Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 2298: Chapter 3: Work Assignment

”Huh? Why did it explode? I only wanted to catch him. But it doesn’t matter, even if they’re slightly injured, as long as they don’t die, consider it a punishment. Let these Earth people know, this isn’t their Orion Arm anymore. Where everyone revered them over there, it won’t be the same on our side.”

Inside the spaceship, a guard at the Respect Level, coldly watched Jia Yan leap down.

But when everything in front of him returned to its original state, this Respect-Level guard’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

”Uh, what’s going on? He’s not even slightly injured and didn’t get caught by my energy. This... this... this...”

The Respect-Level being couldn’t believe his eyes.

The Respect-Level being had long gauged the power levels of the beings inside this spaceship, at least superficially. He knew there might be a Respect-Level strongman aboard, but none could match his prowess. Even if stronger individuals from their guard troop acted, they could swiftly control any situation aboard.

But now, reality seemed to slap him in the face.

A creature from Earth, which he considered as insignificant as an ant, evaded his attack.

This moment changed everything suddenly.

”No, I can’t lose face like this. He must have used some technique, and a technique capable of resisting a Respect-Level strike can’t be used repeatedly. He wants to challenge us? Now you’ll see, our challenge isn’t so easily taken.”

This Respect-Level being released a sky-shattering Brainwave Power towards the flying Jia Yan again.

This time, the Brainwave Power surprisingly caused Jia Yan’s avatar to slightly freeze.

”Impressive, just a Respect-Level yet able to slightly affect my avatar. It seems like a rather unique Respect-Level. However...”

Jia Yan flying ahead sneered.

Then, a Brainwave Power from within his body lightly repelled the Respect-Level Power, dissipating it into nothing.

”What? What’s going on? I seemed to sense Stellar-Level power emanating from him. Could it be that this guy is a presence of the starry sky level?”

In the skies, the Respect-Level guard’s demeanor drastically changed, then tried using Brainwave Power again.

”So what if it’s Stellar-Level? I’m a Respect-Level, you must be a genius from Earth. There don’t seem to be Stellar-Level beings on Earth. If you truly are such a genius, you should be a rare and valuable talent from Earth. Don’t worry, I won’t harm you. Once I catch you, Earth should offer more benefits to our consortium. After all, a genius has appeared on our planet to stir up trouble.”

His words were conveyed through Brainwave Power, making the message swift.

Jia Yan, flying ahead, felt mentally uncomfortable with this Respect-Level guard.

”Hmph, if you remain stubborn, I can’t kill you, but I’ll make sure you can’t catch me.”

Buzz...

After a sound like an ultrasound suddenly exploded, the world flickered with waves.

Then...

”Where is he?”

”Uh... where did that guy go? He suddenly disappeared.”

”Could it be some technological movement method? Doesn’t seem right.”

”Must be some unique movement method. What a shame, otherwise we’d see quite a show. This was an Earth person.”

The Respect-Level being had just sensed Jia Yan’s presence but now sees Jia Yan vanished, leaving no target for his Brainwave Power.

”Tell me, who exactly is your Earth companion?”

The Respect-Level being, abruptly using Brainwave Power, sharply questioned the area where Earth people were.

He dared not injure them, knowing that the black-haired Earth person seemed to have been with these young Earth people for long without much interaction. When conflict arose earlier, they couldn’t even call out his name and seemed to know nothing about his capabilities.

”We truly don’t know, maybe he’s a genius from Earth.”

”That doesn’t seem right; which genius from Earth is at Stellar-Level? I don’t know either.”

”Actually, it’s possible Earth has a Stellar-Level or even above genius. That’s Jia Yan’s son; Lord Jia Yan definitely exceeds Stellar-Level. Reportedly, his son also exceeds Stellar-Level, perhaps even more.”

”So there are such powerful individuals among us Earth people?”

The young Earthlings, intimidated by the Respect-Level being’s direct threat, shared what they knew, trembling as they’d never felt such oppressive force.

”Hmm? Jia Yan?”

The Respect-Level guard’s expression drastically changed upon hearing Jia Yan’s name from the young Earthlings.

”Spread my order. If you spot this young man in town...”

”Capture him, right?”

Beside the Respect-Level being, a subordinate at Stellar-Level eagerly interjected, attempting to aid.

”Capture, my foot. If you see him, treat him properly. If he prefers to keep his identity hidden, don’t expose it. We can’t afford to stir trouble with those connected to Jia’s family, are you daft?”

The Respect-Level guard gave a slap, hitting the Stellar-Level being’s face.

”Jia’s family? Uh, which one? Earth people aren’t aware yet that Jia Yan is part of Giant Mosquito’s family?”

The connection between Jia Yan and Giant Mosquito is slowly being spread outside the starry sky, even known by guards of small forces like these.

Perhaps some higher-ups on Earth may know too. But since Giant Mosquito hasn’t mentioned it, Earth people won’t either, and to the Jia’s family, it’s a commonly acknowledged fact without much impact.

Sadly, average Earthlings remain unaware, mistakenly thinking Jia’s family made good relations with Giant Mosquito’s clan.

Of course, being tied to Jia’s family, or seemingly so, the Respect-Level guard won’t dare to provoke. Knowing that they are backed by Giant Mosquito...

A being at least at the Stellar Late Level, not only him, but even their consortium behind him, or the starfield backing the consortium, wouldn’t risk displeasing such a creature easily. Otherwise, their starfield might be destroyed in an instant like the Biochemical Star Region.

This incident or interlude was noticed by some concerned beings, but what changes it might bring, no one knows.

Jia Yan, however, paid no attention to these things.

Originally, he merely wanted to fly around this planet, see the interstellar factories, then leave.

But after a short while, he had an idea.

At the entrance of an already half-collapsed factory hung a metal sign, written in universal language: Apprentices Wanted.

”Excuse me, are you hiring apprentices here? I’d like to apply if possible.”

Suddenly, a creature roughly ten meters tall inside the factory entrance was startled by the inquiry, halting his pounding work.

”Hmm? Someone’s here for a job?”

He looked up, seeing a large creature resembling a bear.
