Chapter 304: Can You Imagine How Crazy a World Full of Uchiha Would Be?

The parasite eggs were one of the methods Amamiya Kenichi intended to use to help realize his dream, but they were not the only method. More importantly, whether these parasites could truly be put to use depended on another issue.

Specifically, did the parasites have any resistance to dōjutsu such as the Sharingan?

After all, if the parasites could be controlled by Sharingan genjutsu, that would be nothing short of a joke. At that point, not only would he fail to use the parasites to control others, but the very creatures he painstakingly cultivated would instead become a gift to his enemies.

”Logically speaking, the Mangekyō Sharingan can even control Tailed Beasts, so controlling parasites shouldn’t be impossible,” Amamiya Kenichi muttered, slicing open the experimental subject’s skull while thinking through the problem.

This question absolutely required experimental verification. He did not want all his efforts to go to waste, so tests like this were essential.

Still, as he looked at the subject in front of him, Amamiya Kenichi decided to finish the matter at hand first. He would think about that issue only after the current experiment had been properly verified.

”The process from two tomoe to three tomoe is the same. It requires simultaneous stimulation of the amygdala, the cerebral cortex, and the Sharingan particles.”

Amamiya Kenichi carefully carried out the procedure while multitasking. He needed to trigger the subject’s emotions while at the same time observing the parasite’s condition.

Fortunately, observing the parasite itself was simple. Amamiya Kenichi had already tested it on his own and discovered that he could directly communicate with the parasite, though only in very simple emotional terms.

For example, hunger. Or reverence.

Anything more complex than that was impossible. According to Koyuki, the larvae needed some time to grow and learn before they could truly communicate with him.

Amamiya Kenichi was already very clear on the process from two tomoe to three tomoe, so he quickly completed the necessary steps while diligently monitoring the larva’s physical state.

[During the subject’s advancement from two tomoe to three tomoe, the parasite conveyed feelings of heat and discomfort, but no other abnormalities. The special power secreted during Sharingan evolution did not affect the parasite.]

[After the subject successfully advanced, the parasite’s physical condition remained stable, its emotional feedback showed no abnormalities, and everything remained normal.]

[Three tomoe successfully activated. Next step: test obedience.]

Amamiya Kenichi looked at the awakened ninja and smiled.

He vaguely remembered that this was one of the ninja he had taken from Kurenai earlier, though he could no longer recall the man’s name. To him, the subject was merely an experimental specimen.

The one he remembered more clearly was another ninja named Yayoi Yusuke. That one was the first person to successfully awaken the three tomoe Sharingan, and he also carried a mid level parasite within his body.

”You’re awake?” Amamiya Kenichi asked.

The experimental subject had clearly realized what had happened to him and was glaring at Amamiya Kenichi with naked hatred. But Amamiya Kenichi also noticed that his emotions were fluctuating violently.

One moment, hatred.

The next, confusion.

Then reverence.

Then terror and rage.

It seemed even low level larvae could influence part of the host’s thoughts, whereas the parasite queen could directly overwrite the host’s body and mind with her own will, without any delay at all.

Low level parasite probably needed time to fully mature.

”Kill yourself,” Amamiya Kenichi ordered directly.

To test the parasite’s stability, death was undoubtedly the best method. Nothing else would be more convincing. Choices that violated human instinct were the most reliable proof.

Humans were strange creatures.

When afraid, they feared death more than anything. But when truly cornered by mortal danger, they would do anything to survive. At such moments, even losing a limb or eating filth became acceptable.

Only death itself remained the ultimate terror.

”You...” the subject roared, his face twisting with fury.

He was clearly in an awful state of mind, but it was useless. Amamiya Kenichi calmly watched as the man picked up a surgical knife and plunged it into his own throat.

Then, wearing an expression of absolute terror, the experimental subject decapitated himself in front of Amamiya Kenichi.

