Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3714  To Comprehend the Essence Of A Scythe

Davis brought her to one of the training grounds they possessed. It could easily handle Late Stage Immortal Emperor attacks since it was built on the materials they brought from the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm.

Arriving at the fairly big courtyard extended through spatial formations, Davis took out Yama and pointed at her.

”Help me comprehend the Phyletic Law of the Scythe, so donʼt show me any mercy and attack me with full force using your twin blades.”

”…”

Schleya raised her brows, ”If itʼs training, then I wonʼt hold back.”

She stretched out her hand as two crescent blades appeared in her hands. Blood energy rumbled from her bloody silhouette, making her appear like the goddess of war.

”Yes, donʼt hold back and go further than necessary, with the intent to kill…”

Davisʼs voice was cold as he raised his scythe, his death energy soaring above him as the scent of death struck her nostrils, making her shudder ever so lightly.

Facing this fear, Schleya strengthened the grip on her crimson crescent blades.

She was already a Level Three Immortal Emperor, so she didnʼt feel like she would lose, dashing towards him with all she had before she jumped and attacked from an odd angle, intending to slice him through the rib with one blade and the other through the neck.

*Bang!~*

Davis slashed with his scythe using his full force, cleanly blocking her curved blades, but without any surprise, he was sent flying like a ragdoll. However, Schleya was just right above him, keeping up as she flipped her lithe body and struck him again.

He swung Yama once again, clashing with Schleyaʼs Crescentblood.

*Bang!~*

He crashed into the ground but quickly shot up, making Schleyaʼs brows raise. Although she was only using blood energy, raising her prowess up to six levels higher, capable of matching a Level Nine Immortal Emperor, even a supreme genius Immortal King wouldʼve fallen to that attack of hers.

She couldnʼt help but stop a moment to admire him, her husband, as her eyes glazed over.

Blood leaked from Davisʼs lips, but he rose to the sky and looked down, waving Yama in the air as he made it dance around him while death energy spread like a hazy fog.

He could reach mid Level Seven Immortal Emperor Stage in prowess when using death energy. He could use reincarnation energy to reach Level Eight Immortal Emperor Stage. However, he was intent on using death energy to master the Phyletic Laws of the Scythe.

Unlike the Phyletic Law of Sword, which was strictly unrelated to the type of attribute, he felt the scythe was strongly related to the death attribute.

”Donʼt stop. I know my usage of prowess is weaker than yours right now, but what I need is this pressure to make a breakthrough. Donʼt lower your killing intent and keep landing blows on me. If I manage to have a breakthrough, Iʼll grant you Soulfire Ruby Saber, the Soul-Devouring Bloody Vulture Clanʼs Legacy Treasure, as a reward.”

Davis uttered. He was going to give her that treasure regardless but putting a mission behind it like a paywall would always make anyone with a hint of dignity feel like that they have earned it.

”Then please donʼt die~”

Schleyaʼs crimson eyes flashed with killing intent and excitement.

It seemed like she liked sabers as well, causing Davis to grin as he launched himself at her as well.

”No-no-no-no-no-no!~ Weʼre going to die…! Die… die…”

Shirley crouched and whimpered as she walked to and fro, making a scene while the others kept blinking at her. For crying out loud, she appeared fairly excited for some reason.

”Reporting…! I saw people running our way, and one of the nicer ones warned them that a crystal beast horde was coming this way, with an Empyrean Beast Crystal Beast leading them. Apparently, the First Hidden Pagoda didnʼt work as a sanctuary at all…!”

”What!?”

Crystia became shocked over Noctisʼs report. Everyone else was also shocked as well.

”Ahhh! Weʼre going to truly die…!”

Shirley ran around Evelynn and Isabella, making them feel embarrassed but also amused as she now grabbed Dewzai and ran around. However, they could understand her frightened soul as well.

If she didnʼt do at least this, then she would be cooped up in a shell for fear of being hunted down, as it was unknown if the Empyrean Crystal Beasts could track her down.

After all, they made contact with them and absorbed a little bit of energy from the crystal cores in order to test it. If that action alone constituted a mark, then their fates were already sealed.

Now, they heard one of the sanctuaries also failed, so they couldnʼt help but think it was a good decision not to leave to the First Hidden Pagoda.

After all, if the Empyrean Stage Crystal Beasts werenʼt enemies, then the other inheritors were even more dangerous since news that they possessed many treasures couldʼve already spread.

Dewzai also said nothing, her expression looking grim.

”Everyone,” Founder Rocksunder gathered the crowd, ”We need to leave soon since the horde could be overwhelming in numbers, enough for them to find this little den of ours. Since the Empyrean Crystal Beasts are coming from the far west, we need to escape to the northeast, east, or southeast, so please decide.”

”I came from the northeast.” Isabella spoke up, ”Thatʼs a treacherous volcanic terrain where the Seventh Hidden Pagoda existed, but chances are that it is already cleared. As for the east, I donʼt know, but the southeast, where the Fourth Hidden Pagoda is present, I cleared it already.”

”So the east is uncharted territory for us?”

Founder Rocksunder looked around to see if anyone had some idea.

But Isabella spoke again, ”Thereʼs only a huge sea spanning in the eastern zone for all I know.”

”I think so too since I came across a sea when I went south from the central land to reunite with my twin sister.” Flamerose supported Isabellaʼs speculation, causing everyone to turn numb.

The sea… the sea would be most terrifying place as there would be many ridiculous magical beasts there. However, since this world didnʼt have magical beasts and only Crystal Beasts, they wondered if it would be safer.

”Alright, we go east if no one has any objections…”
