Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 343. You Die if You Can’t Do It (2)

Patrick said with a solemn expression.

“Someone once said, if you want war, prepare for peace.”

Something seems to have been switched around, doesn’t it?

But Patrick paid no heed and continued.

“What this means is that to win a war, you must push yourself to the extreme during times of peace. It’s a saying with a deep meaning.”

The fact that the interpretation is plausible is even more of a problem.

No one answered, but Patrick didn’t care and continued.

“A great war that will determine the fate of the entire continent is before us. So naturally, shouldn’t we train and train diligently?”

“……”

“But what is this? You’re too weak, aren’t you?”

Grind.

Creak.

The sound of teeth grinding could be heard.

Those with strong pride, at the sound of being called weak, clenched their teeth and tried to raise their bodies….

“Grk….”

“Damn it….”

But they failed.

Their bodies, with not a single bone intact, did not follow their will.

To them, Patrick spoke as if driving a nail into a coffin.

“This instructor is very disappointed in the trainees. How will you survive on the battlefield like this? Huh?”

The nagging Patrick.

The knights lying in front of him as if dead.

Actually, this scene was quite familiar.

But….

“Damn it, you monster… like fellow.”

“Ugh…. Kugh…..”

“Damn it all….”

What was a little different was that the faces of those who had fallen were quite impressive.

Starting with Queen Katherina bin Yusef….

Black Knight Matias Karvan, Giant Killer Marius Shuraiman, Sword Queen Leona Maybus.

In addition, Clabin Taerion, Vector Bridges, Adolph Raines, Dustin Robski, and so on….

All the 7-star knights who were in the former Yusef Kingdom were stretched out in front of Patrick, groaning in pain.

Patrick looked at them, smiled, and said.

“So, this instructor, with a very gentle and benevolent heart, will train the trainees one by one from the beginning. So….”

So what?

They don’t even have the strength to move a finger, is he really going to do more here?

Is he even human?

“Now, come at me again.”

A human can’t, but a devil can.

To explain why this hell was unfolding, let’s turn back time a little.

***

“Phew….”

“What will happen now?”

“I wonder.”

“Hahaha…. How did things end up like this.”

The special restraints owned by the Tower of Truth.

People wearing restraints that froze the aura in their bodies, making it difficult for even 7-star knights to break free, were gathered in one place.

They were all the strong figures of the former Yusef Kingdom who had been subjugated by the Hegemon King.

As Patrick swallowed the Yusef Kingdom whole, he also took custody of them.

And now they were in the state of prisoners awaiting their treatment.

What would happen from now on?

They had no idea.

In a way, they were also victims who had been used as Red Knights after being affected by the black mages.

But on the other hand, before that, they had also invaded the Magellan Kingdom under the Hegemon King’s command.

It was up to the victor to assign blame or grant clemency.

All they could do was wait for that verdict.

The one who appeared before them was….

“Double Dragon?”

“Oh, it’s been a while. Have you been well?”

It was Patrick Schneider.

Patrick, who appeared with Queen Katherina and the Black Knight Matias Karvan by his side, conversed with Adolph Raines, whom he knew.

Although they were meeting like this now, the two had formed a decent bond during Patrick’s knight’s training journey.

‘I got a lot of free drinks.’

Patrick looked at Adolph Raines and then….

“Huh? This one was alive too.”

“Hahaha…. It is an honor to meet you like this, Grand Young Master Schneider.”

“Your attitude has become very polite, you know. We’re not on terms to be smiling at each other like this, are we?”

“Hahaha. Of course not. I am simply honored to meet you like this, Grand Young Master.”

The name of this man desperately flattering Patrick was Dustin Robski.

He was also an acquaintance of Patrick’s.

Well, unlike Adolph Raines, it wasn’t such a good acquaintance.

‘Come to think of it, I heard he was captured by April, right?’

Most of the people here were those who had been converted into Red Knights in the Yusef Kingdom, and then naturally surrendered after their brainwashing was lifted.

But Dustin Robski was different.

He had already been defeated and captured by April before that, so he hadn’t suffered the hardship of being brainwashed as a Red Knight.

After that, he had been living comfortably as a hostage, and now he was meeting Patrick like this.

And….

Thud!

“I, Dustin Robski, am ready to devote my loyalty as the right arm of the great hero, the Double Dragon. Please accept my loyalty.”

“……”

He’s doing this.

He’s doing this.

“Tsk tsk tsk, look at how shameless he is.”

“Hahaha. What do you mean?”

“Well, kids like you do survive for a long time no matter where you put them.”

