Chapter 1612: Chapter 564: Tang Song’s Twisted Sense of Humor (Part 4)

Create a bit of tension with a seemingly distant yet close atmosphere.

Like the aroma rising from the edge of a warm porcelain cup, intoxicating before the actual sip.

Time quietly slipped by during the quiet report.

Not sure how much time had passed.

”Knock, knock, knock—”

The office door was gently knocked.

Shen Yuyan instinctively straightened slightly, a tiny movement, subtly pulling away from Tang Song.

Immediately after, the door was pushed open.

Lin Muxue stepped in with a steaming cup of coffee.

She was dressed in a well-tailored beige suit dress, walking gracefully, pausing slightly as her eyes met Shen Yuyan’s.

”President Tang, your coffee.”

”Thank you.”

Lin Muxue placed the coffee on the desk with utmost elegance.

Then she looked at Shen Yuyan, speaking gently: ”Shirley, would you like me to bring you a chair? You’ve been standing in high heels for quite a while; it must be tiring, right?”

Shen Yuyan smiled and shook her head, ”Thank you, Luna, for your kind offer. However, I just want to stretch my legs. Standing makes it easier to focus and maintain peak performance at all times. After all, we’re President Tang’s assistants, and we can’t slack off at work.”

Lin Muxue’s gaze sharpened slightly, ”Certainly, focused attention is good, but don’t overdo it. After all, it’s your own feet, and developing plantar fasciitis or varicose veins from standing wouldn’t be worth it. It would delay work and wouldn’t be worthwhile.”

”No need to worry, our company’s benefits are great, with additional health insurance and reimbursement for rehabilitation programs.”

”Shirley, you’re very thorough.” Lin Muxue glanced coldly at Shen Yuyan, ”President Tang, I won’t disturb your work any longer. If you need anything, just call me anytime.”

”Alright.” Tang Song nodded, watching as Xue gracefully exited, then discreetly glanced at Shen Yuyan beside him, finding it particularly interesting.

This kind of ”tit for tat” in the workplace was something he had experienced before.

However, having two elegant and charming urban women as his assistants was indeed somewhat of a ”chaotic scene.”

Just then, strands of hair fell again.

Shen Yuyan softly said, ”President Tang, there’s something else I’d like to report to you.”

”Hmm?” Tang Song turned his head with interest, looking at her.

Her gaze was clear and resolute, ”I’d like to apply for a short business trip to our headquarters in Xiang River.

As the newly appointed assistant, while I’m generally familiar with the organizational structure of the headquarters through documents and reports,

I have yet to have any direct contact with the core executive team.

What’s more important is that since you are now based in Yan City, many tasks are personally coordinated by you.

And as your special assistant at Rongliu, not only do I need to keep up with your pace, but I should also quickly adapt and become familiar with the company’s overall resources and network.

This will facilitate future collaboration and better fulfill your tasks.”

Tang Song was slightly taken aback by her request.

This was quite a coincidence.

He had just decided to handle affairs at the Xiang River headquarters when Shen Yuyan volunteered.

However, upon reflection, it seemed logical.

What kind of person was School Beauty Shen? She wasn’t Xue, when she saw the map of Rongliu Capital, her ambition and drive could not be satisfied with mere clerical work.

Moreover, she carried ”old grievances” and ”hatreds,” with execution capability nearly maxed out.

But that’s also a good thing.

Xue was his groomed personal assistant, focusing more on personal affairs, with plans for her to manage Tang Jin Manor and the private plane in the future.

Recruiting Shen Yuyan was about finding someone who could charge ahead at work.

So far, she performed exceptionally well.

This trip to Xiang River, apart from receiving a private jet, also involved handling a billion-dollar capitalization initiation.

Bringing Shen Yuyan along not only shared the workload but also allowed her to become familiar with the structure there, paving the way for future work.

He nodded lightly, ”When do you plan to leave?”

Shen Yuyan’s face brightened, and her voice was soft yet firm, ”Depending on your schedule, President Tang. If you have no new tasks in the coming days, I plan to leave this Wednesday.”

Naturally, applying for the ”Hong Kong and Macao Travel Permit” and endorsement typically requires time, but as an assistant-level executive at Rongliu Capital, she had already signed the ABTC (APEC Business Travel Card) application materials upon joining.

She had asked HR in advance and could get the card today.

Business class tickets were fully reimbursable, with visa-free entry to Hong Kong and a 60-day stay per visit.

Everything was prepared, just waiting for Tang Song’s final approval.

Tang Song considered for a moment, then said calmly, ”Alright, you head over first, familiarize yourself with the headquarters’ operations. I’ll probably be heading to Xiang River this Friday or Saturday as well.”

”Are you going too, President Tang? That’s great; I’ll ensure the reception preparations are in place for everything to proceed smoothly on your end.”

Shen Yuyan’s smile widened, an uncontrollable hint of amusement spreading from her eyes as her mind raced.

Going solo to the headquarters naturally provided a good opportunity to make an appearance.

But if she could go with the Chairman, it would be more than just an appearance; it would be a grand ”debut.”

With Tang Song’s backing, her progression at the Xiang River headquarters would be accelerated.

Moreover... she could take this opportunity to introduce her high school classmate Bai Menglin to Tang Song, and recruit her into Rongliu Capital to act as her eyes and ears in Xiang River.

She had been contemplating a subtle approach to recommend her friend, but now everything seemed to fall into place effortlessly.

Truly a case of having the right timing, location, and people under control.

Hahaha, this is truly heaven-sent!

Just as she was gearing up to say more.

Tang Song suddenly spoke again, ”By the way, Shirley, you’ll go on this business trip along with Luna. She, as the company’s Chief Assistant, hasn’t been to the headquarters either, making this the perfect opportunity.”

”Uh...” Shen Yuyan’s mouth twitched, barely maintaining her composure.

Her original plan for the Xiang River trip was to step out of Lin Muxue’s shadow and establish her own influence at the headquarters.

However, now, the other party was also arranged to accompany her?

This... is self-sabotage!

”Alright.” She used all her decorum to make these two words sound soft and calm.

Watching this, Tang Song inwardly chuckled, finding it especially amusing.

Sending Xue to Xiang River was part of his original plan.

First, it pertained to the private plane’s handover.

The Bombardier Global 7500 had completed its registration and transfer process, with the subsequent usage rights, pilot allocation, and flight route arrangements needing a trusted person to assist, and none other than Xue.

Second, it related to the capital operations layout following the hundred-billion-yuan capitalization.

Rongliu Capital was about to kick-start a series of acquisitions to further expand the investment ecosystem and strengthen its influence in the international market.

As his Chief Assistant, Lin Muxue naturally had to be involved.

Interestingly enough, Lin Muxue and Shen Yuyan both triggered the ”Whisper of Human Nature” scenario, eventually becoming his assistants.

Despite different personalities and styles, they bore a subtle resemblance.

Putting them together always sparked some unexpected chemistry.

Then, Tang Song seemed to remember something.

Looking up, eyes shining, he said, ”Shirley, our company offers housing subsidies for executives, and you can apply for an apartment suite at Lanfeng International Apartment. The North City Garden where you and Qingqing currently live pales in comparison and is further from the company. How about... you both move there?”
