Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2045: Perfect-Tier Pill?

The karmic sin was bright red in color, while the karmic virtue was bright gold, vastly different from the shade of white he had seen on the Karmic Guardian Emperor and the Mandate Emperor.

Strictly speaking, Davis had collected more karmic virtue than karmic sin because karmic virtue was harder to accumulate, and not because the amount of karmic virtue the Mandate Emperor and the Karmic Guardian Emperor gathered in their lifetime was low as the both of them possessed thirty-three meters of white aura karmic virtue, but he could also tell that their karmic virtue was in a bottleneck for a long time, accumulating a lot.

But in the end, although the two of them have done so many good things for the people of the righteous world, the rate of increase of their karmic virtue was meager. On the other hand, if one goes and randomly kills millions of people, it is far easier to obtain karmic sin and accumulate it.

It fits with the apt saying that destruction is far easier than creation.

The karmic virtue and karmic sin swirled and entered through the back of his head, coming out of his palm, forming into a sizeable amount of bright gold hue that dazzled his eyes.

Davis felt that he could imbue the pill anytime he wanted. That feeling just existed within him as though it was an instinct. It also previously existed when he threw karmic sin at the Vast Sky Emperor, especially when he could see the karmic thread connecting them.

Like that time, Davis could also see a vague karmic thread connecting him and the pill if he squinted his eyes, and when he acted on that instinct he felt, the bright gold aura leaped onto the lustrous blue pill with the heptagonal pattern and shrunk, imbuing into it.

*Rumble!~*

Heaven and earth resounded when suddenly clouds started forming three kilometers above Davis, causing him to incline his head and look at it.

ʼThis is… the legendary Pill Tribulation…?ʼ

Davisʼs brows couldnʼt help but twitch as he witnessed this phenomenon.

Even a Perfect-Tier Pill wouldnʼt summon a Pill Tribulation, but his pill had done so, meaning that it definitely exceeded the level of a Perfect-Tier Pill because Perfect-Tier Pills wouldnʼt be able to attract one, according to the legends at least.

He would know more if he had the Thousand Pill Palace or the Glorious Pill Palaceʼs valuable knowledge, but both of them were on the way, still yet to arrive.

”Oh?” The Profound Tyrant Veined Cauldron reacted at this moment, ”As expected. Masterʼs alchemical arts is a bit lacking but extensive. Although master used some kind of special method Iʼve never seen before, master is the fourth person I have ever seen to have summoned a pill tribulation.”

In its voice were jubilation and a sense of satisfaction that said that it was proud of its master and then went further on to explain.

Apparently, the clouds gathered above were undoubtedly one of Heavenly Lightning Tribulation. However, it was said that there were only three strikes, unlike the nine strikes all races receive while undergoing many kinds of tribulations. Therefore, it was named the Pill Tribulation while the prefix ʼHeavenlyʼ was removed, although some still called it the Heavenly Pill Tribulation.

”Alright, you can explain them later. Let me defe-”

”Master, you shouldnʼt. If you want the pill to have its complete efficacy refined, then you should let it withstand the tribulation.”

Davis stood up and was about to make a move at the increasingly gathering clouds but stayed his hand at the Profound Tyrant Veined Cauldronʼs warning.

He considered his options before he nodded, looking at the lightning brewing with intensity. It was blue in color, the same as heavenly tribulation lightning. At a glance, it felt as powerful as Nightveilʼs immortal tribulation.

Davis cast a glance at the lustrous blue pill and wondered if it could endure when suddenly a resounding sound echoed as it blinded him.

*Bang!~*

Heavenly lightning struck the pill, causing Davis to take two steps back as he didnʼt want to interfere. He sensed Fallen Heaven had also hit itself at this moment, but considering that he was so close to the tiny heavenly tribulation clouds above, he felt that it couldnʼt be helped.

Nonetheless, he watched on as the pill kept sizzling after receiving the heavenly tribulation lightning strike.

ʼIs it correcting its flaws?ʼ

He low-key wondered when the clouds rumbled again.

*Bang!~*

A thin arc of heavenly lightning plunged down like a serpent and struck the Vigorous Heptagonal Emperor Soul Pill, causing it to tremble heavily as though it was going to break.

Davis gulped as he saw that this lightningʼs prowess had already reached a level that Nightveil wouldnʼt be able to defend against. At this rate, his pill was not going to be destroyed, right?

As he watched it increasingly shake before finally coming to a stop, he inwardly heaved a sigh of relief. Gritting his teeth, he stayed his hand from the next strike that quickly formed and plunged with a world-ending rumble.

The third and supposedly last arc of heavenly lightning fell, its image carved in the shape of a falling dragon.

*Bang!~*

Heaven and earth rumbled along with the Vigorous Heptagonal Emperor Soul Pill as they heavily shook. A few cracks appeared on the pillʼs surface upon being struck by that deadly lightning, causing Davisʼs expression to become unsightly.

Had he made a mistake in overestimating the pillʼs defenses?

However, he abruptly noticed that they were not cracks but the heptagonal patterns of the pill becoming more refined, gleaming with sharpness.

At this time, the tiny clouds three kilometers above him started to leave, an obvious sign of the tribulation cloud dispersing. However, Davisʼs eyes narrowed because the pill disappeared from his gaze, but he did not panic and reached out his hands, soul force extending from his palm as it turned into a big hand before it swiped at an empty space a kilometer away from him.

The hand made out of his soul force returned, restoring into his palm.

Davis held the Vigorous Heptagonal Emperor Soul Pill with his two fingers and saw that it was struggling against his hold, trying to escape.

ʼIt has formed a semblance of sentience… purely acting on instincts...ʼ

Davis became captivated by the Vigorous Heptagonal Emperor Soul Pill in his hand. It tried to break out, but it was of no use in front of his martial might.

ʼWoah, what physical force...ʼ

Davis had to admit that it was a monstrous pill if it could make him use the full strength of his fingers clad with dragon scales to hold it. Moreover, he could feel his soul being attacked, but it was more of a touch more than anything because his soul was so powerful that he barely felt a thing.

ʼI see… its power is derived from its main ingredients...ʼ

Davis thought that the Waterfall Worn Shadow Herb granted its physical strength while the other three main ingredients granted the ability to attack souls.

Nonetheless, a few moments later, it exhausted its energy, obediently staying in his grasp.

Davisʼs lips curved into a devilish smile once he noticed that it no longer struggled, probably having given up on escaping.

”Master, congratulations on concocting an Ascended-Tier Pill.”

”…”

Davis raised his head and looked at the Profound Tyrant Veined Cauldron, his eyes blinking innocently as if asking what kind of pill this so-called Ascended-Tier Pill was.
