Naruto: Orochimaru's Disciple

Chapter 347: Chapter 347: Amamiya Kenichi’s Mangekyo Sharingan!

Chapter 347: Amamiya Kenichi’s Mangekyo Sharingan!

Kenichi looked at the phone in his hand, hesitating for a moment.

He really wanted to ask his teacher where Anko had gone, but when he thought about how Orochimaru was currently researching the seal related to Hikari, he gave up on the idea.

”There shouldn’t be any problem activating the Mangekyo now. I still haven’t found the Six Paths Sage’s genes, and there are no clues at all. In that case, maybe I should just try activating it directly?” Kenichi flipped through the experimental log in his hand.

As the final confrontation drew closer and closer, he urgently needed to raise his strength. Right now, activating the Mangekyo was naturally the simplest, fastest, and most effective option.

Originally, Kenichi had wanted to find relics or blood related to the Six Paths Sage, then program that genetic information into himself before activating the Mangekyo. He believed that might produce a better result.

But the problem was obvious. The Six Paths Sage’s relics were nowhere to be found, let alone his blood.

So his best option now was Indra’s and Asura’s genes. As for where to get them, that was no longer a problem.

”My hypothesis should be correct.” Kenichi drew some of his own blood and began testing it.

He already had some ideas about his own body.

At first, he had indeed considered using Naruto’s and Sasuke’s blood, since they were the reincarnations of the Six Paths Sage’s two sons. But then he realized something important.

His current physique was already the First Hokage’s Sage Body.

In other words, he did not actually need Naruto’s blood at all. The First Hokage himself had also been a reincarnation of the Six Paths Sage’s son, Asura.

That meant the only remaining issue was Indra.

”But whether my genetic information has already been improved is still uncertain. I never thought to test myself before.” Kenichi watched the machine running and fell into thought.

At this point, activating the Mangekyo itself was no longer a problem for him. He had even begun to glimpse the mysteries of the Rinnegan.

Soon, the results came out.

After making the comparison, Kenichi discovered that his genes were indeed similar to some of Naruto’s genetic traits, but there were still one or two differences. More importantly, he did not possess the extra part that Sasuke carried, the portion belonging to Indra.

”Just as I thought.” Kenichi narrowed his eyes. ”But is that difference there to avoid Asura’s influence?”

He could not be sure.

Genes were simply too mysterious. Just deciphering what mountains of code truly represented would take an unimaginably long time.

”If that’s the case, then all I need to do is program Indra’s genes into my body... But will I end up being influenced by Indra?” Kenichi frowned slightly.

Sasuke had been affected by Indra. Madara had as well.

Still, after a moment, Kenichi shook his head.

”No. That shouldn’t happen. No matter how strong a soul is, it should only be able to influence one person at a time. It can’t just reincarnate into me directly.”

That possibility could be ruled out.

It was not a case of having the right genes first and then becoming Indra’s reincarnation. The evidence for that was simple: Naruto did not originally possess the extra Asura component in his genes either. It was more likely that reincarnation came first, and the genetic changes followed afterward.

”In that case, let’s begin. Once the Mangekyo is activated, I should be able to verify my theory.” Kenichi licked his lips, excitement flashing through his eyes.

He entered the laboratory, called Shiori over, and had her retrieve a test tube labeled [Indra] from cold storage. Frost still clung to it when she brought it out.

”With Sasuke’s blood in hand, the next step is extracting Indra’s genetic information.” Kenichi sent Shiori away and began preparing for the experiment.

Although he also had Obito’s genes, Obito was not Indra’s reincarnation. If Kenichi wanted to push the Mangekyo further, toward the Eternal Mangekyo and eventually the Rinnegan, then Indra’s genetic information was essential.

So he did not choose Obito’s genes.

After skillfully extracting the extra Indra component from Sasuke’s blood, Kenichi created a Shadow Clone and began performing genetic programming on himself.

The safety of the process had already been verified countless times. If something went wrong now, Kenichi felt he might as well travel back in time and buy a lottery ticket.

”Main body, good luck,” the Shadow Clone said seriously.

If the main body died, all of them would disappear.

”Let’s begin.” Kenichi calmed himself. There was nothing more to say. Every experiment had to start somewhere.

As the procedure began, Kenichi continuously described his sensations out loud.

Usually, he was the one standing beside the operating table, not lying on it himself. The feeling was undeniably strange.

”I’m feeling some pain now. It started at the injection site, and now there’s a sensation of heat...” Kenichi frowned slightly.

He knew exactly what stage the experiment had reached. Indra’s genes were integrating into his body.

Accompanied by the mother worm’s secretion, the genes began to reorganize themselves. Even Kenichi could feel pain from that process, but it was still within the expected range.

”It went smoothly.” The Shadow Clone removed its gloves.

The programming process was smooth, just as it had been every time before.

”The key part is next.” Kenichi sat up.

Genetic programming itself was not the real problem. The true problem was whether those genes could remain stable afterward. Before the mother worm’s secretion had been introduced, this stage had come with a terrifying mortality rate. It was only because of that secretion that the genes stabilized instead of collapsing on the spot.

Kenichi waited patiently for an hour.

During that time, he carefully recorded his bodily sensations and all the monitoring data.

After the hour had passed, he felt no discomfort at all.

That made him smile.

Just as he had expected, the genetic programming had succeeded.

”Help me run one more test on my current genome.” Kenichi squeezed a drop of blood from his fingertip and handed it over.

He needed confirmation. He had to make sure his genes now truly carried both Asura’s and Indra’s components.

The Shadow Clone hurried off.

