Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2169: Remains Equal

Valley Master Jade Aurora flinched ever so lightly. However, she forcefully smiled as she shook her head.

”If benefactor had some thoughts on me, I wouldʼve been robbed of my innocence at that time.”

”You jest.” Davis chuckled, ”My first wife was together with me at that time. If I did something like that, she wouldʼve chopped mine off then and there.”

”Pffft~” Valley Master Jade Aurora couldnʼt help but giggle, ”So crass… but you love your beauties, taking care of them with all your heart, donʼt you? You have my respect in that regard.”

”If Valley Master says something like that, it looks like I have to keep up my appearances.”

Davis straightened his back, sticking out his chest as though he was a righteous individual. It caused Valley Master Jade Aurora to hold her stomach as she tried to suppress her laughing fit. She really felt that he was a reasonable young man who just had a serious issue in case anyone touched his people, which was perfectly understandable to her as she thought the same as the Valley Master.

She was about to declare war against the Emperor Sword Sect if she got out alive, but when she learned that Davis, the Emperor of Death, had massacred them, her gratitude knew no bounds, also becoming a reason for her to share the pond with him.

”Still, I am worried. Let me inform them where I am if they need me.”

”Sure.”

Davis didnʼt stop Valley Master Jade Aurora. If anyone came to seek a share of this resource, he didnʼt know how they were going to lament their fate to be standing against him.

Valley Master Jade Aurora then moved to a spot in mid-air. It was exactly the place where Davis fell and splashed in the pond, but she reached out her hand and used her finger to touch an empty spot when a vortex appeared and abruptly sucked her in.

ʼA spatial node...ʼ

Davis watched her movements, noticing a spatial node that he couldnʼt find before, making him wryly smile as he understood that his Space Laws werenʼt up to par yet. Clearly, Valley Master Jade Aurora had more comprehension than him in Space Laws at the moment, allowing her to find the spatial node.

He glanced around, his soul sense lurking around this isolated cave before he noticed that there were a few graves at the corner and spatial rings on them. It seemed like people had found this place but died to the flow of time, unable to discover the spatial node. Also, their spatial rings were not taken yet, meaning that Valley Master Jade Aurora buried them but didnʼt loot them despite having entered first.

He couldnʼt help but respect her but still…

ʼSafe…ʼ

He realized that this beauty might have some feelings for him somehow, but it might also just be goodwill for all he knew. After all, he didnʼt use Enigmatic Heart Intent on her because the people of the Jade Lotus Valley knew that he could use it. If he got caught using it, then it would be bad, not that he felt like she had any means to protect herself but still, that lotus pinned on her hair seemed suspicious.

For all he knew, she might have the protection of that Guardian Lotus as Ivy Aries seemed to be protective of her people, and even though the Guardian Lotus couldnʼt discover his probe, his senses were affected by the strange energy flow here, so he also felt that it was likely that he could be discovered.

Shaking his head, he also touched the spatial node and appeared outside, catching sight of Valley Master Jade Aurora in a conversation with Ivy Aries. He got reconnected with his avatar and also let Evelynn know what happened.

It seemed like she sensed his presence in her soul disappear and became disturbed. He had to console her that nothing had happened and that he had found a training spot in the Alternating Time Flow Valley, which Valley Master Jade Aurora occupied, and that he was going to share it with her.

When Evelynn heard it, she merely giggled while Davis released a breath before he re-entered the isolated cave again.

Shortly, Valley Master Jade Aurora also entered, looking at him with a smile on her face.

”Youʼre really honest, Emperor of Death. The calamity did seem to have almost descended, but fortunately, nothing had befallen the Fifty-Two Territories yet. Iʼm glad to be able to share this resource with a person like you and become stronger in the process.”

”Iʼm honored.”

Davis plainly replied, causing Valley Master Jade Aurora to move towards the other side of the pond and summon a misty atmosphere that lowered the visibility to an extremely low level. With the strange energy of time floating in the air, even Davis couldnʼt see properly.

However, his mouth couldnʼt help but turn slightly agape.

ʼDamn… did she just get naked again…?ʼ

Davis was in disbelief.

Even if she used mist to block the view, it didnʼt mean that she could block his sense. If he wanted, he could freely peek at her body all he wanted, and he was sure that Valley Master Jade Aurora knew of that fact as well, but if she did decide to get naked, then it suggested that she had a strand of Guardian Lotusʼs energy guarding her.

Moreover, he agreed that making contact with this clear essence of time with bare skin was the best way to feel the alternating flow of time but still... to get naked beside him a few meters away... was she that bold, or was she seducing him?

ʼOr does she feel that Iʼm that of a righteous person…? No, itʼs more likely she understands that I have seen her naked body once in the Poison Rift Valley and doesnʼt give a crap about being seen by me once again. Indeed, that must be why she didnʼt try to kill me in the first place...ʼ

He convinced himself, thinking that this flexible and understanding Valley Master had accepted that she couldnʼt do anything about this matter as he was also extremely strong, but he blinked, wondering why he was trying to make sense of this matter.

Even Valley Master Jade Aurora seemed unbothered, so why should he?

He shook his head and undressed, becoming seated in the clear pond that brushed over his body. As he closed his eyes and began to enter a state of comprehension, he could feel the flow of time here. It was strange, or at least that was how he could describe it, as the time kept alternating as though they were playing a melody.

He felt like he was drifting in the sea of time, slowly coming to understand what it meant.

Meanwhile, a naked beauty amidst the mist had gone beet red as chaotic emotions surged within her heart. However, she gained control of it. Although it took an hour or so to calm herself while seeing that nothing had happened, she gradually descended into meditation and began comprehending the essence of time like Davis did a while ago.

Both of them continuously seemed to receive insights into the mysterious workings of time, all because of the condensed form that they were bathed in.

This resource, if sold, would amount to hundreds of Peak-Level Spirit Stone Vein Sources and could cause countless eyes, even the Heaven Gazing Sectʼs eyes, to churn in greed was being shared by these two people of different powers and gender.

Heaven and earth energy slightly reverberated again and again as they seemed to comprehend Time Laws.

”In the entire cosmos, time remains equal for everyone. No matter how it changed, creating an oddity in the workings of space, perhaps it would return to the same time at the end of its oddity, but the changes that particular oddity made to the myriad of entities present in the cosmos would be ever-present.”

It was unknown how much time had passed, but Davis suddenly opened his mouth, his voice appearing transient as he comprehended the essence of time in this region.

*Bzzz!~*

Abruptly, heaven and earth energy began to resonate as though the heavens were acknowledging the comprehension made. However, what Davis comprehended was merely a few minor resonances, but Valley Master Jade Auroraʼs expression appeared shocked to have gained from what Davis understood, giving her a huge spark of insight that allowed her to comprehend Level One Intent of Time Laws!
