Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 977: Generous Lan Wen

If Ye Fei hadnʼt seen those photos earlier, he might have needed a moment to recall who the girl was, but now he recognized her at first glance. She was Aunt Zhangʼs only daughter, Sister Lan Wen, whom he had met once when he was a child.

”Who are you?” Seeing the handsome boy sitting in her home, Lan Wen was taken aback for a moment, then asked.

The young man who entered behind Lan Wen, who looked to be around twenty-five or six, was fairly handsome and had a gentle smile on his face. He also looked at Ye Fei with confusion, and a hint of hostility flashed in his eyes.

Ye Fei stood up and walked a few steps with a ”struggling” gait, then said with a smile, ”Sister Jingwen, donʼt you remember me?”

This action of Ye Fei instantly awakened some memories in Lan Wen, and she immediately recognized the frail boy who seemed like he could be blown over by the wind.

A look of joy crossed her pretty face as she quickly walked over to Ye Fei, grabbed his arm with both hands, and said, ”Oh my, youʼre Ye Fei! Itʼs been years, and youʼve grown so much. Looking back at you then, I thought youʼd never grow up. I was even sad about it for a while. I never expected you to become such a strong young man.” She then patted Ye Feiʼs solid shoulder with her small hand.

Ye Feiʼs face turned a bit dark. Sister Lan Wenʼs personality was quite similar to his third sisterʼs, and she spoke without any filter.

Seeing Lan Wen being so affectionate with Ye Fei, the hostility in the young manʼs eyes intensified, and his expression darkened. He suddenly interjected, ”Jingwen, who is this young man?”

Lan Wen didnʼt notice the young manʼs displeasure at all. She continued to examine Ye Fei up and down and casually replied, ”Heʼs a relative of mine. Itʼs been six or seven years since we last met. By the way, you were only ten when we last met, right?” The last sentence was directed at Ye Fei.

”Yeah,” Ye Fei smiled. ”Time flies.”

Hearing their conversation, the young manʼs hostility towards Ye Fei dissipated significantly.

When he first saw Ye Fei, he had felt an intense sense of crisis. Although Ye Fei looked a bit younger than Lan Wen, his appearance and demeanor were so outstanding that the usually self-assured young man couldnʼt help but feel inferior.

If someone like Ye Fei were to compete with him, he really wouldnʼt have much confidence.

But now, hearing Lan Wen say that Ye Fei was just a relative and realizing from her words that this boy who made him feel so threatened was only sixteen or seventeen, he immediately felt relieved.

At this moment, the voices outside also caught Aunt Zhangʼs attention in the kitchen. After finishing frying a dish, she came out, first took a look at the young man, and then said to her daughter, ”Youʼre back!”

”Mm-hmm,” Lan Wen temporarily left Ye Feiʼs side and introduced the young man, ”Mom, this is my colleague, Zhang Tao.”

”Hello, madam,” the young man named Zhang Tao greeted Aunt Zhang respectfully and handed over the items he had been carrying since he entered. ”Iʼm just paying a visit for the first time. Please donʼt mind the modest gift.”

Although his words were humble, when Zhang Tao handed over the gift, he deliberately let the brand name on the box show through the bag. They were all very expensive health products. Just these few boxes were worth tens of thousands of dollars.

If it were an ordinary housewife, perhaps she would have been impressed by these gifts, but who was Aunt Zhang? She had been living in the top-tier mansion of the Liu family for more than a decade. How could such a small gift catch her eye?

She casually took the bag, placed it on the cabinet nearby, and said to everyone, ”You young people, chat for a while. Iʼll call you when I finish cooking these dishes, and we can have dinner.” Then she turned back to the kitchen.

Seeing that his gift hadnʼt made much of an impact, Zhang Tao was a bit disappointed, but he didnʼt lose heart. Since he was already inside, he wasnʼt worried about not having a chance to build a relationship.

However, just as he was about to talk to Lan Wen, she had already pulled Ye Fei to sit down and asked, ”How are your elder sisters doing?”

Although they had only spent a few days together back then, Lan Wen had hit it off particularly well with Ye Siqi and Ye Siyao, which was quite rare.

After all, while Ye Siqi was one thing, Ye Siyao was usually very cold towards outsiders. The fact that Lan Wen had gained her friendship in just a few days could be considered a stroke of luck.

But their friendship had to be separated because of Aunt Zhangʼs little stubbornness.

At that time, Lan Wen was already eighteen and had just finished the college entrance examination.

Originally, according to Liu Yiruʼs idea, she was supposed to go to Wanghai to study, and after graduation, she could work at the Liu Group.

But Aunt Zhang felt that she had already troubled Liu Yiru a lot by getting such good treatment at the Liu family.

If it werenʼt for the deep bond with everyone, she wouldnʼt have had the face to continue working there. So, she not only refused to let her daughter go to Wanghai but also didnʼt allow her to visit there during holidays, which made Lan Wen and the Ye sisters very upset.

”Theyʼre all doing well. My eldest sister is helping my mom now, and my second sister has opened her own martial arts school. Theyʼre both very busy, but they miss you when they have free time,” Ye Fei said with a smile.

Lan Wen humphed, ”If they miss me so much, why donʼt they come to see me? These two girls are not good friends. My mom wonʼt let me go to your place, but your mom canʼt stop them from coming over, can she?”

Ye Fei replied with a wry smile, ”Itʼs not that they donʼt want to come, itʼs just that they donʼt have the time. You know, the environment over there hasnʼt been good these past few years, and they have a lot on their minds.”

Lan Wen naturally understood Ye Feiʼs words. Since Aunt Zhang was already considered part of Ye Feiʼs family, they didnʼt hide anything from her.

The mother and daughter were well aware of the internal and external troubles that the Liu and Ye families had faced over the years. Moreover, Lan Wen wasnʼt really upset with Ye Siqi and Ye Siyao; she was just venting.

But to Zhang Tao, who overheard their conversation, it sounded very different. Ye Feiʼs mention of a poor environment was misinterpreted by him as poverty.

This made him start scheming in his mind, given how incredibly handsome Ye Fei was, his sisters must be very beautiful as well.

Even if they werenʼt as stunning as Lan Wen, they couldnʼt be far behind.

If he could win Lan Wen over, not only would he get a world-class beauty that everyone envied, but he might also be able to use his financial resources to pursue her friends!
