Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 277: Wei Qingʼs Surprise

The sky had just begun to lighten, and even the special forces soldiers in the military compound hadnʼt yet risen for their morning exercises.

Liu Junyi, who had regained her strength with a recovery pill, was already out of bed. Her early rise was motivated by two reasons.

First, she couldnʼt bear to leave Ye Fei waiting outside for long, and she didnʼt want to miss a single moment she could spend with him.

Their previous separation had been unavoidable for the greater good, but now that the opportunity was here, she was determined not to waste any time with her beloved. Second, she wanted to avoid running into Wei Qing.

Although Liu Junyi and Wei Qing had become close friends, and Liu Junyi didnʼt oppose Wei Qingʼs feelings for Ye Fei, she still didnʼt want Wei Qing tagging along during her dates with him.

It wasnʼt out of jealousy; rather, in this unfamiliar place, she wanted to let loose and enjoy some quality time with Ye Fei as a real couple.

With Wei Qing around, that wouldnʼt be possible—at least not until Wei Qing became Ye Feiʼs woman in earnest. Until then, Liu Junyi didnʼt want to reveal her nephewʼs special relationship.

”Sis Junyi, why are you up so early?”

As soon as Liu Junyi descended the stairs, a familiar, sweet voice shattered her dream of solitude with Ye Fei.

”Sis Wei Qing, youʼre up early too?” After more than ten days together, Liu Junyi knew this voice well. Even if she hadnʼt, she would have recognized it, as only the two of them lived in this small building.

Ever since she had learned of Wei Qingʼs feelings, Liu Junyi had considered her a potential partner for Ye Fei.

First, she knew Ye Fei had a soft spot for Wei Qing, and Liu Junyi, who was already head over heels for him, would naturally accept any woman he liked.

Second, she wanted Ye Fei to gain more control over the powerful Special Forces in the capital through Wei Qing.

Especially after last night, when she had struggled to keep up with Ye Fei on her own, Liu Junyi had thought about having another woman, like Ye Yunqi, to help take care of him.

So, although being interrupted by Wei Qing was disappointing, it wasnʼt a big deal.

Liu Junyi, who was eager to matchmake Ye Fei and Wei Qing, had planned to tell Wei Qing about Ye Feiʼs visit after spending a day alone with him.

But since Wei Qing had already run into them, she decided to be honest and said, ”Actually, Iʼm going to meet someone. Why donʼt you come with me?”

After Liu Junyi had left last night to meet her ”boyfriend,” Wei Qing hadnʼt slept well. She kept thinking about that boy she had only known for a few days.

She didnʼt know why, but despite their brief time together and her initial indifferent impression of him, she couldnʼt stop thinking about him. She wasnʼt sure if it was a crush, as she had never been in love before.

All she knew was that her heart would race whenever she thought of him, and recalling their moments together filled her with a sweet longing to be with him again.

Carrying this bittersweet mix of emotions, Wei Qing had drifted in and out of sleep until dawn. Unable to lie down any longer, she decided to get up and do some exercises before the teamʼs morning drills to clear her head.

She didnʼt expect to run into Liu Junyi, who was also up early, and now Liu Junyi was inviting her to meet someone.

Wei Qing assumed it was just a polite gesture, as the only people they both knew were from the Special Forces. She shook her head and said, ”No, thanks. I have training with them soon, and besides, I probably donʼt know the person youʼre meeting. I donʼt want to intrude.”

”Are you sure? Donʼt say I didnʼt warn you,” Liu Junyi said with a teasing smile, winking at her.

”Oh, and I forgot to mention, you do know the person Iʼm meeting. How about that? Are you coming?”

Wei Qingʼs heart skipped a beat. The only people they both knew were in the military compound. Could it be...?

Excitement bubbled up inside her. Despite feeling a bit embarrassed by Liu Junyiʼs playful smile, her curiosity got the better of her, and she mustered the courage to nod.

”If I know them, then Iʼll go with you, Sis Junyi.”

