Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 307. Let’s Move Somewhere Else (2)

“Huuuu…”

Taking his place in the training ground, Patrick took a light, steadying breath.

First up were the white swords.

Calming his pounding heart, he gently began to execute a sword form.

Swoooosh.

The swords moved, slicing through the air.

Slowly at first, but then faster and faster…

The white swords, glowing faintly in Patrick’s hands, began to draw lines in the air. And eventually…

“Hmm…”

“Ooh…”

The swords became invisible.

The sound of them cutting through the air could no longer be heard.

All that could be seen was the trajectory drawn by a dazzling white light.

Even that was just the lingering trace left in the air after the swords had already passed.

‘Magnificent. It’s breathtaking.’

As he executed the sword form, Patrick couldn’t contain his excitement at the sword speed, which had become twice as fast as usual.

What would happen if he executed a quick sword form with all his might in this state?

Unable to contain his curiosity, Patrick immediately put it into action.

Kicking off the ground and leaping into the air, Patrick immediately deployed his sword form.

[ Twin Dragons Eight Sword Forms: Fourth Form: Twin Dragons Wild Dance ]

Among the Twin Dragons Eight Sword Forms, it was the ultra-high-speed continuous attack with the fastest attack speed.

Normally, it was a technique that unleashed a dizzying number of slashes, but now…

Whoooooosh!

It was invisible.

Nothing could be seen.

Only light scattered in all directions with Patrick at the center.

It was as if the sky was filled with countless particles of light, like a constellation of stars.

“Oh… ooh…”

“Hoho…”

The dwarves watching the scene from the ground couldn’t close their mouths.

And when Patrick landed on the ground, Klaus said excitedly.

“How is it? Do you like it?”

“What is there to say?”

This was the best. A galaxy of light created by Patrick’s sword form was still spread across the sky.

It was a beautiful and majestic sight. But…

Patrick picked up the other swords.

The black swords of hefty weight.

Patrick, holding the two blades, swung them lightly.

Whoooooosh!

With a powerful sonic boom, the beards of the dwarves standing far from Patrick swayed in the wind.

It was a terrifying destructive power, enough to unleash a sword wind without any particular intention.

In that case, the form that suited this was…

“Shall we give it a try?”

Patrick held the black swords crossed behind his back.

And he deployed a sword form towards the cluster of stars he had created in the sky.

[ Twin Dragons Eight Sword Forms: Second Form: Great Dragon Cross Sword ]

The form most focused on strength among the Twin Dragons Eight Sword Forms.

The moment he unleashed the cross-shaped sword qi with all his might…

‘Hmm?’

Patrick was surprised.

Because the moment he swung, it felt as if the weight of the swords had vanished.

Though they were the size of a longsword, the black swords had been much heavier than any ordinary two-handed sword, but the moment he executed the sword form, all their weight disappeared.

It meant that the swords were perfectly balanced.

If a swordsman of Patrick’s caliber used such a famed sword…

Whoooooooosh!

A massive cross-shaped slash pierced through the cluster of stars in the galaxy and split the clouds in the sky beyond.

“Uh oh…?”

“What is that?”

“Hiiik… O, Yupinel.”

The citizens of the duchy, who were watching the scene from afar, mistook it for a natural disaster that had split the sky and prostrated themselves in prayer.

No one could have imagined that this was created by a single swordsman.

Well, what could you say, when even Patrick himself had a bewildered expression?

“This power with only 5-star level of ki…”

This was a level of power no different from when Patrick used his full strength.

He couldn’t even imagine what the result would have been if he had unleashed it head-on.

“Hahaha. How is it? Isn’t it magnificent?”

“It’s thrilling.”

To Grot’s question, Patrick answered without hiding his ecstatic emotions.

This feeling of wielding immense power in his hands at will.

He felt a pleasure and a thrill that seemed addictive.

“I’m glad you’re satisfied.”

Grot said so and then spoke to Patrick.

“Alright then, now tell us. Obviously, the sword I made is far superior.”

Grot’s words were filled with pride and conviction.

But there was someone who couldn’t agree with this.

“Has this rolling barrel of an old geezer finally gone senile, the first in the history of the dwarf clan?”

“What?”

“Of course, the one I made is the best. Who would use such an ignorantly heavy sword?”

“What did you just say? You want to die… Keok!”

“The first punch is the key to victory!”

“Dieee!”

Dwarves do not fight with words.

