Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Chapter 316. Seeeaaasssoned (2)

“He betrayed you?”

-We are… ashamed.

Receiving the Azure Dragon’s apology, Patrick wore a look of disbelief.

‘What is this?’

No matter what, when you talk about the Four Gods, aren’t they supposed to be portrayed as sacred divine beasts?

He couldn’t have imagined it.

Such a blatant backstabbing.

‘Let’s be calm. First, let’s be calm and think about what needs to be done first.’

Patrick Schneider, who had been backstabbed quite a few times in his past life, knew that he had to be calm in times like these.

The first thing to do was….

“Where is the Black Tortoise?”

He had to stop the Black Tortoise.

Right now, the Black Tortoise had stolen seven constellations and was on its way to the Outer God.

If that fiend joined forces with the Heavenly Demon, it would become much more difficult to deal with.

So he had to take care of it before then.

-Patrick, if you kill the Black Tortoise now, all seven constellations will disappear.

“Isn’t that better than giving them to the Outer God?”

-That is….

“We have to put out the most urgent fire first. Is this the time to hesitate?”

-…….

The Azure Dragon fell silent.

Patrick was right.

It was a shame, but the constellations stolen by the Black Tortoise here could not be recovered anyway.

In that case….

-Patrick Schneider. First, take this at least.

“What… hmm?”

Patrick’s eyes widened for a moment.

He felt some unfamiliar energy, no, an existence, being transferred to him.

It was different from internal energy.

A heavy presence that seemed to dwell in the soul rather than the body. This was….

-My constellations. The Horn Constellation, the Neck Constellation, the Root Constellation, and the Heart Constellation, four constellations in total.

It would take a long time to gather all the constellations and transfer them, but transferring only the ones he possessed was a simple task.

With the addition of four constellations, Patrick felt a sense of fullness in his body and trembled.

‘Is this what divine power is?’

He felt like he understood why they were so desperate to raise their divine rank and gain greater power.

Such a sense of fullness.

This feeling of his very existence attaining a higher level was irresistibly charming.

However….

“How do I use this?”

Patrick shook off this temptation and maintained his reason.

-Indeed….

At Patrick’s appearance, the Azure Dragon was once again impressed.

For a mortal who had no divinity at all to possess divinity was an enormous temptation.

He was sure to feel a strong impulse that surpassed the five desires.

Yet, Patrick Schneider remained unshaken and maintained his reason.

‘Indeed, that must be why you were chosen.’

The Azure Dragon, having discovered a faint hope, said.

-That fiend should not be far. Please, I entrust the pursuit to you.

Patrick nodded and quickly leaped up through the crater.

“Master, are you alright?”

In front of the crater, Persona was looking at him with concern.

Patrick said to her.

“I am going after the traitor turtle. You protect the three inside and guard Pavera.”

“I will also go with…”

Ping!

Persona tried to go with him, but Patrick’s body quickly became a streak of light and rushed far away.

At that sight, Persona let out a sigh and decided to do her best at the task she was given.

In truth, if she went, she would only be a hindrance.

‘Let’s trust in Master.’

-Oh… ooooh….

The Black Tortoise was agitated, feeling a satisfying sense of fulfillment for the first time in a long while.

How long had it been?

The seven constellations were filling him with power.

It was the power of his prime, from the days when he was called the Divine Beast Black Tortoise, not the Walking Calamity.

‘I can do it.’

He had only made a mistake in the past.

Yupinel and Kalaron had also exhausted their power in that war.

If he, resurrected with the power of his prime, joined forces with the Outer God, the chances of victory were high….

“You piece of….”

Just then.

Something rushed towards him at a terrifying speed, accompanied by a voice that was audibly filled with deep rage.

“Shit!”

KABOOM!

A single streak of light exploded on the massive body of the Black Tortoise.

It was a blow so powerful that it made the Black Tortoise’s body stagger for a moment.

-Ugh….

The Black Tortoise, hit by the heavy blow, turned its head to look at Patrick and said.

-So it’s Patrick Schneider.

“That’s right. It’s me, you traitorous bastard.”

-Betrayal….

The Black Tortoise slowly turned its head towards Patrick and said.

-Since you’ve heard the whole story, you should know that we came to this world in the first place hoping for a higher divine rank.

“What’s the reason for repeating something I already know?”

-In the first place, we are invaders who came to this world to be faithful to our own desires.