”Great, letʼs go then. No need to ask for leave. Iʼll just let your dad know when we get back,” Liu Junyi said, noticing Wei Qingʼs shy demeanor and deciding not to tease her further.

”Okay,” Wei Qing agreed, following Liu Junyi towards the Special Forcesʼ gate. Her father, the captain of the Beijing Special Forces, had been thoroughly impressed by Liu Junyi after hearing about her exploits in the southwest.

Given Liu Junyiʼs higher rank, he never opposed her suggestions, let alone something as trivial as granting Wei Qing a day off.

Everyone in the Special Forces was well aware of Liu Junyiʼs status, so with just a nod to the guard, the two women easily left the compound.

They immediately spotted Ye Fei sitting on a nearby flower bed outside the gate.

Although Wei Qing had suspected it might be Ye Fei, seeing him there still sent a thrill through her.

Since returning, she had daydreamed about meeting him again and eagerly awaited his call, which had never come. She never expected to see him so suddenly.

She gazed intently at the figure she had been longing for, feeling a mix of emotions—excitement, joy, and a hint of melancholy, fearing that her feelings might be one-sided and that he didnʼt reciprocate.

Despite the whirlwind of thoughts in her mind, when Ye Fei approached with a smile and greeted her, Wei Qing could only manage a simple question: ”Why did you come so suddenly?”

”Iʼm in Beijing on some business, and I happened to miss both you and my aunt, so I thought Iʼd come and see you,” Ye Fei said, looking at the usually formidable sharpshooter who now seemed like a shy young girl, and smiled warmly.

”I see,” Wei Qing replied, her heart racing under Ye Feiʼs gaze. She felt a blush creeping up her face and couldnʼt help but lower her head, unsure of what to say next.

Liu Junyi, seeing Wei Qingʼs flustered state, playfully teased, ”Our nicknames are quite interesting. Iʼm Ye Feiʼs aunt, Qing calls me sister, but Ye Fei calls Qing ʼsister.ʼ How does that work out?”

”Maybe I should change that,” Ye Fei said with a smile, looking at Wei Qing. ”How about I call you ʼAunt Qingʼ from now on?”

”No!” In her haste, Wei Qingʼs objection blurted out before she could stop it. Immediately, her face flushed a deep red, and a wave of anxiety washed over her.

For the past few days, she had been on familiar terms with Liu Junyi as sisters.

The thought of calling Liu Junyi ”aunt” was utterly impossible for her.

However, the idea of Ye Fei calling her ”Aunt Qing” was equally unappealing, as it would create an unnecessary distance between them.

”What should we do then?” Ye Fei continued to tease Wei Qing, ”How about you follow my lead and call her ʼauntʼ too?”

”I...” To be honest, Wei Qing was not at all averse to following Ye Feiʼs lead and addressing his family members as he did. But admitting it felt too embarrassing.

Moreover, her impulsive objection had already revealed too much of her inner thoughts. She wondered if they had noticed and, feeling even more embarrassed, lowered her head, her face turning an even deeper shade of red.

Liu Junyi subtly gave Ye Fei a meaningful look and mouthed the words ”youʼre lucky,” then said with a smile, ”Forget it, I think we should just keep our relationships as they are for now. We can figure out the titles later.”

Relieved that she no longer had to make a difficult decision, Wei Qing let out a sigh. Ye Fei, no longer teasing her, smiled and said, ”Alright then, since itʼs getting light, why donʼt we find somewhere to grab some breakfast?”

Ye Fei, as a special member of the Special Forces, could have easily joined the two women for breakfast inside the compound.

However, considering that the capital might be the stronghold of ”that person” and that this individual could very well be monitoring Liu Junyiʼs movements, the three of them decided against returning to the compound. Instead, they walked out and found a small breakfast shop near a residential complex not far away.

”Where should we go today?”

After breakfast, Ye Fei asked the two women for their opinions.

