Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3737  Davis and Myria

*Whiss~*

Davis thought back to the remembrance where he saw his derailed fate where Tina was his first wife. If Fallen Heaven could allow him to see such a non-existent flow of fate, then he knew its powers could also allow him to see the past.

Only he never used such power because of how dangerous it is, but Myria was the closest to him... where their souls had almost fused to become a Reincarnation Cycle in and on itself, so the change in the flow of fate would be lighter than ever.

ʼDammit… wouldnʼt that mean weʼre the same person…?ʼ

Davis inwardly cursed about over his own thoughts. Nonetheless, he activated Fallen Heaven, wanting to see Myriaʼs past as he imagined the birth of Ellia.

Abruptly, both Myria and Davisʼs eyes turned white.

Their vision saw something else. The both of them were standing in front of a wisp.

They recognized this wisp.

It was none other than Myriaʼs Eternal Life Soul.

It was just like they saw in the projection made up of World Masterʼs memories.

However, the surroundings were clearer than the World Masterʼs memories because it was no longer full of darkness, but iridescent motes of light covered this mystical space, giving it the aura of a reincarnation cycle.

One could see Myriaʼs Eternal Life Soul absorb the reincarnation energy around and produce something within it. It was a new soul expanding within.

Just as it expanded to the shape of the wisp, they thought it would form and reincarnate into the world. However, such a thing didnʼt happen, and neither did it regress to a point and die.

Instead, the soul wisp growing within, split off from Myriaʼs Eternal Life Soul.

Perhaps it was the refraction, but the colorless, translucent souls finally radiated a hint of color, one deep blue and the other golden, almost as though signifying the separation of yin and yang.

Then, the golden wisp shuddered, abruptly shooting off into the distance.

”What? Where did it go?”

Davis voiced out in shock. However, before he decided to follow it, he saw a new soul starting to form within the deep blue wisp. It soon lost its color and became colorless again, slowly absorbing the reincarnation energy to give birth to a new yin soul.

Eventually, they saw the new wisp envelop Myriaʼs Eternal Life Soul. The rebirth was complete, causing the wisp to shift locations.

What they saw was a girl baby had formed in some woods. She was eventually picked up by a villager and sold to the High Line Slave Traders, the place where Ellia grew up to be a personal maid and eventually sold to the Loret Family.

Davis shuddered at this scene.

If this was Ellia, then who was that golden wisp, presumably the incarnation before Ellia?

Despite the consequences, Davis wished to know, and Fallen Heaven answered.

The scenery in front of them changed. Davis and Myria saw that golden wisp pulsate within the reincarnation cycle after leaving Myriaʼs Eternal Life Soul.

They watched it with trepidation visible in their eyes.

*Crack!~*

However, the golden wisp shattered. Like an egg that had cracked, it began losing its essence, squandering the immense amount of soul essence that came from the source. Eventually, it completely disappeared within the iridescent motes of light.

For some reason, Davis felt sad.

Even Myria felt the same.

However, they both looked at each other with relief in their eyes.

”Fortunately, it was just some womanʼs stupid rambli-”

Davis hadnʼt even finished his words when a wisp popped into existence, reforming in front of their sight.

They stared at it in shock, not recognizing if it was the same wisp as it had lost its golden glow. However, it pulsated and shot somewhere else.

”…!”

Davis and Myria quickly followed it, or rather, as long as their focus was on it, they traversed with it. They soon came across some kind of bridge. There were many soul wisps passing through this bridge, and in the end, there was a wheel ripping apart everything that passed through it, causing them to shudder.

”What the- ”

Davis saw that wisp sweep through everything as though it was a runner before it jumped into the wheel. It instantly disappeared from their sight, but it was still in their focus through Fallen Heavenʼs powers.

The scenery changed once again, and they were in a luxurious modern-day hospital surrounded by a few doctors who nodded before they left.

There was a man and woman, their looks fortuitously good. The woman carried a baby in her arms, looking at it with a loving gaze.

”Weʼll name our son, Tian Long, strong as a dragon and fearless as the heavens…”

The man smiled before he opened his mouth, ”Unfortunately, we may not be able to save him if he stays with us. Jing Hua, we must send him away as soon as- ”

”No!” Jing Hua screamed out, her cold eyes staring daggers at him, ”Tian Sheng! If you separate us, I will never forgive you! I donʼt care what you have to do or sacrifice, just go win!”

”Easier said than done…” Tina Sheng laughed coldly, but he nodded and left.

”…”

Davis saw Jing Hua kiss her baby and cry silently with pursed lips.

He couldnʼt help but look away, feeling something arising within him.

His evil father and mother seemed like they cared about him very much, but in the end, they had to abandon him in a slum so that his identity wouldnʼt be found. But Mo Mingzhiʼs father, Mo Wuming, kidnapped him.

”Yeah, thatʼs me…”

Regardless, Davis turned to look at Myria, his eyes determined.

ʼSo what if Iʼm her one of her incarnations or her son? That doesnʼt change anything within me.ʼ

The surroundings faded, and they were back at the World Masterʼs place. However, Myria couldnʼt stop shuddering, her expression appearing like she was backed into a corner and out of breath.

”Myria, Iʼm not your son. You saw the reincarnation wheel had reformed me, so I wasnʼt your split off anymore. I didnʼt come into this world as a phenomenon. I came into this world through a father and mother named Tian Long! I used the Grimoire of Fate to jump into my second life preordained through fate and became Davis Loret. I crossed two lives, so Iʼm not your son. You understand!?”

Davis firmly held Myriaʼs shoulders, trying to talk some sense to into her. However, she looked as though she was trying to hide in a shell, cold and shivering as though withstanding a chill breeze.

Myria bit her lips, forcefully looking at him as her eyes teared up. She raised her hand and placed her palm on his cheek, appearing conflicted yet full of love.

”You may have crossed… two lives… but it doesnʼt change the fact… that our souls share a similar true soul or even further above, a similar soul quintessence…”

”…”

Davis shuddered ever so lightly, unable to retort.

The World Master glanced at them, knowing that their relationship wasnʼt as simple as incarnations but heavily influenced by the reincarnation cycle, so much so that the Grimoire of Fate brought back his unique soul physique to him through a series of coincidences.

She didnʼt believe he had done it all. Nonetheless, she returned her gaze to the Candidacy.

The Sixth Hidden Pagodaʼs trial was about to end.