Meanwhile, Kenichi twisted his neck, then picked up the experimental log concerning the Mangekyo Sharingan and slowly began flipping through it.

The next step was activating his own Mangekyo.

Now he had to think about something even more important.

What kind of ability did he want to awaken?

The Mangekyo was never easy to control. It required extreme emotional stimulation, and the ability awakened depended on the strongest desire hidden in the user’s heart at that moment.

Its powers varied wildly.

Shiori’s Mangekyo ability was extremely special, something somewhat similar to Kamui, yet not Kamui. Hikari had awakened the bizarre power Yachihoko.

That alone proved how high the upper limit of the Mangekyo was. At the same time, its lower limit was also unusually high. Among all the Mangekyo abilities revealed so far, none of them were useless.

”If my wish is to become the strongest in the world, then what would I get? Amaterasu?” Kenichi frowned.

There were too many variables. Maybe he needed to think more clearly about what he truly wanted.

Just as that thought crossed his mind, he heard a buzzing sound.

Kenichi instinctively licked his lips. He knew what was happening. His skull was being opened.

Fortunately, the anesthetic worked. He felt no physical pain.

The Mangekyo activation experiment required exactly this kind of setup.

Next came the emotional stimulation.

Kenichi was still thinking when the Shadow Clone warned him that the critical phase had begun.

Then it hit him.

A wave of searing pain, followed by a grief so intense it felt as if his heart were being torn apart, and then despair deep enough to drown everything else.

Kenichi gripped the armrest so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

The sensation was absolutely horrible.

The anesthetic only blocked the pain of the skull being opened. What he was suffering now came from deeper than flesh, from the very depths of his body and mind.

Extreme emotions can absolutely trigger physical reactions. People say their hearts break from grief or their lungs burst from rage. Sometimes those are not metaphors at all.

Overwhelming sorrow can make the heart pound painfully. If it becomes too severe, it can even cause someone to faint or damage the heart muscle itself, enough to kill.

Similarly, in cases of extreme fury, something like a pneumothorax could occur.

That was why doctors always told patients and their families to stay calm and accept reality as peacefully as they could. It truly mattered.

There had even been cases in which cancer patients were never told their diagnosis, simply because the doctors hoped a lighter emotional state might produce some kind of miracle.

The human body really was extraordinary, holding too many secrets. One could even say mankind had explored the outside world more thoroughly than it had explored itself.

”What do I want?” Kenichi clenched his teeth, forcing himself to endure while constantly asking that question inside his own mind.

When he had first arrived in the ninja world, his deepest wish had simply been survival.

That had been his very first desire.

Later, under Orochimaru’s wing, what he wanted most was to stay alive and avoid being turned into an experiment himself.

But now?

Now that the most immediate danger of death had faded, what did he crave most?

Kenichi’s thoughts became tangled.

He wanted many things. People always wanted too much.

But in the very end...

”If possible, I want...” Kenichi thought of the deepest wish buried in his heart.

The sorrow, the despair, the violent convulsions throughout his body, and the chaos clouding his mind all reached their peak at once. Then suddenly, his body stiffened.

And then relaxed.

The overwhelming sensation faded.

It still felt uncomfortable, but it was no longer the kind of agony that made him want to collapse on the spot.

Kenichi felt heat rising into his eyes, and a dizzy sensation swelled inside his skull. It was so strong he almost blacked out, but he forced himself to remain conscious.

”The experiment succeeded.” The Shadow Clone quickly replaced Kenichi’s skull and began using the Mystical Palm Technique to heal the wound.

”Yes. I know.” Kenichi slowly opened his eyes.

They were no longer Three Tomoe.

”Huh?” Kenichi stared at his reflection in the mirror and fell into silence.

He truly had not expected this.

His eye pattern looked like an umbrella.

The resemblance to the Umbrella Corporation’s emblem was so strong that he momentarily did not know what to say.

Still, the appearance of the pattern itself was not the important part.

What mattered was the ability of his Mangekyo.

”Straight tomoe... But what exactly is my ability?” Kenichi touched his eyes.

The Mangekyo was an extraordinary power.

The moment he awakened it, he had already gained a rough understanding of its nature. Still, understanding and confirming were two different things. He needed to test it himself.

Kenichi directly dispelled the Shadow Clones. He had no interest in experiencing that soul crushing wave of fatigue again.

”My Mangekyo...” He looked around the laboratory.

The Three Tomoe Sharingan had already greatly enhanced his vision, but the Mangekyo elevated it even further. If he had to compare them, then the Three Tomoe was like 1080p, while the Mangekyo was 4K.

The difference was incredibly obvious.

But what Kenichi truly cared about was the power it had awakened.

He focused his thoughts, and the nature of the ability became clearer and clearer in his mind.

Kenichi casually picked up a glass test tube from the laboratory and looked at it.

”Silicon dioxide... sodium oxide... and diboron trioxide? Plus a certain amount of...” His voice slowed.

He was no longer looking at the test tube itself.

He was looking at what it was made of.

”I understand.”

Kenichi set the test tube down.

Then, with a thought, the untouched test tube vanished from the table.

In its place appeared a pile of powder and separated substances.

Kenichi closed his eyes.

Now he understood.

He finally understood exactly what kind of ability his Mangekyo had awakened.

But could such a thing really exist?

He licked his lips, his eyes shining with excitement as he stared at the materials before him.

Then, as he exerted his ocular power again, the powders and separated substances recombined, reforming into a short, thick glass test tube.

”Analyze, deconstruct, reconstruct...”

His voice turned low with wonder.

”How marvelous.”