[Experimental Subject No. 1 has died. Verification complete: low level parasites can exert decisive control over three tomoe ninja, and can also be recovered.]

Amamiya Kenichi watched the wriggling parasite crawl out and smiled as he scooped it into his palm.

The little parasite twisted gently in his hand, sending back a clear feeling of reverence.

”This little thing is really absurdly powerful,” Amamiya Kenichi said as he licked his lips.

Now he finally understood why the Sage of Six Paths had chosen to eliminate these parasites. They really were terrifying.

But were they invincible?

Naturally not.

Before entering a human body, parasites were extremely fragile. Forget Amamiya Kenichi. Even an ordinary person could probably crush this parasite underfoot. The eggs also had special preservation requirements, which made them far less convenient than they appeared.

”What a pity. Otherwise, if I just dumped these eggs into wells and water supplies, wouldn’t I be able to parasitize people on a massive scale?” Amamiya Kenichi muttered.

Then he gathered some chakra and fed the little parasite.

It was still very young, and its host had just been killed by his own hand. If he neglected it now, it really might die.

”Shiori, bring in a genin,” Amamiya Kenichi said without looking up.

Uchiha Shiori, who had watched the entire process in silence, gave a calm nod and turned to leave.

Amamiya Kenichi temporarily placed the fully fed parasite into a tray, then added another note to his logbook.

[Current experimental results show that advancement from two tomoe to three tomoe does not affect parasite survival.]

He glanced at the still unconscious Yayoi Yusuke.

The parasite inside him remained stable, but Amamiya Kenichi was not in a hurry to begin the next test. He planned to wait and see whether the parasite would still remain unaffected after living inside its host for a longer period of time.

That way, he could test the parasite’s long term stability as well.

Although Uchiha Shiori also had a parasite inside her, the one within her was a high level parasite, so categorized testing was still necessary. Even low level parasites needed their own independent trials.

”This kid really is lucky,” Amamiya Kenichi said as he looked at Yayoi Yusuke.

His luck really was decent. Amamiya Kenichi had remembered his name, and that alone was the reason he was still alive. Otherwise, he would have died in the laboratory long ago.

”Lord Amamiya, here is the genin you requested.”

At that moment, Uchiha Shiori returned, bringing a trembling female ninja with her.

Amamiya Kenichi merely glanced at her, then shoved the low level parasite directly into her mouth.

However, to avoid a repeat of the earlier scene and to keep his hard earned temporary laboratory from being fouled again, Amamiya Kenichi used genjutsu first to control the female ninja.

Even so, she still displayed severe pain and convulsed repeatedly as the parasite burrowed into her body. Amamiya Kenichi carefully recorded all of it.

Uchiha Shiori watched silently, neither speaking nor moving, simply waiting for his next command.

From the moment she had left Konoha, she had already understood something very clearly. The best possible outcome for her life was to continue following Amamiya Kenichi. Only then might she someday receive a dignified ending.

”How did you find this genin?” Amamiya Kenichi asked casually.

The parasitic process was dull and tedious, so out of boredom he started chatting with Uchiha Shiori.

Koyuki could not be brought in for something like this. That woman, under the influence of the parasite queen, was perfectly normal in all other respects, except for the fact that she seemed to want to pounce on him and swallow him whole.

Amamiya Kenichi wisely chose not to call her in. Otherwise, the floor would probably need mopping again, and that was too much trouble.

”I went out and spoke with Lady Koyuki, and she brought her over,” Uchiha Shiori replied almost immediately.

”You never considered finding them yourself? You might have been able to save one or two people that way,” Amamiya Kenichi asked with a faint chuckle.

Even after spending quite some time with Uchiha Shiori, he still enjoyed testing other people’s minds.

That sort of observation and probing was interesting. It helped him understand human complexity a little better.

”Meaningless.”

Uchiha Shiori maintained her usual expression and shook her head.

