Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 2288: Chapter 37: The Ten-Year Promise

How could she not be delighted?

After finishing the conversation with Luo Longsi, Jia Yan looked at Jia Rong with mixed emotions.

This so-called son of his was actually cultivating at the moment.

The recent massive explosion had impacted Jia Rong, but Luo Longsi protected him fiercely, and he gained some insight from the Yin-Yang Dao energy of the explosion, leading him into cultivation.

”Yes, this child truly has talent. I was thinking that if he didn’t realize it on his own, I would try to assist him. Now that he realized it himself, let’s wait.”

After a moment of silence, Jia Yan didn’t leave; he flew with Luo Longsi in the cosmic vacuum, quietly awaiting Jia Rong’s progress.

Jia Rong’s talent is indeed good, especially his comprehension seems to genuinely inherit Jia Yan’s genes, resulting in a smooth breakthrough.

Semi-stellar level is a minor checkpoint for the stellar level.

Jia Yan of the past directly skipped the semi-stellar level, but that method of cultivation was only complete due to Jia Yan’s evolution into the body of the Evolutionary Creature and a touch of luck. Jia Rong cannot walk the same path, so Jia Yan never intended to guide Jia Rong to directly break through to the stellar level. After all, besides himself, he couldn’t think of any other beings that could achieve stellar level through that method.

Boom, boom, boom.

In the world, suddenly another explosion erupted heaven-shatteringly, but compared to the previous disturbance caused by Jia Yan, it was a few thousand to ten thousand times weaker.

Following this, a long shout echoed.

A creature that looked identical to an Earth human suddenly flew up against the cosmic black background, shouting loudly in the air, as if his body’s energy was inexhaustible.

”Semi-stellar level, hahaha.”

Jia Rong was wildly ecstatic, constantly checking his arms, then his body. Although he didn’t know why his body didn’t enlarge like other beings upon enhancing strength, he liked it. After all, he’s already merged into Earth’s society; with a larger physique, he wouldn’t fit in.

”Hmm?”

Suddenly, his expression turned dazed because in front of him was an incredibly terrifying monster, extending up to ten kilometers, silently observing him like a planet.

It had been a long time since Jia Rong formally met with Giant Mosquito.

Now he was aware that Giant Mosquito was his father, so upon meeting this ’father’ yet again, Jia Rong was momentarily at a loss for words.

”You’re doing well, keep it up.”

Jia Yan didn’t know what else to say, merely using an immense brainwave power to convey this to Jia Rong, and then he moved with Luo Longsi in the direction of the fleet.

”Wait, father... Lord.”

Jia Rong called out, stopping what he viewed as an incredibly terrifying starry sky beast.

”Since you already know our relationship, calling me father is fine, but don’t say it out there randomly. I have many enemies, and I can’t guarantee you won’t face danger without my protection.”

Jia Yan’s voice gently sounded beside Jia Rong.

”I, I know, I just want to ask, back then, did you... ever acknowledge us as a mother and son?”

Jia Rong suddenly asked the question that had been on his mind all these years.

He knew that now Jia Yan essentially acknowledged their existence as mother and son, and externally, many creatures might be aware of their existence, but past memories and childhood recollections aren’t easily erased. Hence, he wanted to know whether Jia Yan ever considered them family back then.

Jia Yan paused slightly.

He hadn’t much thought about this idea himself, but thinking back to the past, realizing he had a son, and while he didn’t pay attention to Samo Ling and her child, but instead mingled with his niece Qiqi, it wasn’t hard to think subconsciously he might want to closely see this ’mother-and-son’ family.

After a good silence, Jia Yan moved forward.

But his words echoed in Jia Rong’s ears.

”Yes!”

A single word, yet it seemed to inflame Jia Rong’s heart with passion, even more so than swiftly breaking into the semi-stellar realm.

”Lord, Little Master Rong is very happy.”

Luo Longsi flew behind Jia Yan, saying this.

”Yes, I know.”

”Lord, are you also happy?”

”Don’t be annoying; if you keep talking, I’ll take back what I said earlier.”

”Uh, haha, alright, I understand, I won’t talk anymore.”

Luo Longsi unexpectedly teased Jia Yan a bit, especially in this situation, feeling their relationship wasn’t as distant and was quite close.

”Alright, off we go together then, it’s been ten years, let’s see if those Empire folks are ready to reclaim their light years.”

After Jia Yan and Luo Longsi flew away.

Soon, a tiny figure flew out of the starry sky at an unprecedented speed.

Though Jia Yan didn’t send himself away, Jia Rong was very pleased, having received that single-worded reply, it seemed to him that his life’s journey had gained recompense.

”Actually, thinking back, haven’t I lived my life under the shadow of these questions? Haha, now I finally got his answer. I don’t need to worry about these anymore, really exhausting.”

Jia Rong comprehended many things, especially from Jia Yan’s perspective, he considered how he would respond if he were in Jia Yan’s situation.

Then he realized he couldn’t have done better if he were Jia Yan.

”Forget it, let’s go back. I’ll have a good reunion with mother, and then I’ll focus on my path to strength, particularly the Yin-Yang path... He hasn’t noticed that the Yin-Yang path provides me with greater advantages...”

Thinking of his advantages, especially his favorable compatibility with the Yin-Yang path, Jia Rong was even more delighted, quietly pondering if he might surprise Jia Yan again.

After all, he has been deemed unlikely to break through to the ’stellar level’ by Jia Yan, but what if he does it in the future?

”Whatever, even if I break through, what of it? Not to mention what level he reaches in the future, even now, a newly broken-through stellar level wouldn’t stand a chance before his brainwave power... The difference in strength is vast.”

Comparing oneself with Jia Yan is really foolish; overall, Jia Rong doesn’t want to think much more. He solely desires to truly liberate his heart and mind, then concentrate wholly on cultivation, tackling the greatest barrier post semi-stellar level, which is to break into the universe’s truly strong checkpoint — the stellar level.

”Lord, did you have significant gains this time? Regarding the upcoming breakthrough, do you have any ideas?”

Flying within the universe, Luo Longsi couldn’t help but ask the question behind Jia Yan.

Jia Yan broke through, and as someone who witnessed it, she was naturally extremely aware, but there’s great difference between breakthroughs.

Some breakthroughs made by certain beings seamlessly lay groundwork for subsequent breakthroughs during their progression, while like Jia Yan, a talent-type strong being, should he not make adequate preparations during his breakthrough?

But Luo Longsi was destined for disappointment.

”Luo Longsi, you don’t understand, breaking through to galaxy level isn’t that simple... Plans and grounds laid down mean nothing; if given a chance, once you reach this level yourself, you’d understand what I’m saying.”

Jia Yan shook his head, smiling bitterly.

About laying paths, about ideas, they mean nothing at this barrier.

That’s why breaking through to galaxy level requires accumulated momentum and a certain amount of ’inspiration’; that’s why some people with excellent talent may remain stuck indefinitely, unable to break through to galaxy level, whereas some who stumble upon reaching the stellar peak may unintentionally break into galaxy level quickly, this kind of thing has exceeded the scope of previous laying paths or having ideas as means of breaking through.
