At the same time, various Support Professions quickly applied buffs, such as Earth Shield, Giant Bear Power, Gale Protection... Under the enhancement of numerous buffs, the already formidable attributes of the two rose another level. The great sword and spear nearly transformed into afterimages as they pierced toward the shadow!

But then, an unexpected turn of events occurred. Faced with the combined attack of two S-Class professions, the shadow merely shot out its hands with lightning speed!

”Clang!!!”

A deafening metallic clash resounded as the duo’s all-out attacks were forcefully caught by the shadow’s bare hands!

Blood dripped from the palms, as the sharp sword blades had cut the skin, yet the shadow seemed entirely unfazed, hardly impacted, instead using its bones to further trap their weapons!

This sight left everyone in disbelief!

Two S-Class professions, fully buffed, couldn’t even land a hit, caught barehanded?

And as the audience watched in shock, an even more terrifying scene unfolded as the giant shadow’s wrist turned, snapping the ”Treasure” quality great sword in Wei Shan’s hand!

Ye Junlin’s hair bristled all over his body, suddenly sensing something, and urgently shouted: ”Run!”

However, his words came too late. A third hand extended from under the black robe, landing a punch on Wei Shan!

The shields adorning him shattered in an instant. Even ”Perfect” quality armor couldn’t offer much protection against this overwhelming force. The gilded heavy armor visibly dented as Wei Shan spat blood, flying backward!

At the same moment, a fourth hand reached for Zhang Qingshan. At the critical moment, a young dragon behind him cast a spell, creating a stone barrier in front of him, but even so, he was struck by giant force, slamming into the flesh wall behind him, in no better state than Wei Shan!
