Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 182 - 125: The Undeadʼs Burial Goods, Struck It Rich!_4

“Looks like this Devouring Demon Box sensed the presence of other demons, and wanted to come out, huh?”

Shaking his head, Cao Xing didn’t think much of it; he resecured the [Devouring Demon Box], and continued into the central passage.

…

The environment inside the central passage was similarly dark, yet fairly spacious.

Cao Xing even noticed a few opened coffins along the sides of the corridor.

Just as he was about to check if there was anything inside the coffins, a sound of something crawling suddenly emerged ahead.

“Rustle… rustle…”

Cao Xing made a gesture, swiftly leading everyone backward a few dozen meters.

Simultaneously, they saw a creature with a long body, standing one and a half meters tall, and about two or three meters in length.

The creature looked very much like a lizard, with its long tail swaying in the air.

Its entire body was covered in dark green skin, adorned with many spots.

Its hind legs were strong, upper limbs slightly bent.

It also moved bipedally, with incredibly swift movements.

It was wandering around, its nose probing the air as if it caught a scent.

Cao Xing glanced at its attributes.

[Soul-Devouring Monster lv26]

[Race: Soul-Devouring Monster]

[Blood Volume: 13370/13370]

[Attack Power: 667~691]

[Skill: Spiritual Pressure (suppresses spiritual bodies, reducing all attributes by 30%, and rendering them immobile for 5 seconds; cooling time 60 seconds)

Soul Scattering Claw (swings sharp claws, dealing 155%*2 tearing damage to enemies; if used on spiritual bodies, it puts them in a soul-tearing state, where they endure extreme pain; cooling time 40 seconds)

Soul-Devouring (directly devours spiritual bodies, dealing 250% damage; if the spiritual body dies, it recovers 50% of its blood volume; cooling time 120 seconds)]

[Talent: Soul-Devouring Body (when attacking a spiritual body, ignores all their defenses, deals an additional 100% damage; reduces damage received by 50% when attacked by a spiritual body)]

…

“Well, this is indeed a Soul-Devouring Monster.”

“This entire set of skills was designed specifically to counter spiritual bodies, right? It’s just too overpowered!”

Cao Xing suddenly nodded in understanding.

No wonder the third-tier boss-level Carlhan Undead said they couldn’t defeat a regular Soul-Devouring Monster.

It was completely suppressed.

Unless it was a leader-level undead, they might be able to handle a regular Soul-Devouring Monster of the same level.

Of course, these Soul-Devouring Monster’s skills had no effect on living beings like them.

Thinking of this, Cao Xing felt a growing sense of assurance.

At this moment, the Soul-Devouring Monster seemed to be searching for something.

Cao Xing and his team were already in combat readiness.

However, it wasn’t searching for Cao Xing and his team.

Instead, it looked towards several opened coffins in the corner.

Among them, one coffin remained unopened, though its stone slab was already loose.

As if catching a scent, the Soul-Devouring Monster moved its powerful hind legs swiftly toward the coffin.

Then, to the astonishment of Cao Xing and his team, the Soul-Devouring Monster extended its hook-claw-like front limb and began frantically attacking the stone slab on the coffin.

Crack! Crack!

The sharp hook claws of the Soul-Devouring Monster scraped across the stone slab, making a series of hair-raising sounds.

Under its attack, a gap seemed to open up in the stone slab on the coffin.

A whisper came from inside the coffin.

“Who dares to disturb my slumber?”

The next moment, a scream echoed.

“Ah! It’s a Soul-Devouring Monster!”

A female Ascalon Undead was directly grabbed by the shoulder and pulled out by the Soul-Devouring Monster.

This undead seemed to resist.

However, the Soul-Devouring Monster directly activated the [Spiritual Pressure] skill.

The Ascalon Undead’s body stiffened, as if frozen, unable to move.

The Soul-Devouring Monster then seemed to have found some delicacy as it opened its large, dark mouth and bit down.

[-3473]

A terrifying damage appeared!

“Ah!!”

The female Ascalon Undead let out a series of wailing screams, but under the [Spiritual Pressure] state, she couldn’t make any moves.

She could only watch as the Soul-Devouring Monster bit by bit shattered and devoured her soul body.

The Soul-Devouring Monster’s suppression of these undead was too intense!

Seeing this, Renice’s eyes showed an expression of compassion.

She looked to Cao Xing pleadingly, “Lord…”

Cao Xing nodded, then directly commanded, “Go, eliminate this Soul-Devouring Monster!”
