Charm point maxed out, inheriting game assets

Chapter 1649: Chapter 574: Making a Name in Xiang River 2

Bai Menglin nodded slightly but didn’t speak.

Shen Yuyan said directly, ”You know Menglin: her abilities are beyond question. We’re setting up a new business line at Rongliu, and I’ve invited her. The only question is whether she has the courage to take the plunge.”

Bai Menglin took a deep breath, her eyes flickering.

Ji Yingying gently put down her wine glass, a smile playing on her lips, ”Having courage is good, but one must still be cautious. Rongliu Capital’s AUM is only 2 billion US Dollars, right? It doesn’t quite stand at the top here in Xiang River. Although there are some overseas operations, overall, it’s still a medium-sized private equity. The platform’s scale can significantly affect one’s career path.

Overall, the growth space might not even compare to Guotai Junan International, especially considering they’ve got the billion-dollar market value Guotai Junan Securities backing them.”

Though her tone was gentle, her words were full of the insinuation that ”it’s not at the top tier.”

”Yingying indeed has seen a lot over the past few years and her words have become more magnanimous. Your Zhifang Medical is now valued at around 10 billion RMB, right? Following your logic, its growth potential is quite limited too, isn’t it?” Shen Yuyan joked, ”How about considering a switch to our company? Your IR background fits well.”

”Hehe.” Ji Yingying chuckled softly, ”Our Zhifang is an industrial company, with products, technology, and factories. Revenues are visible, assets are tangible. We also connect with top-tier platforms like Qiming Venture Capital and Jiukun Investment. In fact, just the day before I left Yang City, I dined with the Chairman and executives of those two companies.”

She then turned to Bai Menglin, ”This club’s 15th floor has a viewing terrace where many of Central’s elites drink and chat. I happen to know some friends there, I’ll introduce you later; it might help your career development.”

Bai Menglin bit her lip and nodded gently, ”Thank you, Yingying.”

She understood that Ji Yingying was showing off, but it was indeed an opportunity.

In Central, many people have to wait months for a meal and an introduction.

Under the table, Shen Yuyan’s hand clenched slightly, but on the surface, she only smiled calmly.

She was well aware that what Ji Yingying said made sense.

Moreover, the two companies she mentioned, Qiming Venture Capital with nearly 10 billion US Dollars AUM, and Jiukun Investment dominating the quantitative field with over 60 billion RMB under management.

Comparatively, even with Rongliu Capital’s current 2.1 billion US Dollars AUM, which is first-tier in the mainland, it looks quite insignificant in Xiang River, a city with intense global capital density.

If Qiming invited Bai Menglin to switch positions, even if only for a senior analyst role, she might agree immediately on the spot.

That’s reality, and she completely understands it.

The three of them were silent for a moment.

Ji Yingying, bright-eyed, took a sip of red wine, stood up, and adjusted her attire as if she had already entered the ”hostess in her domain” mode.

”Let’s go, old classmates. We’ve eaten enough,” she said naturally. ”Let’s head to the viewing terrace for some drinks, check out Central’s night scene, and maybe meet some new contacts.”

She glanced over the two across from her, her eyes bright, exuding confidence with a hint of assessment.

Shen Yuyan smiled, standing up gracefully, ”Thank you for helping us expand our social circle, Yingying.”

Bai Menglin also nodded gently, picking up her bag to follow along.

The three of them climbed the stairs to the 15th-floor viewing terrace and walked some distance further.

The view opened up in front of them.

Lights flickered on the terrace, and the sound of conversations rose and fell.

At least half of the crowd were foreigners, impeccably dressed in suits, courteous and composed, either holding whiskey or engaging in low conversations.

The mix of alcohol, perfume, and cigars in the night breeze created a unique atmosphere of the upper social circles.

Opposite them was Central’s stunning night view.

The clusters of skyscrapers looked like a crystal forest under the neon light, brilliant and luminous, facing the Kowloon Peninsula across the way.

”This way,” Ji Yingying, with a bag in one hand, gestured elegantly with the other for the two to follow.

She walked confidently, naturally, as if stepping into a territory she already knew well.

In fact, as the former assistant to the Chairman of Zhifang Medical and now the IRO, she spent most of her time in such social settings.

She followed leaders and investors, witnessed many scenes.

Compared to Shen Yuyan and Bai Menglin, this was her biggest advantage and the main reason she invited them here.

In a group of seven or eight people, a man in his thirties smiled as he approached them.

Wearing a bespoke dark blue suit and gold-rimmed glasses, his aura was calm and sharp.

Ji Yingying greeted warmly, ”Hello, President Zhou, we’ve come up.”

President Zhou nodded, looking toward the two behind her.

”This is Zhou Wei, President Zhou, a partner of Huayin Capital and a good friend of mine.” Ji Yingying spoke affectionately, ”This time, the spot at the Huaxia Club was arranged by President Zhou.”

Hearing her introduction, Bai Menglin’s expression tightened, immediately extending her hand politely, ”Hello, President Zhou, I’m Bai Menglin from Guotai Junan International, pleased to meet you.”

”Hello, Miss Bai.” Zhou Wei responded mildly, shaking her hand briefly.

His gaze then shifted to Shen Yuyan, eyes brightening slightly.

Shen Yuyan indeed had striking looks.

Her face was fresh and beautiful, with a clean and sharp temperament, her eyes exuding intelligence and composure, easily making her a focal point among professional women.

Shen Yuyan did not extend her hand but gave a polite bow, ”Hello, President Zhou, I’m Shen Yuyan from Rongliu Capital.”
