Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2168: Thoughts On You

”…”

A few seconds of silence continued to revolve without Davis hearing a reply from the stunned Valley Master of the Jade Lotus Valley and also Ivy Ariesʼs master.

Meanwhile, Davisʼs expression was as bland as it could be but inwardly, he couldnʼt help but wonder what Valley Master was thinking about to have gone completely silent. Although she was surrounded by mist, he could still see the outline of her curvaceous body. Considering the unknown location, it was eerily sensual, causing him to almost gulp.

However, Davis refused to turn around because he hadnʼt made a conversation yet. Perhaps, it was because of his bigger standing that he refused to be a gentleman or act naive.

But because of that, was she going to fly into a rage and attack him for disparaging her body with his gaze continuously?

”Please… turn around...”

However, a shy and pleading voice echoed, only then making him move as he turned around, but he kept his senses active, lightly suspicious that she might attack him from behind. However, that didnʼt happen. Instead, the sound of clothes rustling could be heard before he sensed her undulations move towards the left and appear on the edge of the pond.

Naturally, he turned around and saw that she was dressed gracefully in her luxurious dark green robe. Her blue hair was like the gentle ocean was long, extending till her waist, but a few locks fell on her shoulder, looking slightly curly.

At this time, he also left the unique yet clear pond and flew towards her and stopped at a respectful distance.

”Thank you, Emperor of Death~”

Valley Master Jade Aurora clasped her hands and bowed ever so lightly, causing Davis to raise his brows.

”Youʼre not going to blame me?”

”Why would I?” Valley Master Jade Aurora dropped her hands and smiled ever so lightly behind her veil, ”I stayed my hand in the beginning as I know the vortex connecting here directly drops you on this pond. Besides, youʼre also my benefactor. One or two accidental slights wouldnʼt make me feel enmity against you.”

”Itʼs just… I really didnʼt expect someone to find this place, but if itʼs the Emperor of Death, it makes sense.”

Valley Master Jade Auroraʼs tone became wry. However, she seemed to be full of praise, and her tone didnʼt have the slightest hint of blame, as though she had met a well-known acquaintance who didnʼt mean any harm.

Davis didnʼt know what to say to her words, but he clasped his hands.

”I see. Since you have occupied this spot, Iʼll leave.”

He turned around, looking around for the exit as he walked away.

”Wait…”

However, a hesitant voice called out to him, causing his legs to stop while his expression became difficult.

In truth, he just wanted to establish a connection with his avatar as soon as possible because his avatar was probably panicking. After all, if the main body met danger and died, the avatar wouldnʼt survive, and consequently, he would completely end up dead.

”What is it?” He turned around, noticing her confused expression.

”Donʼt you realize what this is…?”

Valley Master Jade Aurora pointed towards the pond, her eyes blinking with charm.

Davis cast a look at it, his brows frowning, ”The essence of time. In other words, a condensation that is filled with the insights of time. Basking in it and comprehending would allow you to obtain insights of Time Laws many times with half the effort.”

He returned his gaze, his smile becoming dry.

”Although itʼs a resource I currently crave, itʼs not to the level I would stoop to a low. We could be said to be allies, and you had fate with it as you reached it first. Iʼm not going to plunder it from you or shamelessly ask for a share.”

Davisʼs words caused Valley Master Jade Aurora to be at a loss. Her eyes seemed to be searching for something before she lightly raised her hand.

”Then let me repay you for saving my disciple and me. Although I canʼt give it to you completely as I need it, Iʼll share this pond with you.”

Davis raised his hand and rubbed his chin, appearing contemplative. Glancing at the dense air of time that shaped into liquid, he felt that it would be nice if he had it, and since she was offering it in the name of repaying, he couldnʼt help but nod his head.

”Alright. I have my ladies to inform.”

Valley Master Jade Aurora looked taken aback, ”Youʼre going to bring them here?”

If he brought his women, there wouldnʼt be really enough for the two of them.

Looking at Valley Master Jade Auroraʼs expression, Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle.

”Of course not. Iʼm just letting them know that Iʼm safe in the Alternating Time Flow Valley as the surroundings here possess a strange flow of energy, blocking connections to the outside world.”

”Ah, yes~”

Valley Master Jade Aurora reacted, nodding her head in response.

She had let her Jade Lotus Valley know that she was in the Alternating Time Flow Valley but didnʼt say where she was after finding this location. As Davis said, to have found a resource here when there were so many people who have visited the Alternating Time Flow Valley from time immemorial was her good fortune.

To share it with others, even her sect members, was folly, not to mention that she had already fulfilled most of her duties as the Valley Master and even as Ivy Ariesʼs master, allowing the latter to safely reach the apex and become more powerful than her.

What was left was to strengthen her own self, and she left towards many dangerous cultivation grounds to explore, finally finding one resourceful location in the Alternating Time Flow Valley.

”Wait, for how long are you here?” Davis suddenly asked, his expression holding some doubt to her lax attitude.

”Iʼve been here for a few months already, ever since Litt- I mean, Young Valley Master Ivy returned from your Grand Alstreim City.”

Davis gawked, ”So you arenʼt aware of the Calamity Lightʼs activity?”

”What!?”

Valley Master Jade Auroraʼs facial expression fell. Her heart skipped a beat as she couldnʼt help but ask him, ”What do you mean? Did the calamity descend!?”

She thought he was jesting, but his expression that was tinged with disbelief towards her ignorance made her heart clench.

Davis pursed his lips before he explained what had happened.

”Donʼt worry. Itʼs nothing much of concern, at least for the moment. Otherwise, I wouldnʼt be here.”

”Still, Young Valley Master Ivy is in charge of the sect now. I let her gain experience with the workings of the sect, but if the Calamity Light has begun descending, she wonʼt be able to protect the sect all by herself… I have to go...”

Valley Master Jade Aurora seemed deeply worried, unable to let go of her concerns.

”And? If you go, what could you do exactly?”

Davisʼs voice sounded cold, catching Valley Master Jade Aurora off-guard.

”Itʼs better for you to stay here and comprehend Time Laws. When you can re-manifest an Imposing Rune through Time Laws or even your specialty Water Laws, that is when you could help your disciple. Otherwise, you would just be a burden.”

”…”

Valley Master Jade Aurora appeared dumbfounded before Davis wryly smiled.

”Oh, right. Itʼs not my place to advise a person with many years of experience like you. Do as you please.”

”Itʼs fine.”

However, Valley Master Jade Aurora waved her hand.

”Sometimes, experience acts as a constraint and traps your freedom of thought, narrowing it down to be inflexible at times. Itʼs always better to listen to someone elseʼs opinion, preferably youths such as you who come up in cultivation, and then check if there is anything at fault, and I didnʼt find anything in yours. After all, the whole reason I came here was to become stronger so I could stop being a hindrance.”

Davisʼs eyes couldnʼt help but raise. He thought that the characters of the Jade Lotus Valley were inflexible, but it seems that Valley Master Jade Aurora was different. But of course, he knew that if he didnʼt have the strength to back it up, his words mightʼve well been a fart.

”However, I donʼt get it.” Valley Master Jade Auroraʼs voice suddenly became solemn, ”Itʼs better for you to have me leave so that you can enjoy this resource all by yourself.”

Her eyes closely stared, her pupils fixed on his face as though she was trying to find a lie. Her starry black eyes and smooth blue hair truly did make her look transcendental that Davis abruptly smiled.

”Maybe itʼs because I have some thoughts on you?”

”…!?”
