Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1177: Chapter 1177: Movements from All Sides (2)

Qi Lao Ye was a man of great ambition. Although he was already one of the most core figures in the country, he was by no means satisfied with that.

Unlike others who, upon reaching such a position, would mostly put aside their interests and focus on the nation as a whole, Qi Lao Ye’s desires only grew stronger with age.

It wasn’t enough for him to hold his current position; he also wanted his son to reach the pinnacle in the future.

Therefore, he had always been eager to extend his influence into the southeast, the most developed region in the country. He believed that controlling the southeast would significantly enhance the Qi family’s clout.

However, for the past dozen years, the southeast had been under the influence of Zhou Lao Ye. Although Zhou Lao Ye’s ranking among the core figures was not as high as Qi Lao Ye’s, he wielded much stronger power.

Thus, even though Zhou Lao Ye did not aim to control the entire southeast like Qi Lao Ye did, the latter still dared not interfere easily.

In recent years, although Zhou Lao Ye had returned to the capital and transferred most of his connections there, he had left two of his direct subordinates in the southeast: Liu Fengyi in politics and Liu Junyi in the military.

Faced with this situation, Qi Lao Ye had no choice but to change his strategy. He encouraged his grandson to pursue Zhou Tingting, Zhou Lao Ye’s only granddaughter, hoping to achieve his goal indirectly.

However, just as the younger generation had grown up and Qi Lao Ye was about to take action, Ye Fei suddenly emerged.

Within a few months, he had solidified his control over the three seas of the southeast and even the entire region, making it a unified and tightly controlled area.

His grip was a hundred times stronger than when Zhou Lao Ye was in charge, completely shattering Qi Lao Ye’s hopes.

Moreover, this young man seemed to possess some unknown power, which made the entire core group wary of him. Qi Lao Ye, therefore, dared not make any rash moves.

Nevertheless, Qi Lao Ye was still unwilling to give up on the southeast and had been closely monitoring the situation there, especially any news about Ye Fei. That was why he learned about the rape accusation against Ye Fei in the first place.

This news greatly excited Qi Lao Ye. In the past, Ye Fei had also committed illegal acts, but those were all done in secret and could not be exposed to the public.

This time, however, the media was immediately alerted, and even if the Wanghai authorities wanted to cover it up, it would be impossible.

However, a single charge of rape was far too insignificant to completely bring Ye Fei down.

If Qi Lao Ye were to act rashly, once Ye Fei recovered, it would be something the Qi family could not withstand. But this opportunity was too rare, and Qi Lao Ye was reluctant to let it go.

Just as Qi Lao Ye was troubled by his thoughts, a sound of a door opening suddenly came from outside.

The Qi family had strict rules. Unless there was a special circumstance, the family members were not allowed to return home after ten o’clock at night. It was now already past eleven, which clearly meant someone had violated the rule set by Qi Lao Ye himself.

Coupled with his current trouble, he got up and walked out of his study to see who dared to break the rule.

As soon as he stepped out, he saw his beloved grandson, Qi Shilong, sneaking in quietly. He couldn’t help but ask sternly, ”Where have you been?”

Qi Shilong was startled to see his grandfather. Based on past experience, Qi Lao Ye would have been asleep by this hour. He didn’t expect the old man to change his routine today and couldn’t help but feel unlucky.

However, in front of Qi Lao Ye, Qi Shilong dared not lie. He was well aware that his success and prominence outside were all thanks to his grandfather. So, he answered honestly, ”Grandpa, I went to get some information.”

”What kind of information?” Qi Lao Ye asked with a stern expression, knowing that his grandson had a bit of a playboy reputation and suspected that the information wouldn’t be anything proper.

Qi Shilong knew that the higher-ups were very cautious about Ye Fei. After receiving the news, he had not shared it with his family but planned to handle it himself.

But now that he had been caught by Qi Lao Ye, he dared not hide it anymore and reluctantly said, ”They are information to deal with Ye Fei.”

”You want to deal with Ye Fei? The Ye Fei from the southeast?” Qi Lao Ye’s eyebrows furrowed as he quickly asked.

”Yes, that’s the one. This guy is the biggest obstacle in my pursuit of Zhou Tingting. With him around, it’s hard for me to make any progress with her!” Qi Shilong said, using the pursuit of Zhou Tingting as an excuse, which was actually a command given by his grandfather.

Qi Lao Ye, however, was not concerned with these details. He simply asked, ”Is the information you obtained strong enough?”

Seeing that his grandfather accepted his reason, Qi Shilong felt very pleased. He proudly took out a folded photograph from the file in his hand and said, ”Grandpa, take a look at this photo first.”

Qi Lao Ye nodded and turned his attention to the large photograph that his grandson unfolded.

It was a wedding photo. The man in the photo was dressed in a black suit, with an extraordinary and handsome appearance, truly a modern-day Pan An or Lu Bu.

The woman in a pure white wedding dress was even more stunningly beautiful, so ethereal that even the octogenarian Qi Lao Ye couldn’t help but be captivated for a moment.

However, Qi Lao Ye had long passed the age of being infatuated with beauty. Power was his greatest desire. So, after a brief moment of distraction, he focused on the key point and narrowed his eyes, saying, ”Isn’t this Ye Fei and his mother, Liu Yiru?”

”That’s right, it’s them. Ye Fei looks so decent, but who would have thought he would engage in an incestuous relationship with his own mother!” Qi Shilong said resentfully, with a hint of sourness in his tone.

Ye Fei was such a lucky guy, not only powerful himself but also blessed with a mother as beautiful as Liu Yiru.

If Qi Shilong’s mother were as beautiful, he might have considered something similar. Unfortunately, his mother, though not unattractive, was far less attractive than Li Minghua, let alone the extraordinarily beautiful Liu Yiru.

Seeing his grandfather carefully examining the life-sized photo, Qi Shilong continued to show off his findings, ”What do you think, Grandpa? With this, we can definitely ruin Ye Fei’s reputation and stop him from competing with me for Zhou Tingting, right?”

To his surprise, Qi Lao Ye shook his head. ”If all we have is this photo, it doesn’t prove anything. Do we have anything else?”

”Of course we do!” Qi Shilong had been waiting for this question.

”As soon as I heard about this, I sent people to the northwest. Not only did we get this photo, but we also obtained many witnesses. They can all testify that Ye Fei and his mother held a wedding there at that time, and they even attended the wedding banquet. My people recorded the conversations with those witnesses.”
