Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

690 Fight for Survival

Swish-!

Dashing out from her cover behind one of the buildings of the town, Hui Ying channelled all her strength into her sword as she stabbed towards the demonic cultivator without any hesitation.

Ptsh!

Not having expected for her to be there and being far too focused on his fight with Bai Ning, the demonic cultivator did not manage to react in time, as Hui Ying successfully managed to stab the demonic cultivator with all her strength!

”Die!”

Ignoring the sword Hui Ying had stabbed into him, the demonic cultivator exploded with killing intent as he turned his attention away from Bai Ning and attacked Hui Ying who had just stabbed him.

Whoosh-!

Seeing the terrifying fist of the demonic cultivator covered in scarlet red light descending down towards her all of a sudden, Hui Ying had no time to react as she had not expected for the other party to still be capable of attacking her so quickly after having been stabbed in the stomach by her.

Swish~

Just as the attack of the demonic cultivator was about to land on the unprepared Hui Ying, Bai Ning who had already seen Hui Ying approaching earlier threw out a small defensive artifact that quickly unfolded into a large shield-

BANG!

Crack~!

Not a second later, the fist of the demonic cultivator landed on the defensive artifact. Instantly shattering it!

Whoosh~

But in the end, the short moment bought by the defensive artifact was more than enough for Hui Ying to let go of the sword still stuck inside the demonic cultivator and escape from the attack before it had chance to land on her.

”Hmph! You dare!”

Seeing Hui Ying escaping into the distance as he missed, the demonic cultivator turned his attention back towards Bai Ning as he resumed his attack after pulling Hui Yingʼs sword out from his stomach.

However, even with his current strength as a cultivator in the Higher Demon Realm, there was no way for him to fully recover from the damage Hui Ying had caused when she stabbed him with all her strength. Especially when considering the other injuries, he had received from the explosion of the demonic formation that started affecting him more and more the longer the battle went on for…

For this reason, Bai Ning slowly started gaining the ability to fight back against the demonic cultivator. No longer being forced into a purely defensive position as the strength difference started decreasing as the injuries of the demonic cultivator grew worse and worse the longer the fight went on.

Not good… I canʼt continue like this!

The demonic cultivator of course realized his current situation as he felt the situation inside his dantian growing more and more unstable due to his injuries worsening the condition of his unstable cultivation base.

Even if the demonic cultivator was not that smart among his peers, he still understood that he would end up dying if he could not deal with Bai Ning before his situation ended up getting even worse than it currently was…

The main thing that made the demonic cultivator realize the fact that he would end up dying without doing anything drastic, was that he could clearly feel how fast his strength was decreasing after Hui Ying had stabbed him.

Something that was quite hard to admit given that he was a major realm above Bai Ning…

”Hm?”

Noticing the very clear change in the demonic cultivator as he suddenly began attacking in a far more precise and deadly manner compared to before, Bai Ning could not help frowning as the advantage he had gained after Hui Yingʼs attack disappeared the moment the demonic cultivator started to fight like his life was on the line.

Bang!

Being knocked back by the demonic cultivator, Bai Ning could not stop a stream of blood leaking out from the corner of his mouth after stabilizing himself and getting ready to face the demonic cultivator once again.

Even if the defensive artifacts could absorb most of the damage from the demonic cultivatorʼs attacks, there was no way for them to fully absorb everything. Especially given that he could not truly bring out the full strength of the stronger artifacts for the Core Formation Realm that he had crafted with his current cultivation base.

Considering that the demonic cultivator had even started burning a part of his life essence to increase his strength, Bai Ningʼs artifacts had no way to fully block the attacks of the demonic cultivator!

…

”Hah… I have to thank Bai Ning later. If not for him…” Muttering this to herself as she let out the breath she had unconsciously been holding, Hui Ying looked back towards the place where Bai Ning and the demonic cultivator were currently fighting.

From the demonic cultivator pulling out the sword she had stabbed into it and left there, to the demonic cultivator starting to burn his blood essence to increase his strength in an attempt to break through the seemingly endless number of defensive artifacts that Bai Ning pulled out from thin air to protect himself.

Even if part of her was curious where all the defensive artifacts were coming from, Hui Ying didnʼt bother thinking about this at the moment. Defeating the demonic cultivator was far more important!

And… Given that the demonic cultivator had started burning his own life essence to increase his strength, it was obvious that he was close to losing!

If… If I can just find another way to get another sneak attack in, we should be able to finish him off!

Thinking this to herself as she watched Bai Ningʼs situation getting worse after the demonic cultivator strengthened himself with by burning his own life essence, Hui Ying narrowed her eyes as killing intent appeared in them.

No matter what, there was no way she was just going to let the demonic cultivator kill her new friend!

Swish-!

…

Bang!

Blocking yet another crazed attack from the demonic cultivator with one of his defensive artifacts before watching it get sent flying away, Bai Ning was just about to pull out another defensive artifact from the interspatial ring his master had given him when he suddenly froze.

There wasnʼt any artifacts left inside his interspatial ring!

”…”

Looking at the approaching demonic cultivator, Bai Ning could not help feeling a shiver run down his spine as he realized that he would have to face him without any defensive artifacts.

Even considering that he was stronger than a normal Ninth Stage Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator, Bai Ning understood very well how dangerous it would be to face the demonic cultivator in front of him without any defensive artifacts to keep him safe… Especially considering that the demonic cultivator was currently stronger than normal after burning his own life essence!

”HAHAHA! FINALLY RAN OUT OF DEFENSIVE ARTIFACTS!?”

Seeing that Bai Ning didnʼt pull out another defensive artifact, the demonic cultivator could not help laughing loudly as he felt a sense of relief deep down.

If Bai Ning had continued pulling out defensive artifacts every time, he knocked one away from him, the demonic cultivator doubted that he would be able to kill the other party before he ended up killing himself by burning all his life essence…

Now that Bai Ning no longer had any defensive artifacts left to protect him, the demonic cultivator understood that it would not take long for him to kill the other party considering the strength difference between both of them!

”Hehe, prepare to die!”

Knowing that he was about to win, the demonic cultivator smiled sinisterly as he attacked Bai Ning with all his strength.

Whoosh-!

Even with his unstable cultivation base and his decreasing strength, by burning his own life essence, the power of the demonic cultivator had already reached a level comparable to a normal Higher Demon Realm Expert… That included his speed!

BANG!

Without having the ability to use his defensive artifacts to protect him, Bai Ning had no way to avoid the attack of the demonic cultivator and could only do his best to use a qi technique to defend.

”Ah-!”

However, with the difference in strength, the demonic cultivator easily broke through his defence before sending him flying!

If not for the fact that the Unformed Mantra had a side effect of strengthening his body, there was no way he would have been able to withstand the attack from the demonic cultivator!

”HAHAHA- Hm?”

Laughing loudly as he managed to send Bai Ning flying while throwing up a large mouthful of blood, the demonic cultivator momentarily let down his defences-

Zing~!

Ptsh!

Allowing Hui Ying who had managed to retrieve her sword after the demonic cultivator had thrown it away, to once again successfully sneak attack him!

”AHHHHH-!”

The only difference this time around, was that Hui Ying didnʼt stab him through his stomach, but instead stabbed him through the back of the head! Killing him!

Even if he was a demonic cultivator in the Higher Demon Realm, there was no way for him to survive being stabbed through the head...

Only those in the Nascent Soul Realm and above would be able to survive in such a situation!
