Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 974: The Development of Ling Yun

Seeing the familiar courtyard again, Ye Fei was suddenly overwhelmed with nostalgia for Aunt Zhang. He had initially thought about turning into the courtyard to visit her, but then he remembered that it was the New Year.

Naturally, Aunt Zhang would have gone back to her hometown to celebrate, so she definitely wouldnʼt be there. With that thought, he continued driving towards Lingyun Nightclub, but an idea had already begun to form in his mind.

The ride was silent, and soon Ye Fei arrived at the entrance of the nightclub. Ever since Lingyun Society had become the dominant force in Wanghai under Ye Feiʼs leadership, Lingyun Nightclub had changed its operating hours from opening in the afternoon and closing in the early morning to being open twenty-four hours a day.

The business was booming, with a constant flow of people day and night.

However, today was much quieter. It was the first day of the Lunar New Year. Although the Spring Festival was becoming less festive in China, it was still the most important holiday. Almost no one would go out to have fun on this day.

Even if they did, it would be in vain because Ye Fei had instructed that the nightclub would be closed for three days during the holiday.

Not only were there fewer customers, but the number of gang members was also significantly reduced compared to usual.

Even Ye Xuan had taken her daughter back to Jinhai City, where she still had some relatives. So, at the headquarters, only Zhang Yide was in charge, along with some brothers who, like him, had no family ties.

Ye Feiʼs visit today was just a formality. He had absolute trust in Zhang Yide and Ye Xuan, and the so-called year-end summary had already been taken care of by them.

Before Ye Feiʼs car had even come to a complete stop in the parking lot, four gang members greeted him with utmost respect.

They were not artificial experts but ordinary brothers. Yet, their reverence for Ye Fei was identical to that of the artificial experts who had been programmed with absolute loyalty.

Although Ye Fei had always delegated tasks of all sizes to Zhang Yide, Ye Xuan, and the bald guy, effectively becoming a hands-off boss, the old-timers in the gang still worshipped him immensely, even regarding him as a deity.

This level of admiration was built on the foundation of two battles. During the Jinhai City battle, Ye Fei had transformed into a barbarian, defeating all the experts and causing them to flee in disarray. Later, these loyal gang members learned that the mysterious expert was none other than their boss.

And just before the New Year, Ye Fei had gone to the United States and single-handedly killed one of the ”Four Gods” of the Holy War Organization, the Thunder God.

This feat further solidified the admiration of those who knew about it. So now, Ye Fei was more than just the boss of Lingyun Society; he had become a figure of faith for everyone.

In the underground office of Lingyun Nightclub, Ye Fei met Zhang Yide, the elder who had dedicated his entire life to Lingyun Society.

The saying ”When one is happy, one feels refreshed” couldnʼt be more accurate. In the past half year, Lingyun Society had been thriving, expanding at a pace far exceeding that of the past few decades.

For Zhang Yide, who considered Lingyun Society his home, this was undoubtedly the best news. Despite being extremely busy these past few months, he hadnʼt aged but had become even younger and more spirited than before.

However, being an elder, he couldnʼt help but be a bit talkative, especially Zhang Yide, who had come to regard Ye Fei as his grandson.

The first thing he did upon seeing Ye Fei was not to praise him but to scold him for being reckless and challenging a god-level expert from the Holy War Organization.

He worried about what would happen if something went wrong and how Ye Fei would face his father and grandfather in the afterlife. He went on like this for nearly ten minutes before finally letting Ye Fei off the hook.

Ye Fei understood that Zhang Yideʼs scolding stemmed from deep concern, so he didnʼt get angry. He smiled and flattered the old man until he turned from anger to joy.

Then, Zhang Yide recounted the summarized affairs to Ye Fei, smiling all the while. Despite his earlier scolding, he was very satisfied with this young man who always seemed to create miracles.

Speaking of which, there were no major events in the Lingyun Society. It had now completely taken control of the entire southeast and was slowly expanding outward, albeit at a slower pace. Its achievements abroad were more significant.

Following Japan, the surrounding smaller countries had also fallen under the control of Lingyun Society one by one.

For example, countries that used to cause trouble for the motherland, such as Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia, had now become Ye Feiʼs loyal followers and dared not make any more trouble at sea.

Even a superpower like the United States had become a foothold for Lingyun Society thanks to Ye Feiʼs battle with the Thunder God.

However, Ye Fei didnʼt really care about these matters. The reason he had been expanding Lingyun Societyʼs influence was for the women and family members around him.

Only by being strong enough could he ensure their carefree lives. In short, they were the driving force behind Ye Feiʼs continuous efforts.

Afterward, Ye Fei chatted with Zhang Yide for a while and met with the brothers who had stayed behind before leaving. He had originally planned to have lunch with everyone, but he had other ideas in mind, so he would have to wait until Ye Xuan returned to gather with everyone.

Exiting the nightclub, Ye Fei parked his car by the roadside and took out his phone to call his mother.

”Son, whatʼs up?” The call was quickly answered, and Liu Yiruʼs somewhat languid voice came through, clearly still sleepy.

”Mom, did Aunt Zhang go back to her hometown for the New Year?” Ye Fei asked, even though he was almost certain of the answer. He just wanted to confirm to avoid a wasted trip.

”You ungrateful brat, you finally remembered Aunt Zhang?” Liu Yiru giggled coquettishly. ”She did go back. She left when you were in the United States. She seemed quite disappointed that she didnʼt get to see you before she left.”

Ye Fei felt a warmth in his heart and said, ”Thatʼs why I want to go see her. I probably wonʼt be able to come back tonight to be with you all.”

After saying this, Ye Fei had expected his mother to feel down, but to his surprise, she happily replied, ”Thatʼs great! Donʼt come back at all. You naughty boy, you were so fierce last night that Mom is still a bit sore. Your Shui Ying and the two sisters are still swollen and can barely move. Thereʼs no way they can handle any more of your antics!”

Ye Fei couldnʼt help but feel a bit embarrassed. Reflecting on last night, he indeed had been a bit too excited.

Although they had also been extremely excited and able to endure his insatiable demands, the aftereffects had now set in. He believed it would take a few days for them to recover.

However, in a way, this was for the best. After all, he would be very busy these next few days and wouldnʼt have much time to spend with them.
