Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 177 - 124: Challenge Task, Generous Rewards_2

At this moment, with the arrival of Cao Xing and the others,

a cluster of blue ghost fires emerged from the walls.

Those were all Ascalonian undead.

Cao Xing glanced at the information above their heads and saw Ascalon Undead Warriors, Undead Mages, Undead Monks…

In no time, the undead gathered here had already exceeded two hundred.

The astonishing undead aura kept spreading, and a layer of frost condensed on the walls of the entire hall.

And the temperature here also dropped to an astonishing [-65℃].

The cold spread gradually.

Especially Big Beard Blom, who did not know if he was frozen or scared, was clenching his teeth, his muscles constantly trembling.

Even Liu Muxue and Ji Xinyue looked slightly pale.

It was only natural for girls to feel fear towards these undead.

However, Cao Xing did not feel particularly afraid, but slowly spoke,

“Now, let your person in charge come out and then tell me what you need me to do.”

Hearing these words, there was a commotion among the undead.

Soon, an undead creature, wearing a full set of undead armor and a cow horn helmet on its head, appeared.

From its presence, Cao Xing sensed a powerful undead aura.

…

A third-tier Boss Level monster, with very formidable attributes.

However, in a one-on-one situation, Sarah could steadily suppress him.

The undead also spoke with a hoarse voice, “Ascalon Lieutenant, Carlhan.”

Cao Xing nodded, “Lord Cao Xing, greetings to you.”

After a simple greeting, Cao Xing said, “Then now, Lieutenant Carlhan, tell me about the situation in the underground palace, and what you need me to do.”

The undead named Carlhan nodded, then said, “The general situation, I think this human female should have told you.”

“A Soul-Devouring Demon appeared in our underground palace!”

“I don’t know how this demon appeared, it has devoured many of our companions and is still incubating many soul-devouring monsters.”

“Those soul-devouring monsters are not particularly formidable among their peers, but they are the nemesis of the undead, even I am no match for these guys.”

“They first appeared in the Eternal Hope Hall, where there are over three hundred coffins, each containing a sleeping Ascalonian undead.”

“Including me, I was also asleep in there before.”

Cao Xing was puzzled, “You mean, these coffins in the corner are where you Ascalon undead reside?”

He pointed to the opened stone coffins in the hall and asked.

The undead Carlhan nodded, “That’s right!”

“Although the coffins can protect us from harm, that group of soul-devouring monsters is extremely sensitive to the aura of the undead, they quickly discovered that the coffins in the Eternal Hope Hall contained a large number of Ascalon undead.”

“They began to forcibly destroy the coffins inside!”

“When I woke up, more than half of the coffins in the Eternal Hope Hall had already been opened, and many of our clansmen were ruthlessly devoured.”

Speaking of which, Carlhan’s eyes contained some sadness.

“And at the moment I became conscious, I realized the Eternal Hope Hall had fallen, so I forcibly awakened all the sleeping Ascalon undead inside, then led them out of the hall to this place.”

Cao Xing nodded, “What about that group of soul-devouring monsters? Didn’t they follow you?”

Carlhan replied, “They certainly would have followed, but because we sealed the door of the underground palace, those soul-devouring monsters couldn’t get through.”

“And we can only hide outside the door of the underground palace, not daring to go inside.”

Carlhan hung his head, looking utterly dejected.

And Cao Xing glanced at the door Carlhan mentioned.

Behind them, there was a huge iron door, about a dozen meters high and seven or eight meters wide, tightly closed.

Passing through this iron door, one could reach Ascalon’s underground palace.

Cao Xing nodded and continued to ask, “What do you want us to do? Don’t tell me you want me to deal with that Soul-Devouring Demon?”

“I’m telling you, we are no match for that Soul-Devouring Demon.”

“If you want us to go to our deaths, count me out!”

Cao Xing spoke with resolute determination.

Carlhan shook his head, “I know, I don’t need you to deal with the Soul-Devouring Demon, I just need you to go into the underground palace and rescue the souls of our clansmen.”

Cao Xing questioned, “There are still many Ascalon undead inside?”

“That’s right!”

Carlhan nodded, “Besides this batch of undead in the Eternal Hope Hall, there are still many coffins in the various temples of the underground palace, as well as in the Kasha Cathedral.”

“Inside those coffins, lie the undead of our Ascalonian people.”

“They were in a state of sleep, the stone coffins being opened by those soul-devouring monsters, then mercilessly swallowed.”

“So, I need you to go to the Shield, Holy Sword, Torch, Huge Hammer, and the four great temples to open all the coffins and rescue the undead of our Ascalonian people.”
