Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3734  His True Origin?

Davis quickly turned to look at Myria. Looking at her brows tremble, he clenched his teeth and returned his gaze to the World Master, forcing a smile.

”I didnʼt think the World Master was that interested in me. Whatʼs this? Am I too special…?”

”What do you think?” The World Master didnʼt answer, returning his own question.

Davis took a deep breath and smiled brightly.

”Whatever it may be, I do not want to know. Iʼm Davis Loret right now, and I wonʼt accept any new or old names, ancient or trendy titles.”

”It may not be important for you, but donʼt you think youʼre denying your partnerʼs right to know about your past?”

”Excuse me… that isnʼt even my past. If such a life exists, then itʼs another life that shouldnʼt matter.”

”In the reincarnation cycle, all karma of your lives matters ever so lightly. As a Reincarnation Law expert, I thought you wouldʼve understood that by now.” The World Master shook her head.

”Still, it shouldnʼt relate to this life, so why bring us trouble?”

Davis raised his hands and asked with an unamused expression.

It would be fine if the World Master hit that information on his face, but what is the point of bringing Myria here? He didnʼt want to give her needless insecurities if he turned out to be some ridiculous or evil man in the past.

In this life, he was Davis Loret. Fallen Heaven amended his previous life, transitioning from Tian Long to Davis Loret smoothly without the need to enter the reincarnation cycle.

So, what was his life before Tian Long?

He didnʼt know, and even the World Master had previously said that she couldnʼt find an incarnation before Tian Long, which gave them all deep suspicions as he seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.

Now, the World Master was telling him that she found out his true origin. The question was, did that matter when he had no recollection even now? Even his entanglement with Nadia and Everlightʼs soul essence failed to produce any memories, even though he became arrogant like a prick in those few days, looking at every life that they were beneath him.

If that didnʼt recover some memories of his true origin, he didnʼt know what would.

”Oh? You think your origin doesnʼt matter in this life?” The World Master narrowed one of her eyes.

”…” Her words and reaction made Davis not know what to say.

If it did have an effect on his current life, he did want to know so he could mitigate any negative consequences. Then again, he felt like the World Master was taking out on him to have Myria here.

Was the World Master taking playful revenge on him because she was frustrated that she was going to let him leave without getting anything in return?

”Saintess Myria, you tell me. Do you want to know your husbandʼs true origin?”

”…”

”If you learned it, you canʼt turn back. After all, I must reveal the fact that you two have also met in the past.”

”…!?”

Both Davis and Myria were shocked at that statement, turning to look at each other.

They quickly returned their gaze towards the World Master, trying to find out if she was kidding or not, but the World Master wasnʼt the one to make jokes!

ʼFuck… did I really chase her to death in the past…?ʼ

Davisʼs expression churned. If he really did something like that, then he wouldnʼt be able to forgive himself. More importantly, would Myria forgive him? Heck, she did tell him that she would accept him even if he was one of the men who chased her to death, but he didnʼt want to be such a person as he valued how they came to fall in love.

If he was such a person, then it could mean manipulation of the highest order, cornering her in the past and giving her butterflies in the stomach in this life.

He wouldnʼt be able to accept her forgiveness in that case, even if his love had been sincere.

Then, does that mean he shouldnʼt be a big shot, or was he a weakened big shot who wanted Myriaʼs Eternal Life Soul?

Davis ground his teeth inwardly, becoming more tense. He didnʼt look towards Myria as he didnʼt want to influence her decision.

”I want to know.”

Myriaʼs voice was crystal clear.

She seemed to have calmed her heart and turned to look at Davis, ”Donʼt worry, even if it was someone I hated in the past, itʼs no longer a concern since I swore my life to you.”

Myria reassured Davis, causing him to turn to look at her. His gaze softened, and he relaxed before nodding.

”Are you sure about that?”

However, a calm voice poured a chill bucket of water on their souls, causing Myria to return her gaze.

”What does World Master mean?”

”What if heʼs the one who killed your mother?”

”…!” Myria flinched.

Davis saw her eyes tremble, her pupils wavering into one of confusion and rage.

”Impossible! My mother died to a heavenly tribulation that came for me!”

Myria lost her composure and screamed out at the World Master.

Even now, it was a sour point in her life. She felt like she caused her mother to die due to her Eternal Life Soul Physique, but it was actually not true? Her mother managed to survive, and someone killed her?

The World Master didnʼt seem offended. She remained as calm as ever, opening her mouth.

”Iʼm just speaking hypothetically. Would you be able to forgive him if he had killed your mother?”

”…”

”If you canʼt, then donʼt make such reassurances. Iʼm asking you to prepare yourselves since the two of your relationship wonʼt possibly be the same after learning Davis Loretʼs true origin.”

”Then…” Myria clenched her fists, lowering her head as she trembled, ”I donʼt want to learn.”

Suddenly, someone grabbed her hand.

She gazed at Davis while he turned to look at the World Master.

”She has implanted the seed of doubt. This would always stab your heart, making you vehemently curious or even doubt my actions in the future. Did you want to drive a wedge between us, World Master?”

”I doubt I could do something like that~”

The World Master lightly inclined her head as though she was intrigued about why he thought like that.

”Then donʼt rattle us anymore and out with it.” Davisʼs expression turned solemn, ”We canʼt go back after learning this much, and I hope theyʼre not all empty words because I highly respect you and donʼt want to turn this situation into something I faced with your daughter.”

”You know she isnʼt at fault. The coincidences at that time were too heavy for her to ignore.”

”Even so… you wouldnʼt understand unless youʼre about to be burned at the stake by the people you love and trust.”

”…”

The World Master went silent after she heard his words.

Burned at the stake by the people you love and trust…? Her lips couldnʼt help but curl before it returned to normal.

”I can only advise you to stay away from her if you have hostile intentions against her.”

”Itʼs alright. I donʼt hate her… just disappointed. People do make mistakes, but sheʼs one of the people I expected to make a mistake the least. It could be said itʼs my fault for believing she would- no, she did have my back, but to imprison me, kill me, and revive me, I didnʼt remember giving her such permission.”

”…”

The World Master blinked, ”You understand, yet you still refuse to forgive her?ʼ

”One can only wonder.”

Davis shrugged, ”Now, let us know of my origin, and weʼll be on our way to the true immortal world sooner or later.”

The World Master stared at him before she nodded and turned to look at the projections. They changed, displaying something else.

It was a lush green forest with waterfalls crashing into the ground and flowing like a river. There were a few people there taking baths, but most importantly, there was something along the edges of the river.

It was a baby. The baby trembled ever so lightly before it began crying out.

The people blinked as they noticed the cries of a baby, wondering where it came from, so they went to find and spotted a baby on the edge of the river before they picked the baby up and cursed whoever abandoned the baby. They further cursed the parents for leaving the baby without a single piece of towel.

Davis wondered what this scene was supposed to say. Was he that baby? However, the baby seemed like a girl.

”…”

But on the other hand, Myria trembled, finally recognizing the baby.

”Mirei Raos…?”

”…!”

Davis turned to look at Myria. He recognized this name as it was Myriaʼs first incarnation.