His survival skills were truly good.

And on top of that, his skills, well, they weren’t too bad either.

Patrick glanced at him, then looked at the others and said.

“Well, I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but Queen Katherina bin Yusef here has surrendered to our country on behalf of the Yusef Kingdom’s royal family.”

At Patrick’s words, they looked quite surprised.

It seemed they had heard it for the first time.

To them, Patrick said.

“Therefore, the custody of all of you has also been transferred to our Schneider Duchy. So, we have to decide on your treatment from now on….”

“Grand Young Master, my loyalty… Aack!”

Smack!

A shoe thrown by Patrick hit the forehead of Dustin Robski, who was about to rush forward.

“You just shut up, you cunning bastard.”

And Patrick, after retrieving the shoe with psychokinesis and putting it back on, said.

“First, let me ask. Anyone who wants to join me. Hands up?”

Then, everyone in the prison looked at each other.

And Adolph Raines, who knew Patrick the best, spoke.

“You, ahem… if we go under the Grand Young Master, what will happen to us?”

“What else is there? You all learned to wield a sword, so you’ll just have to live by wielding a sword, right?”

“You mean we’ll become knights of the Schneider Duchy?”

“Kniiiiiiiiights?”

A twisted voice rose from the depths of Patrick’s gut.

“Wow, look at how shameless they are. What have you done to deserve being a knight? Do you even know how much our kids have suffered to get a knighthood? It’s the law of our Schneider Duchy that you have to roll around like a dog for at least three, no, five years to receive a knighthood. But what? A knight as soon as you arrive? Wow…. I’ve never seen people more shameless than Knight A.”

But Adolph Raines hastily said.

“No, aren’t we individuals whose skills and experience have already been proven? Surely you don’t mean for us to start as squires?”

“What do you mean, squires? You’ll just be soldiers.”

“Soldiers?”

“Haha, how absurd.”

“You’re crazy! Double Dragon.”

Those trapped in the prison expressed their bewilderment and anger.

Although they were now prisoners of war, all of them were valiant 7-star knights who had made their names famous throughout the continent.

But he would accept their surrender and then work them as soldiers in return?

“Do you think we will accept such ridiculous terms?”

The one who glared at Patrick and spoke was Marius Shuraiman.

He was the strongest knight of the former Flame Kingdom, a man called the Giant Killer.

“Sir Shuraiman, please calm down for a moment….”

“Ah, it’s fine. Let’s hear him out.”

Katherina tried to say something to Marius, but Patrick stopped her by raising his hand.

And he spoke to Marius.

“You seem to be dissatisfied?”

“Of course I’m dissatisfied. If you’re going to give me such a disgrace, then just kill me!”

“I see. Yes. I understand.”

And Patrick actually drew his sword.

As Patrick’s White Dragon was drawn with a shing, Marius was rather flustered.

‘Huh, what? Is this the usual flow?’

The flow he had imagined was….

[Then what kind of treatment do you expect?]

[A demotion in rank is unavoidable. But at the very least, we need the status of a knight, the status of a noble to regather our vassals, and a fief.]

[Hmm, those are difficult conditions to accept. But for now….]

It was roughly this kind of flow.

Doesn’t a conversation usually involve persuasion and back-and-forth between each other?

But….

“Come here. Present your neck.”

What is this?

This creature with no reverse gear?

“Hey, Double Dragon.”

“What now? Just hurry up and present your neck.”

“Wouldn’t you like to have a little more of a conversation?”

“Why bother?”

“……”

“You just told me to kill you cleanly, right? I’m doing as you asked, so why are you suddenly backing down?”

“……”

And Marius Shuraiman had the thought that anyone who dealt with Patrick Schneider would have.

‘What kind of bastard is this?’

It was a very normal reaction.

The one who saved him from his predicament was his fellow comrade, Clabin Taerion.

“I would like to ask one thing.”

“What is it?”

“The words that the Queen… Her Highness the Princess has surrendered to you, does that mean she will also be with you?”

“Why don’t you ask her directly?”

Patrick took a step to the side, making it easier for Katherina to speak.

And Katherina stepped forward and said.

“Master. Please help me.”

Clabin Taerion.

He was also Katherina’s master during the Flame Kingdom era.

He was even her most cherished disciple.

In the first place, he had surrendered to the Yusef Kingdom for her sake.

And now, his disciple was once again pleading with him.

“I need your strength, Master. To continue the bloodline of the Spirit Royal Family, and to save the entire continent from crisis, please lend me your strength.”

“The justification is too grand.”

