Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

688 Powerful Demonic Cultivator, Strength of the Higher Demon Realm!

”What a powerful demonic formation…” Reaching the town square where the core of the demonic formation was, Hui Ying could not help exclaiming in surprise as she stared at the blood red lines connecting to different demonic looking symbols floating in the air around the town square.

Even without any knowledge on demonic formations, Hui Ying still managed to see through the usage of the demonic formation at a glance, as the red lines and demonic symbols all created a small stream of blood red liquid that slowly flowed towards the centre of the town square.

Looking towards the direction of the blood red liquid formed by the demonic formation, a large figure covered in a blood red aura filled with killing intent could be seen absorbing the blood red liquid as his aura got stronger and more stable with each passing second.

”The demonic cultivator…” Starring straight at the figure of the demonic cultivator who was still ignoring them, Hui Ying could not help hesitating as she felt the terrifying aura of the Higher Demon Realm demonic cultivator.

Even if she knew that the other party had not stabilized his cultivation yet and wouldnʼt be able to fully use his newfound strength, she still felt scared deep down when faced with such a strong opponent. Especially considering that she had not reached the Ninth Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm like Bai Ning…!

Swish-!

Seeing Hui Yingʼs nervous expression as she looked towards the demonic cultivator in the distance, Bai Ning decided to make the first move as he charged towards the demonic cultivator without wasting any time. Understanding very well that the longer they waited, the more dangerous it would be for them.

”Wha-!? Wait for me!”

Swish-!

Watching as Bai Ning took the first step and charged towards the demonic cultivator without any hesitation, Hui Ying froze for a short second before she quickly followed behind him.

No matter what, there was no way she would just stand around and watch Bai Ning fight the demonic cultivator by himself!

”Hm?”

As Bai Ning and Hui Ying charged towards the demonic cultivator, the demonic cultivator stood up before looking towards Bai Ning and Hui Ying with a disdainful smile on his face.

”Hehe, I really didnʼt expect you to come here by yourself… All you are doing is making things easier for me!” Chuckling to himself as he said this, the demonic cultivator quickly stopped the absorbing the red liquid from the demonic formation-

Whoosh-!

Not waiting for Bai Ning and Hui Ying to reach him, the demonic cultivator gathered his strength into a small red orb before throwing it towards the two.

BOOM-!

Not even a second later, a large explosion shook the dead town as the red orb landed only a short distance away from Bai Ning and Hui Ying. Inevitably forcing both of them to rapidly retreat as they used their qi to shield themselves from the explosion of the blood red orb.

In the end, both Bai Ning and Hui Ying ended up retreating back out of the town square to prevent the explosion of the red orb from harming them.

Whoosh-!

Not wasting any time after having avoided the attack, Bai Ning and Hui Ying both charged back towards the demonic cultivator once again-

Boom!

Only to once again be forced to escape as the demonic cultivator threw another red orb towards them the moment, they got too close.

Boom-boom-boom!

This cycle continued repeating itself for the next few minutes as Bai Ning and Hui Ying would charge towards the demonic cultivator at the centre of the town square. Only to end up retreating a few seconds later after being met with the powerful red orbs created by the demonic cultivator forcing them to retreat.

…

BOOOM-!

”This… This is the power of a Higher Demon Realm demonic cultivator! We canʼt even get close to him at all...”

Barely managing to defend herself from the explosion caused by the another red orb and retreat in time, Hui Ying could not help looking towards the demonic cultivator disdainfully smiling at them with a fearful expression on her face.

Facing the power of a demonic cultivator who had reached the Higher Demon Realm was different from just feeling the powerful aura released by the other party. Even after sending out so many powerful attacks, the demonic cultivator still looked like he was full of energy without showing any signs of exhaustion!

Hui Ying even got the feeling that the other party was just playing with them and wanted to slowly exhaust them before killing them…

”Indeed, he is quite powerful… But that red orb attack should not be something easy to use constantly… Even for a demonic cultivator in the Higher Demon Realm…”

Different from Hui Ying who was starring towards the demonic cultivator with a fearful look on her face after barely escaping alive from the other partyʼs attack, Bai Ning narrowed his eyes as he looked towards the demonic cultivator with a thoughtful expression on his face.

”Hm? The demonic cultivator is not chasing after us- Is he really planning to let us tire ourselves out before coming to kill us!? But… If that is the case, why is he not stopping us from recovering now…?”

As a few seconds slowly passed with them slowly recovery instead of going back in, Hui Ying was the first to interrupt the silence as she tilted her head in confusion while looking towards the demonic cultivator that remained at the centre of the town square.

Not understanding why the demonic cultivator was just standing there without caring about them recovery some of the qi they had used during their attempts to reach him.

”Not chasing after us…? Ah! Thatʼs it!”

Bai Ning who had been observing the demonic cultivator during this time suddenly jumped up as he seemed to have understood something after hearing what Hui Ying said.

”What is it? Did you figure out why the demonic cultivator is not chasing after us?!”

Not able to contain her curiosity after hearing Bai Ningʼs sudden exclamation, Hui Ying quickly asked him. No longer feeling too worried about the demonic cultivator coming to attack them after seeing that he remained completely unmoving at the centre of the town square.

”If Iʼm not wrong… The demonic cultivator should still be deeply connected to the demonic formation in some way that prevents him from moving without damaging himself in the process. This should be the reason why he only tries to attack us through ranged attacks instead of just fighting us normally.

It would not be too odd if it was a normal cultivator, but this is a demonic cultivator! Demonic cultivators are far stronger compared to ordinary cultivators when it comes to physical fights, while they are far weaker in things like qi techniques. The one in front of us is not an exception either, even if the red orb is powerful, it is only barely stronger than the Foundation Establishment Realm!”

”Ohh! I see, so what should we do?” Nodding her head in understanding after hearing what Bai Ning said, Hui Ying quickly asked him what to do.

Given that he could understand all of this, he should have come up with some way to deal with the demonic cultivator…

Thinking this to herself, Hui Ying looked towards Bai Ning filled with anticipation.

”Because he canʼt move due to fearing that doing so would break the formation that is helping him stabilize his cultivation base and injurie him in the process, I say… Why donʼt we make the choice for him and break the formation…?”

”That is… A good idea! This way, he will not be able to stabilize his cultivation base and should also be injured by the destruction of the formation!”

Hearing what Bai Ning said, Hui Ying thought about it for a short moment before agreeing with him.

If Bai Ning was really correct in his assumption about the demonic cultivator still being deeply entwined with the demonic formation. Destroying it would surely be able to cause some sort of damage to the demonic cultivator, while at the same time stopping him from stabilizing his cultivation base.

Even if it was wrong and the demonic cultivator was not connected to the demonic formation in the way Bai Ning though he was. Destroying it would still stop the demonic cultivator from further stabilizing his cultivation base.

…

Hm? What is this feeling? Why do I feel like something bad is about to happen?

At the same time Bai Ning and Hui Ying were hatching up a plan on how they would destroy the demonic formation, the demonic cultivator could not help frowning after seeing the two of them no longer charging towards him.

”How weird…” Muttering this to himself as he looked towards Bai Ning and Hui Ying having retreated out from the town square-

”Hahaha! Looks like I was worrying over nothing! I forgot that these little oneʼs are far weaker than me and canʼt continue attacking so recklessly without any breaks! Hahaha!”

Laughing disdainfully after realizing that they were just recovering their qi, the demonic cultivator no longer paid any attention to the two of them as he focused on stabilizing his cultivation base with the help of the demonic formation…
