Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 651 Third Assessment

Following the end of the combat assessment, Xuan Hao continued curiously watching the participants who would soon become disciples of the Star Shattering Sect. Keeping an eye on Chun Hua at the same time.

Although he could have just forcefully caught her and gotten her to tell him her reason for trying to sneak into his sect. Doing so could end up causing some trouble for the participants currently undergoing the third and final assessment.

Not to mention, he did not have any soul-searching techniques that would allow him forcefully to pry out the information from Chun Hua in case she wouldnʼt answer his questions…

Just waiting for her to reveal her reason for entering the Star Shattering Sect herself, was a far simpler thing to do… And Xuan Hao didnʼt mind waiting around for a few hours while the assessments for the new disciples took place. After all, this way, he would also be able to see the new disciples who would be entering the sect.

Given that he would likely teach them in the future during one of his lectures, it was not a bad thing to learn about them beforehand.

Watching the participants slowly getting ready for the third and final assessment, Xuan Hao suddenly realized that he had absolutely no clue how Elder Song had planned to test the comprehension of the young participants.

From what he understood about the testing of different sects he had read about and visited so far, there was no way to test someoneʼs talent when it came to comprehension, as it was constantly changing as the cultivatorʼs soul grew stronger and stronger.

Testing it by measuring the soul strength of a cultivator was doable, but it would be extremely uncertain for cultivators below the Nascent Soul Realm, as their soul was simply far too weak to properly measure.

Feeling curious about how Elder Song had planned to test the comprehension talent of the participants after knowing all of this, Xuan Hao could not help himself from turning towards Elder Song.

”Elder Song… How will the third assessment be done? As far as I know, there is no artifact to test someoneʼs comprehension talent and measuring through the strength of their soul is not doable with their current cultivation realm...”

”How it will be done? They will each be handed a rather simple technique that is split into 99 different levels, I made specifically for this assessment! The result of the assessment will depend on how much they manage to comprehend during the next few hours!” Smiling happily to himself as he said answered Xuan Haoʼs question, Elder Song took out a small scroll before handing it over to Xuan Hao.

”Here, this is the technique that I made for the test!”

”Thank you…”

Not having expected for Elder Song to go so far for a simple disciple recruitment assessment, Xuan Hao grabbed the small scroll Elder Song was handing him.

For some reason, Xuan Hao felt like he began to understand why the disciples of the sect adored Elder Song so much.

Even if he was not the strongest elder in the Star Shattering Sect, he was by far the one who put in the most effort when it came to helping the disciples… And this was not even his own disciples, but all the disciples of the Star Shattering Sect, be it Outer Sect Disciples or Inner Sect Disciples!

Swish~

Not feeling like it would be all too entertaining to watch the participants sit down trying to learn the technique Elder Song had made for the test, Xuan Hao decided to open up the small scroll Elder Song had handed him.

Curious about the technique Elder Song had made for the third assessment.

”Hm? This is… Quite impressive…” Muttering this to himself as he read through the technique Elder Song had made, Xuan Hao could not help showing a surprised expression.

The technique Elder Song had made was, as he said earlier, split into 99 different levels. The technique was an attack technique that grew stronger with each level. However, after reading through it, Xuan Hao quickly came to realize that the technique was in no way simple.

The 1 to 29 level was suitable for someone in the Qi Condensation Realm and Xuan Hao expected most the participants in the top 50 to at least reach the 29 level.

Level 30 to 59 of the technique was different, as it was far more difficult and could be considered a Foundation Establishment Realm Combat Technique.

Even if some of the Peak Qi Condensation participants could reach this level, it would not be more than a handful. Reaching level 59 of the technique within the few hours allocated to them would be close to impossible for someone in the Foundation Establishment Realm and would be a testament to the cultivator having an incredible comprehension ability.

After all, reaching this level would mean they had the ability to comprehend a Foundation Establishment Realm Technique in only a few hours!

Above level 59 that symbolized a Peak Foundation Establishment Realm Technique, was level 60 to 89. Reaching this level, the simple palm technique would get far more complicated, as it would officially transform from a Foundation Establishment Realm Palm Technique to a Core Formation Palm Technique!

Among the participants, the only person with the ability to reach this level, was Chun Hua.

If any of the Foundation Establishment Realm participants could master a Core Formation Realm Palm Technique within a few hours, they would be some kind of heaven defying genius!

Level 90 to 99 was even more difficult to master, as the once simple Qi Condensation Realm Palm Technique had already transformed into a true Nascent Soul Realm Palm Technique!

Although it was not at the Peak among Nascent Soul Realm Techniques, it was still a terrifying Nascent Soul Realm Technique that someone with Elder Songʼs cultivation realm should not have been able to create!

”…”

Thinking this to himself, Xuan Hao could not help staring at Elder Song sitting beside him with an excited expression on his face while watching the participants below learning the palm technique.

Elder Songʼs talent when it came to comprehension might be far more terrifying than he expected...

Given that comprehension would only really start to play a big role after starting to form a pseudo domain, Xuan Hao felt like Elder Songʼs strength would rapidly start increasing after he reached the Peak of the Nascent Soul Realm in the future.

I should try and find a way to heal his injured soul as quickly as possible…

Not having forgotten about the injured state of Elder Songʼs soul, Xuan Hao decided to put some more effort into trying to find a way to help heal his injured soul in future!

…

At the same time, Xuan Hao was lost in his own thoughts while looking through the palm technique made by Elder Song, Chun Hua and the rest of the remaining participants were all curiously looking towards a large stone monument that had been placed in front of them.

Etched into the large stone monument, was all the 99 levels of the palm technique Elder Song had specially made for the third assessment to test the participants comprehension.

What kind of technique is this…? The one who made it is truly a genius to come up with such a unique way to test someoneʼs comprehension!

Reading through the different levels of the palm technique in front of her, Chun Hua could not help showing an expression filled with admiration, as she understood just how wonderous the palm technique in front of her was.

Although it was not more powerful than some of her own techniques and combat arts, it was split into 99 different levels that were all seamlessly connected. Making the technique extremely easy to learn and progress in.

If she had just reached the Nascent Soul Realm, this kind of technique would be wonderous, as it would allow a Nascent Soul Realm Expert to easily learn a powerful palm technique in at most a few weeks!

It had to be known, that it normally took months, if not years to learn a Nascent Soul Realm combat technique. Not to mention, the more powerful the technique was, the longer it took to learn!

Hm… Most of the people here should only be able to learn somewhere between the first and twenty ninth level, with my strength showing as the First Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, it should be fine for me to learn up to the thirtieth level of the technique.

Planning on how to proceed with the assessment after seeing the palm technique in front of her, Chun Hua closed both her eyes before memorizing the palm technique.

To make sure that she blended in with the rest of the participants, she also got up to spar with some of the other participants in the Foundation Establishment Realm. Making sure to show a steady progress in strength throughout the third assessment.