“It is not a lie, Master. I can explain….”

Katherina, who was speaking, closed her mouth.

Because her master, Clabin Taerion, had quietly knelt down and bowed his head.

And….

“I, Clabin Taerion, will surrender to the Schneider Duchy in accordance with the command of Princess Katherina, the only bloodline of the Spirit Royal Family.”

“Master….”

Katherina’s eyes welled up with tears.

This was the master who had surrendered to the Yusef Kingdom for her sake and suffered all sorts of hardships, even being converted into a Red Knight.

She felt guilty for coming to ask a favor in a situation where she didn’t even have the courage to lift her head.

But her master still believed in her.

And….

“Vector Bridges, I will follow my friend Clabin Taerion and devote my loyalty to the Princess.”

“Sir Bridges.”

Vector Bridges, who was also a 7-star knight from the Flame Kingdom, also knelt down.

And….

“Ahem, if these friends are doing so, I cannot be the only one left out. Well, we’ll have to discuss the treatment separately later, but….”

Marius Shuraiman also knelt down.

He subtly went along with the knights from the same Flame Kingdom.

Patrick looked displeased, but he let it pass for now.

‘That’s three for now….’

And he spoke to the others.

“What will the rest of you do? Decide quickly.”

Then Adolph Raines’ mouth twitched a few times.

It seemed his heart was moved, but he was suppressing it with reason.

At that moment, a young woman with white hair spoke.

“May I ask just one thing? Double Dragon.”

“Speak. But…. who are you?”

“My apologies for the late introduction. I am Leona Maybus.”

“…Huh? Who did you say you were?”

“Leona Maybus, once known as the Sword Queen in the Decator Kingdom.”

“Ah…. you’re that person? Come to think of it, I was going to see you then but couldn’t, right?”

He had intended to visit her after defeating Adolph Raines and Dustin Robski in the Decator Kingdom, but he couldn’t because the royal family directly put a stop to it.

But after all this time, they finally met.

‘In the world of Murim, this lady would be something like the Sword Empress, right? Hmm, her skills are quite lacking.’

In the world of Murim, the title of Sword Empress carried a certain weight.

Usually, the Emei Sect took it most often, but sometimes other places took turns holding it.

It was a title that only the most outstanding female swordswoman in the current Murim could have.

He had probably accepted the title of Sword Queen with a similar weight, but….

‘Well, it’s been a long time since this lady was considered the best, right?’

She had already been pushed aside by April.

Anyway, if she was the Sword Queen, she was an elder who was quite a bit older than she looked.

“So, what were you trying to say?”

“I understand why Queen Katherina is by your side.”

“And?”

“What on earth is that Black Knight next to you?”

“Ah, this uncle here?”

“Yes. He is the man who fought alongside the Hegemon King on the battlefield as his right arm.”

“That’s right.”

“Are you planning to take him in even knowing that? And you’re telling us to stand side by side with him on the battlefield and wield our swords?”

A subtle anger was laced in Leona Maybus’ voice.

It was natural for her to hold a grudge against the Hegemon King and those related to him.

In fact, her gaze towards Katherina was not very favorable either.

Patrick said to Leona.

“Matias is no longer a knight. And he will never become a knight.”

“What do you mean?”

“He has promised to dedicate the rest of his life to atoning for his sins. Thanks to that, I get to use a free laborer.”

“Even so, to take in such a great villain….”

“Hey. Sword Empress, no, Sword Queen lady.”

“La… lady?”

It was the first time in Leona Maybus’ life she had heard such a word.

To the bewildered her, Patrick said.

“When a person dies, that’s the end of it.”

“……”

“If I could turn back even a tenth, no, a hundredth of the sins he committed by killing Matias, I would have taken his head myself.”

“Hmm….”

“But that’s not the case. In the end, for this man to alleviate even a little of his sins, he has to live and repay them for the rest of his life.”

“That may be true, but…. isn’t that too idealistic? What guarantee is there that he won’t betray you?”

“Ah, a guarantee?”

Patrick gestured to Matias with his eyes.

But Matias, who came forward, took off his own shirt and bared his chest.

Then….

“Gasp?”

“What is that?”

All the 7-star knights in the prison were startled.

They saw.

On Matias Karvan’s chest was a distinct slave seal.

A slave seal, engraved only on criminals who have committed heinous crimes, was engraved on the body of the strong man who had made his name famous throughout the continent as the Hegemon King’s right arm.

And Patrick said.

“It’s a seal personally engraved by the 5th Sage. He can’t escape this even in death.”
