Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1478: Chapter 1478: The Heartbroken Police Officer

Liu Ming’s entire life had been built on the foundation of the Ye family. Without them, what was he? Even with the embezzled money in his pocket, he was nothing, and besides, he couldn’t even hold on to that money.

Ye Fei was truly going to deal with him, and he was genuinely angry. So, Liu Ming, who had been arrested, was desperately trying to come up with a plan. He managed to borrow a phone, intending to call his cousin, but as soon as she picked up and heard his voice, she coldly said, ”Deal with your mess,” and hung up.

Liu Ming immediately understood his cousin’s stance. He wasn’t ready to give up yet and called his parents’ home. His parents happened to be there and answered the phone, asking nervously, ”Son, did something happen? Your sister told us to come over and said she had something important to tell us. Judging by her tone, it seems like a big deal.”

Liu Ming’s mother, who was also on the line, urgently asked, ”Is everything okay, son? What’s going on? You’re doing well now, so give us a hint. We don’t want to say or do the wrong thing. Our family is relying on your sister now, so don’t mess up. Focus on your career, and once you’re successful, we’ll have more leverage.”

Before Liu Ming could say anything, his parents had already rambled on, making him feel even more miserable.

He was frantically thinking about what his cousin, who had climbed the social ladder, was planning to do by gathering the family.

”Son... why aren’t you saying anything? Is my phone broken?” Liu Ming’s father, puzzled by the silence on the other end, asked after waiting for a while.

”The phone can’t be broken. Give it to me; I’ll talk to our son. Maybe there’s no signal here!” Liu Ming’s mother grabbed the phone and said, ”Hello? Son, can you hear me?”

Liu Ming was overwhelmed with emotions. He suddenly burst into tears and cried into the phone, ”Mom, save me!”

This cry completely stunned Liu Ming’s mother. She quickly asked, ”Son, what’s wrong? Tell me what happened.”

Liu Ming’s father, hearing this, also panicked and grabbed the phone, demanding loudly, ”What happened?”

Liu Ming, crying uncontrollably, said, ”Mom and Dad, you have to beg my cousin to save me. I’ve been arrested by the police. It was my brother-in-law who had me arrested.”

Even at this point, he still didn’t tell the whole story, hoping to use family ties to manipulate his cousin and get himself out of trouble.

Even the police officer nearby couldn’t help but roll his eyes. He grabbed the phone before Liu Ming could finish speaking, hung up, and looked at him with disdain, not giving him a chance to continue deceiving.

Liu Ming didn’t dare to argue with the police. His phone was taken, and he didn’t have time to say more.

Meanwhile, Liu Ming’s parents made several calls back. The police officer who had lent the phone answered once, coldly saying, ”This is my phone. Your son is charged with rape,” and then hung up.

Now, Liu Ming’s parents were in a panic. They didn’t understand what had happened, and they couldn’t get in touch with their son. They hurriedly rushed to Ming Yue Xin’s house.

Ming Yue Xin did explain the situation to Liu Ming’s parents, and they finally understood what had happened.

But their reactions were very strange, especially Liu Ming’s mother, who was also Ming Yue Xin’s aunt.

She ran over and knelt in front of Ming Yue Xin, pleading, ”Yue Xin, please, save your brother. He’s still young, and it was an unintentional mistake. It wasn’t intentional. Give him a chance. If he goes to prison for a few years, it’ll be too late when he gets out!”

Other members of the Ming family arrived one after another. Seeing Liu Ming’s mother like this, some were moved and joined in, saying, ”Yeah, Yue Xin, you’re doing well now. If you can help, you should. He is your brother, after all. If he goes to prison, these two old people will be ruined. They only have one child, and they’re counting on him to get married and have kids.”

”It’s not a big deal. The Ye family is so powerful now. It can’t be that hard to save someone. Just pay more in compensation. It’s not a big issue!”

”That woman must be no good. Our Liu Ming is a vice general manager.

Why would he need to rape someone? It must have been she who seduced him, trying to extort money from him. I’m telling you, people these days are all bad. There are all kinds of people out there.”

As soon as this person spoke, Ming Yue Xin felt a chill run down her spine. Her eyes widened as she looked at the relatives around her. She suddenly felt terrified.

Yes, she was now secure for the rest of her life, with the man she loved, and she would have children. She wouldn’t have to worry for several generations, but that was her business.

These relatives, however, were benefiting from her success but didn’t know how to be grateful.

Instead, they had the audacity to...

With Liu Ming committing such a despicable act, not only were these family members not angry, but they were also... making these chillingly indifferent remarks and spewing nonsense. The more Ming Yue Xin listened, the more her heart ached. She even felt a pain in her chest.

Unfortunately, these family members didn’t understand anything. They all had a narrow, self-interested mindset and never considered others’ feelings.

The more Ming Yue Xin listened, the angrier she became. She finally couldn’t hold back and burst out at these relatives, shouting, ”Enough! You people who just spoke, are you even human? That’s a rape case, and you want me to cover for Liu Ming? What are you thinking?”

Her shout silenced the noisy room. Everyone stared at Ming Yue Xin in a daze.

After a few seconds, someone couldn’t help but speak up.

This person was an elder of Ming Yue Xin, who felt insulted by being scolded by a younger generation.

He said, ”Ming Yue Xin, how dare you speak to us like that? We are your elders!”