What was the point of saving one person? At best, it just meant someone else would be dragged in instead. If she listened to everyone cry about how miserable they were, she would accomplish nothing all day. She might as well just climb onto the operating table herself.

”How did your family in Konoha describe you before?” Amamiya Kenichi asked, genuinely curious.

He really wanted to know how someone with her personality had survived up to now.

The social environment of the Ninja World was relatively simple, but not truly simple. In many ways, it resembled anime society more than anything else, not a world ruled by passion, but one where people were expected to ”read the room.”

And in a society like that, loners rarely had easy lives. Unless they chose to live completely on their own, they usually did not fit in well.

That was why he found Uchiha Shiori so interesting.

”Gloomy girl. Poker face. Idiot.”

A faint smile appeared on Uchiha Shiori’s face, though the meaning of it was impossible to read.

Amamiya Kenichi scratched his head.

Uchiha Shiori really was a bit of a poker face. That much was true. Her personality had always been like this, with barely any expression on her face, so the nickname made sense.

”Doesn’t sound like you were very popular,” Amamiya Kenichi sighed.

He himself was not exactly popular either. In his previous life, if he had ever gotten married, he would probably have invited only three or four close friends at most. And in this world, he had no friends at all.

After all, orphanages, especially those that housed war orphans, were cruel places.

He had never met someone like Yakushi Nonō. Back when he was living in the orphanage, he had to work hard every day just to fill his stomach. Even with a cheat, children were not allowed to leave the orphanage freely, and it was difficult to come into contact with actual ninja.

Everything only changed when Orochimaru appeared.

Uchiha Shiori did not respond.

She knew perfectly well that she had never been popular. Otherwise, when she was captured, she would not have been the first person everyone was ready to sacrifice. Her former companions had even discussed pushing her out first if things got worse.

That was why she had volunteered when Amamiya Kenichi asked for experimental subjects. She knew that if she did not step forward, others would simply push her out anyway. There was no real difference.

By then, the female ninja on the table had also calmed down.

Amamiya Kenichi checked her and found the parasite obediently settled in its preferred position. Satisfied, he instructed Uchiha Shiori to take the genin away.

”So the next step is to wait,” Amamiya Kenichi muttered as he sat in his chair. ”But waiting is too boring. Maybe I can use this time to...”

He sank into thought.

When was scientific experimentation at its most tedious?

Naturally, when one was waiting for results, especially in long term experiments, such as agricultural trials or metal fatigue tests.

And now, if he wanted to verify whether parasites would be affected over time by the Sharingan, then he needed to wait patiently.

”But looking at it this way, if I really implanted the Uchiha bloodline into everyone in the Ninja World, wouldn’t I just be creating a world full of lunatics?” Amamiya Kenichi muttered as he considered the question.

Question: how should one evaluate the Second Hokage, Tobirama?

Answer: full of love.

Even though Tobirama had many opinions about the Uchiha Clan, Amamiya Kenichi actually agreed with most of his assessment. The existence of Sharingan particles did affect Uchiha emotionally to some extent, making them far more emotionally volatile than ordinary people.

To put it simply, they were overly emotional.

And emotional people were indeed troublesome, especially those who could not restrain themselves once their emotions surged. Such people were very dangerous and extremely prone to impulsive crimes.

There had been a female colleague in Amamiya Kenichi’s old company who was exactly like that. Whenever she got emotional, she would scream and shriek endlessly, incapable of reason, unwilling to listen to anyone, just howling until everyone around her suffocated.

And the Uchiha Clan just happened to be a group famous for their excessive emotional intensity.

The idea of implanting Uchiha genes into everyone in the Ninja World and filling the entire world with people like that, perhaps even some even more extreme than the Uchiha themselves, made Amamiya Kenichi feel uncomfortable all over.

”No, the crime rate in a world like that would probably be absurdly high...” Amamiya Kenichi muttered.

Then he suddenly thought of one person.

”What about Naruto?”