The two master craftsmen immediately started grabbing each other by the collar and scuffling.

Watching the two men, who were at the highest ranks of the dwarf clan, entangled in a brawl, Hadi shook his head from side to side.

“When will they ever grow up.”

And he said to Patrick.

“You decide cleanly. Otherwise, those old geezers will be at it all day.”

“I guess they’ve been like this all along?”

“Ever since they started making the swords.”

“Hmm… I see.”

Patrick pondered.

Both pairs of swords were excellent.

They were so different in nature that it was difficult to compare them to determine which was superior.

In that case, wasn’t there only one answer to resolve this problem peacefully?

“I will decide.”

As Patrick spoke, the two men, who had been entangled and pulling each other’s beards, stopped for a moment.

And Patrick said solemnly.

“These four swords are all the best. I simply cannot determine their superiority. Therefore…”

Patrick grinned and said.

“I’ll just use them all.”

Just when you thought he was acting a bit nice.

“……”

“……”

“……”

The three dwarves’ jaws dropped simultaneously.

Patrick was smiling brightly as he slyly pulled both the white and black swords behind his back, saying that. He was a thief like no other.

“No, look here, Double Dragon.”

“What is it?”

“Of course, those swords were made to be given to you.”

“I’ll use them well.”

“But still. You can’t just take both sets, can you? The cost of the materials that went into making those swords is equivalent to a nation’s budget. No, even if you paid that much, you couldn’t get them again.”

Orichalcum, Adamantium.

These two metals were treasures beyond treasures to the dwarves.

Other metals were difficult to find, but they could be mined if one somehow located a vein.

But these two metals were specially given to the world by the gods and were not something that could be mined in the first place.

Only a very small amount had been passed down secretly over time.

When he had first decided to give Patrick a sword made of this metal as a gift, Hadi had faced the most vehement opposition since becoming the head of the clan.

That was how groundbreaking the condition of making a weapon using this metal was. But…

[The Double Dragon is a benefactor of our clan. If we cannot give him the best reward, it is nothing short of a disgrace to the dwarf clan!]

He had pushed through with such a strong stance and barely got it approved.

In fact, even after that, he had a hard time because these two senile old geezers next to him fought with each other and took different directions with their creations.

In the end, they had completed both sets and decided to show them to Patrick and let him choose one.

And they had intended to carefully store the other one away again. Wasn’t that obvious?

That was a treasure of the clan.

The materials themselves were of immense value, and the final product was even more magnificent.

Wasn’t it natural that it should be designated as a clan treasure and passed down through the generations?

The problem was…

“Look here, Double Drag…”

“Don’t. Tell. Me.”

“……”

“You’re not thinking of taking back something you gave me, are you?”

“……”

“You shouldn’t be. For your information, taking back something you’ve already given me is the tenth thing I hate.”

“Why do you hate so many things?”

“That’s how delicate I am… Ack! Hands off!”

Patrick unleashed a genuine killing intent at Klaus, who was slyly reaching for the white sword.

“Uh… ububuh…”

Klaus hastily retreated, and Patrick said.

“Where do you think you’re putting your hands on someone else’s property? Huh?”

It was already his, apparently.

Even Hadi flinched at such a Patrick, but as the head of the clan, he had to say what needed to be said.

“Choose only one.”

“Where is such a thing written? You didn’t say that at first, did you?”

“No, common sense dictates…”

“Ah, I don’t know. I’m not giving them back. Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey. End of story!”

“……”

This was the strongest on the continent who had defeated the Imperial Sword Saint?

“Ah, just take one! Just one!”

In the end, even Hadi got pissed and shouted.

The dwarf clan was also a race with a temper, so they were unlikely to meekly agree. But…

“Hoo, you want to go at it, is that it?”

“Why? What are you going to do?”

“You will regret it.”

The opponent was Patrick Schneider.

A moment later.

“Surrendeeeeeeeeeeer!”

A faint cry echoing from somewhere resounded throughout the grand ducal castle.

At that, a servant working in the grand ducal castle’s stable said in surprise.

“What was that? What’s going on?”

Then another servant next to him said…

“Don’t mind it, newbie.”

“Yes? No, what do you mean…”

“That voice is one that often echoes when the Grand Young Master is extorting some poor soul.”

“……”

What did I just hear?

The servant, who had only recently started working at the grand ducal castle, had a bewildered expression.

But the seniors said nonchalantly.

