Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 983: Pretty Boy

As they talked, the two of them arrived beside Ye Feiʼs car.

Upon seeing the brand of the car, Lan Wen, who had been excited to try driving, suddenly changed her expression and hesitated, saying, ”Uh, maybe we should just look for a taxi?”

”Whatʼs the matter?” Ye Fei was puzzled by Lan Wenʼs reaction.

”Are you seriously clueless or just pretending?” Lan Wen gave Ye Fei an exasperated look.

”Can you even drive this thing there? If Zhang Tao sees it, heʼll probably cry from shock!”

It was understandable why Lan Wen said that.

The Liu familyʼs villa garage held no fewer than ten cars, ranging from ordinary models to world-class luxury vehicles.

Today, Ye Fei had originally planned to attend a high-level meeting at the Lingyun Club headquarters, so he naturally chose a better car—a top-of-the-line Rolls-Royce Phantom, worth over ten million.

Not only is this car rare in this small county, but itʼs also uncommon in a world-class metropolis like Wanghai.

Fortunately, he parked the car in a secluded spot, and since it was the first day of the Lunar New Year, the streets were almost deserted; otherwise, it would have definitely attracted a crowd.

For Ye Fei, a car was just a means of transportation. He didnʼt care about its price or even its speed. If he needed to get somewhere quickly, neither a car nor an airplane could compare to his ability to continuously teleport.

Only then did Ye Fei notice the issue. After thinking for a moment, he said, ”How about this: weʼll park the car near the hotel you booked. If your colleagues donʼt see it, that should be fine.”

”Alright,” Lan Wen agreed to Ye Feiʼs suggestion and immediately cheered up.

Growing up, she had only driven a coach car at the driving school. She had never touched anything else.

Now, for her first time officially driving on the road, she was handling a multi-million-dollar luxury car. This made her both nervous and incredibly excited.

Since it was her first time on the road and she had obtained her driverʼs license over two years ago, the skills she had learned at the driving school were quite rusty. As a result, she drove slowly and somewhat unsteadily.

Ye Fei, however, didnʼt mind at all.

Given his abilities, there was no way Lan Wen could get into trouble. Even if something did happen, he could ensure she would be unharmed. As for the car, it didnʼt matter if it got damaged.

Lan Wenʼs company had booked the only three-star hotel in the county.

Upon arriving nearby, Lan Wen found a secluded parking spot and parked the car. She and Ye Fei then walked over together.

When they arrived, the hotel was already filled with quite a few people, some from Lan Wenʼs company and others she didnʼt recognize, but they were all there for the gathering since the hotel had been booked for the night.

”Hey, isnʼt that our companyʼs beautiful Jingwen? Why are you just getting here? I must say, itʼs quite something that you walked all the way here. I remember your house is pretty far from here, right?” As soon as Ye Fei and Lan Wen reached the hotel entrance, they heard a sarcastic voice.

Ye Fei turned to see a woman in her mid-twenties with a rather sweet appearance, looking at Lan Wen with a mocking expression.

She was also jingling a set of car keys in her hand. However, the womanʼs beauty was entirely made up.

Even with her careful grooming, she still couldnʼt compare to Lan Wen, who looked stunning without any makeup.

Lan Wen glanced at the woman and ignored her, pulling Ye Fei past her and into the hotel. She then whispered to Ye Fei, ”This woman seems to have a thing for Zhang Tao, so sheʼs always targeting me. What a pain!”

”Is that so? Then why doesnʼt Zhang Tao accept her? I think theyʼd make a pretty good match,” Ye Fei said with a straight face.

Lan Wen naturally understood what Ye Fei meant by ”good match.” It made sense; both the woman and Zhang Tao were rather ostentatious.

Ye Fei wasnʼt wrong, but his serious expression made Lan Wen burst into giggles. She unconsciously linked her arm with Ye Feiʼs.

Lan Wenʼs non-confrontational approach left the woman feeling like she had punched a cloud of cotton, extremely frustrated. However, she didnʼt dare to keep pressing the issue, otherwise, if Zhang Tao found out, she would be in trouble. So, she could only glare at Lan Wen and Ye Fei as they walked away.

Unexpectedly, after just a few steps, she saw Lan Wen whispering to the man and then linking her arm with his. The woman was overjoyed and quickly ran in front of Ye Fei and Lan Wen, turning around to block their way. She wanted to make a scene so that Zhang Tao could see what was happening.

It was then that the woman noticed Ye Feiʼs appearance and was taken aback. She could swear she had never seen such a handsome man in her entire life.

This made her even more jealous of Lan Wen. Moreover, since Ye Fei had walked over with Lan Wen, he didnʼt have much money or influence.

No matter how handsome he was, he wasnʼt her type, so she didnʼt mind taking him down along with Lan Wen.

She then shouted, ”Oh, I thought Miss Lan Wen was so pure, but it turns out she has a man now. This young guy seems a few years younger than you. Could he be your kept pretty boy? I wonder what Brother Tao would think if he saw this.”

Being called a ”pretty boy” didnʼt faze Ye Fei, but Lan Wen was immediately upset. Her pretty face turned stern as she snapped, ”Chu Hong, watch your mouth! First, heʼs my brother, not some pretty boy. Second, I have no relationship with Zhang Tao. Even if I did have a pretty boy, itʼs none of his business!”

Normally, upon hearing Lan Wen deny any relationship with Zhang Tao, the woman named Chu Hong should have been happy. But it had to be said that this woman seemed a bit deranged.

In her mind, Lan Wen had to like Zhang Tao and then lose to her in the competition—that would be the perfect outcome.

Chu Hong let out a cold laugh and was about to say something else when her face suddenly lit up with joy. She saw Zhang Tao striding in from outside and quickly waved to get his attention, calling out, ”Brother Tao, come quick! Look whoʼs keeping a pretty boy!” She even pointed at Lan Wen, who was still linked with Ye Feiʼs arm.

Zhang Tao walked over with a dark expression. He forced a smile at Ye Fei and Lan Wen, then, in an uncharacteristic move, slapped Chu Hong hard across the face and shouted, ”Ye Fei is an important guest I invited. How dare you insult him? Are you asking for trouble?”

After reprimanding Chu Hong, Zhang Tao turned back to Ye Fei and Lan Wen with a smile and said, ”Jingwen, Ye Fei, this woman is out of her mind. Donʼt take her seriously.”
