Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2166: Progress

The Astral Light Sect and the Orcha Family appeared like they were going to fight it both their elders fought it out, exchanging a few blows before the Karmic Guardian Emperor stopped them.

Soon, even the Mandate Emperor arrived and decided to interfere before placating both the Astral Light Sect and the Orcha Family. Their exchange went back and forth for a few hours, completely making the Orcha Family incensed due to their Dragon Queenʼs irresponsible actions.

In a shocking turn of events, it was decided that Giselle Orcha would become Lezlie Starchildʼs fourth concubine, completely dumbfounding the people.

In the end, they knew it was all for benefits, although they could understand how they reached this conclusion.

The Astral Light Sect didnʼt have much to lose but only gained by having Giselle Orcha marry into their power. After all, having the blood of the Water Dragon could boost their prowess by a margin.

Moreover, sending off a Dragon Queen was unheard of in these few century millenniums, but after the Emperor of Death stole two of them, it seemed like this trend wouldnʼt stop until something happened. Indeed, the Orcha Family decided to sacrifice their Water Dragon Queen.

Getting their Young Master, her husband, killed was bad enough, but she went ahead and ruined her reputation, painting mud on her familyʼs name. No one in the Orcha Family liked that and decided to marry her off to the man she had an affair with. That was how they could lower the damage and extend the benefits. After all, she was marrying into the Astral Light Sect, which was a greater power than them by a slight margin.

The woman in question, Giselle Orcha, was pale beyond compare.

If she knew that this would happen, she wouldnʼt have tried to kill Lezlie Starchild to hide her affair, but now, all that awaited was a cruel world. Her cultivation wasnʼt sealed. To be accurate, no one dared to seal her as she was strong enough to self-destruct without having herself suppressed by other kinds of energies but still, she knew that her life had hit a new low.

As for Lezlie Starchild, he was going to be thrown into the Astral Light Sectʼs prison for some time because of engaging in immoral acts while not conforming to the rules of the Astral Light Sect. But in truth, it was just a pat on the hand, nothing heavy. It would be just a matter of time before he was released, and his anger would be taken out on Giselle Orcha herself, making her feel some fear.

Nonetheless, the two of them were taken out of the Distorted Skies of Yonder for engaging in disparaging and immoral activities, banned from it by the Heaven Gazing Sect, and never to enter again.

After they left, the Distorted Skies of Yonder became peaceful again, with everyone returning to their spots to cultivate. To most of them, it was a profound drama to watch, and for the geniuses of the Astral Light Sect and Orcha Family, they felt angered and embarrassed. Even their allies felt second-hand embarrassment, so they acted like nothing happened and continued on with their cultivation.

However, many did spread this news, and it naturally fell on Bylai and Zestriaʼs ears.

”That lousy woman… she really went and done it...”

Bylai described with some disbelief on her face. However, Zestria sneered.

”I knew she would do something utterly despicable like that. She was too jealous of us and tried to come up in whatever way she could, and that didnʼt change even now, except she completely messed up. Fortunately, she wasnʼt sent as a sacrifice to Davis like us. Otherwise, I would throw up to call if I have to call her my sister.”

Zestria reacted with dislike, causing Bylai to giggle, ”Being sent as a sacrifice doesnʼt necessarily mean that she would be chosen. Did you forget that we had to receive approval from Shirley and Isabella before he even deigned to look at us?”

”Right…” Zestria smilingly agreed, ”That woman would never manage to receive their approval, much less manage to deceive Davis. After all…”

”… he possesses the fabled Heart Laws.”

Bylai continued as they both giggled.

”Thatʼs apparently called Enigmatic Heart Laws.”

”Ah~ Right...”

However, Zestria corrected Bylai before turning their heads and looking at the ten-meter-wide spatial bubble.

They watched Tina and Dalila remain seated inside this spatial bubble, engaged in the act of comprehending Space Laws stemming from the spatial undulations that even their skin could feel.

They were protecting Tina and Dalila from problematic individuals as they boasted the least battle prowess out of them all. As for themselves, they already tried and failed to make rapid progress in Space Laws back when they visited these training grounds, so they decided to continue on with the advantage provided by their blood and further it.

However, it seemed that they were slightly disturbed by Giselle Orchaʼs downfall, wondering why she became like this. After all, she was a fellow Dragon Queen who shared rivalry with them before things went downhill because of her jealousy. They wished that it hadnʼt become like that but knowing Giselle Orcha, they could only lament.

However, to even go as far as to ruin her life and have her loving husband go berserk from cultivation deviation to ending up dead, they were completely done with her, deciding to throw out all thoughts of her changing for good from their life as they killed her in their hearts.

Time passed.

Two weeks had gone by just like that as Davis and the others meditated inside the spatial bubbles.

*Bzzz!~*

In the skies of the Distorted Skies of Yonder, heaven and earth energy trembled ever so lightly in a three hundred meters wide spatial bubble before a purple-robed man opened his eyes and smiled with some approval on his face.

”Three minor resonances in two weeks… not bad...”

Davis now had comprehended four minor resonances in Space Laws in total.

Although it was faster than Clara, he felt that it had to do with the good spot he occupied and also the fact that he was in the Law Rune Stage. He should be supposed to comprehend minor resonances faster than someone at the Seventh Stage, and now that Clara was in the Eighth Stage, the Law Sea Stage, he felt that she would comprehend even faster.

He wondered if he should go see them, but before that, he verified with his Solitary Soul Avatar that nothing of importance had happened so far. The Calamity Light didnʼt display any kind of activity, but nevertheless, people were constantly on the lookout, enriching and fortifying their defenses through various means.

The Alstreim Family was also hard at work in defense, fortifying their walls and erecting many other defenses, although Davis thought that if those so-called vacuous beasts descended, nothing could possibly survive, but that possibility remained low because of the protection of the massive formation and the restriction placed on cultivation and space.

Nonetheless, he didnʼt bother much and explored the Distorted Skies of Yonder, spotting his women from a distance and confirming that they were safe and sound before moving on to his next agenda.

But before that, he visited the entrance of the Distorted Skies of Yonder before grabbing the spatial ring full of Space Law resources and passing it to Evelynn. After giving her a passionate kiss, he left her, arriving at the Alternating Time Flow Valleyʼs peaks.