Liu Junyi thought for a moment and said, ”Since Iʼve been in the capital, Iʼve been cooped up in the Special Forces headquarters, attending meetings with those people. I havenʼt had the chance to visit any of the famous tourist spots. How about we go see them today? What do you think, Qing?”

Wei Qing had no objections. For her, being with Ye Fei was the most important thing, no matter where they went. She smiled and said, ”Sure, Iʼll be your guide. Iʼve been to most of those places.”

Ye Fei, however, didnʼt have a particular fondness for famous tourist spots. It wasnʼt that these places were bad; in fact, the capitalʼs attractions were quite nice in terms of both scenery and historical significance.

But they were always overcrowded and chaotic, making it difficult to enjoy the views.

This was not just a problem in the capital; almost all of Longguoʼs tourist sites were the same, especially during holidays when they became as bustling as a marketplace. He couldnʼt understand why so many people would choose to visit such crowded places during their rare moments of rest.

Nevertheless, since Liu Junyi had made up her mind and it wasnʼt a holiday, it was indeed a good time to visit. He smiled and said, ”No problem, today Iʼll accompany you two beautiful ladies, even if it costs me my life!”

”Why do you look so reluctant? Do you think everyone gets this kind of opportunity?” Liu Junyi playfully rolled her eyes at Ye Fei and naturally linked her arm with his, not caring that Wei Qing was right beside them.

Wei Qing didnʼt overthink it. After all, it wasnʼt unusual for an aunt and her nephew to walk arm in arm. However, she felt too shy to do the same and walked on the other side of Liu Junyi.

Just as the three were about to set off, Ye Feiʼs phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, a smile appeared on his lips. He answered, ”Xiao Guang?”

”Itʼs me, boss. Iʼm already in the capital. How do I find you?” came the excited voice of Xiao Guang from the other end.

Xiao Guang was one of the original members who had been with Baldy from the beginning, the very one who first discovered the side effects of the device.

Ye Fei had initially worried that the somewhat lecherous Xiao Guang might be upset about losing his male capabilities, but to his surprise, Xiao Guang didnʼt seem to mind at all. Instead, he turned it into motivation for training, constantly practicing in his spare time.

His strength quickly surpassed that of Baldy, who had been the strongest but whose progress had slowed due to his many responsibilities.

Now, Xiao Guang was the strongest among their group. Like Baldy and the others, he harbored a sincere admiration for Ye Fei and was extremely excited about the opportunity to assist him.

It seemed that last night, unaware of the full story, they must have had a heated discussion before deciding to send Xiao Guang, who was now their strongest member.

”You donʼt need to find me. Iʼll send some information to your email in a bit. For now, just keep an eye on that person. Iʼll tell you what to do specifically later. If anything changes, let me know immediately,” Ye Fei instructed.

Then, realizing that with Xiao Haiʼs godfatherʼs status, there were likely skilled individuals around him, and considering his relationship with Xiao Hai, there might be someone planted around him as well, Ye Fei added, ”Xiao Guang, there might be some experts around this person. Be careful when youʼre watching him and try not to reveal yourself.”

”Donʼt worry, boss. I know what Iʼm doing!” Xiao Guang confidently replied before hanging up.

Ye Fei didnʼt say anything further because he himself hadnʼt detected any experts around Xiao Hai that day. Even if there were, they wouldnʼt pose a threat to Xiao Guang.

There were indeed skilled fighters in the world, but few of them would be willing to serve politicians.

This was evident from the fact that ”that person” only had three individuals, including Li Si, by his side.

After all, once oneʼs martial arts skills reached a certain level, they tended to look down on worldly matters.

No true expert would become a lackey for such things. Hadnʼt Li Si also been forced to serve ”that person” out of a sense of obligation?

While waiting for Liu Junyi earlier, Ye Fei had already prepared some information on Xiao Hai and sent it to Xiao Guang via email.

With that taken care of, he joined the two women, hailed a taxi, and set off towards the famous tourist spots, guided by Wei Qing.