“Don’t worry. I don’t know who he’s extorting, but in the end, it’s beneficial for our country.”

“Right?”

“It’s never a loss.”

“He’s so reliable.”

“Hahaha. That’s what I’m saying.”

As the saying goes, if the water upstream is clear, the water downstream will also be clear. In that sense, the future of the Schneider Duchy was truly dark.

***

“Vicious bastard.”

Hadi and the other two dwarves looked as if their souls had been thoroughly drained.

[I went through all that trouble to save the dwarf clan. I saved the clan, and you’re telling me that one measly sword, no two, no, strictly speaking, four swords are too much to ask for?!]

[Surrendeeeeeeeeeeer! My elven brother-in-law wasn’t like this, my orc brother Tanta wasn’t like this either!]

[People came before swords, not swords before people! Oh my goooood! People of the town, over here are the stingiest dwarf old men in the world… Mmmph! Mmmph!]

There was simply no way.

Dwarves were also a race that wouldn’t lose to anyone when it came to stubbornness, but Patrick Schneider’s tantrums were on a completely different level.

He threw away all his dignity and rolled on the floor throwing a tantrum, and every word he said ruthlessly dug into their conscience.

On top of that, if they didn’t give in, he threatened to complain to the entire neighborhood about how unfair it was (what was?), so…

“…Vicious bastard.”

Hadi’s teeth ground together just thinking about it again.

He had somehow managed to negotiate and get a promise that if a mineral vein was discovered while developing the Great Forest in the future, the dwarf clan would be given priority development rights.

“That should be enough for the clan’s kids to understand, right? It will, right?”

“You think so?”

“Go die, you blockhead bastard!”

His two aides were of no help.

Hadi banged his head again in despair.

***

In a remote area of the Schneider fiefdom.

Patrick had come to a place far from the Red Rock Tribe’s garrison with a purpose.

“Hmm… This might work.”

Before Patrick were two pairs of swords.

Two black swords.

Two white swords.

The white swords, which increased the speed of speed-focused quick swordsmanship.

The black swords, which increased the destructive power of attacks.

To obtain these four swords, he had to roll on the floor and throw a tantrum in front of the dwarves.

Why? Why did he have to do such a thing?

[Because it’s you.]

“Ahem, Master, if you don’t know, please stay out of it. I’m doing this because I have my reasons.”

[Because you’re full of greed.]

“Tsk, you’re being particularly harsh today.”

[A grand disciple of the Twin Dragon Sect, of all people, throwing away all dignity and rolling on the floor, insisting on his way? And you call yourself a Great Master?]

“I can’t hear you. I can’t hear you. I can’t hear a thing.”

Patrick covered his ears and tried hard to ignore the nagging of his Master echoing from within him.

In truth, it was true that he was greedy, and he knew that he had been somewhat unreasonably insistent. But still.

“I need this.”

More than just coveting them, he needed both pairs of swords.

“Theoretically, it should be possible. It’s definitely possible.”

Patrick muttered as he looked at the two pairs of swords. Then he reached out and grabbed them.

“Twin Dragons Eight Sword Forms…”

And then Patrick deployed a sword form.

***

Rumble, rumble, rumble…

“Huh? What’s that?”

“It’s an earthquake!”

“Woah! Get down!”

The residents of the Schneider Duchy were greatly flustered as the ground suddenly shook violently.

Their vision blurred, and water cups placed on tables rattled and moved.

At this natural disaster, people were all startled and huddled in safe places, shielding their families.

And a moment later.

“Is it over?”

“Thankfully, it ended quickly.”

“You’re right.”

People were relieved that the earthquake ended quickly.

“What a strange thing. An earthquake in our fief.”

“It’s the first time in my 30 years of life.”

The Schneider fiefdom, though troubled by monsters, was not an area where earthquakes occurred.

The residents thought it was strange, but they were glad that the earthquake ended without any damage and soon forgot about it. And…

“Woooah…”

At the epicenter of the vibration that people had felt as an earthquake, Patrick Schneider let out a sigh of relief.

“It’s a good thing I did it outside. If I had done it in the training ground, I would have destroyed the entire castle.”

There, everything within a 200-meter radius around Patrick was destroyed without a trace.

A new realm.

And new swords.

On top of that, the result of adding one hypothesis Patrick had been thinking of in his head was…

“That striped cat bastard is really dead now.”

It was enough to make Patrick clench his fist.