“……”

-And yet you expect faith from me?

“……”

-The four of us are accomplices anyway. The only difference is that those fiends became dogs with their tails between their legs after being defeated, and I did not give up until the end.

At the Black Tortoise’s words, Patrick chuckled and said.

“That’s typical Unorthodox Faction logic.”

-What did you say?

“Their logic is just like yours. ‘Everyone is bad anyway. So it’s okay for me to do bad things too. The world is just like that. Yada yada yada….’”

-…….

Watching the silent Black Tortoise, Patrick snickered.

And then….

BOOM!

Patrick, who had stomped the ground hard, held the Black Dragon and White Dragon in his hands and said.

“I’ll tell you just one thing, you Unorthodox Faction, backstabbing, explosive turtle bastard.”

-…….

“Do you know what happens when an Unorthodox Faction bastard shamelessly flaps his mouth in front of this Radiant Dragon Great Master?”

-Well? What happens?

“Your head flies off… now!”

The moment the word ‘now’ ended, Patrick became a streak of light and rushed at the Black Tortoise.

-Hmph.

The Black Tortoise covered its body with a barrier full of divine power to prepare for Patrick’s attack.

The first blow had been a surprise attack.

But he could easily block an attack that was charging head-on.

Among the Four Calamities, he boasted the most solid defense….

CR-A-A-A-A-A-A-ACK!

-Keok….

A single blow.

Patrick’s blow pierced through the barrier made of the Black Tortoise’s divine power, went inside, and struck the Black Tortoise’s hard shell.

The attack was so powerful that it made the Black Tortoise’s massive body, which resembled a small mountain, tilt.

“Tsk, it didn’t flip over.”

But Patrick clicked his tongue as if even that was unsatisfactory.

However, unlike the disappointed Patrick, the Black Tortoise was astonished.

Crack. Crack-crack.

-My… my back armor?

His shell, the most solid in the world, was cracked and pieces were falling off.

This was not something that could be achieved with just brute force.

How could a being without divinity injure him in his prime?

The seed of the World Tree?

No, that’s not enough.

There was only one possibility that could explain this.

-Did the Azure Dragon give you its constellations?

“Oh, you’re quick on the uptake.”

-Kuk…. So. That’s how it is.

The Black Tortoise, upon hearing this fact, rather scoffed.

-In the end, that fiend has also given up.

“Huh? What? What do you mean?”

-As a human, you can only accept the protection of the constellations once.

“…So?”

-It means that even if I changed my mind now and wanted to give you my constellations, I could not. In other words, you cannot accumulate enough divinity to face the Outer God.

“……”

-Hehehe…. To pour the water of life on a burning foot… what a foolish thing to do…. That fiend is finished.

“……”

-Human. I will make you a proposal.

“……”

-At this moment, your chances of defeating the Outer God have completely vanished. So, surrender meekly and hand over your constellations to me. If you do so, I will at least keep this world peaceful for as long as you live.

“……”

-It is a groundbreaking proposal. No matter how long your life is, it will not exceed 200 years. During that time, you will be able to fully enjoy wealth and glory among humans.

“……”

-What are you hesitating for? You do not seem like a human who would foolishly throw away their life for justice or a great cause.

“……”

-…….

“……”

-Hey. Answer….

“Good. I’ve gathered it all.”

Just as the Black Tortoise was about to press for an answer, Patrick opened his mouth.

And he said with a grin.

“Ah, sorry. Could you say that again? I stopped listening from the middle, figuring you’d be spouting nonsense anyway.”

-How dare you….

“If you don’t like it, how about you eat this?”

And from Patrick’s sword, an enormous amount of Formed Qi of Intent exploded out.

[ Radiant Dragon Twelve Sword Forms: Eleventh Form: Raging Dragon Torrent ]

Patrick’s Raging Dragon Torrent, having accumulated a great deal of qi, swept over the Black Tortoise with tremendous power.

Countless black and white sword dragons poured out and swallowed the Black Tortoise.

-You baaaastard!

The Black Tortoise, engulfed in the torrent of ferocious Formed Qi of Intent, let out a roar.

With its shell already broken and its defense lowered, Patrick’s attack dealt considerable damage.

But…

-I will kill you!

This was not a fatal blow to the Black Tortoise, who had recovered the power of its prime.

The fiend emitted divine power from its entire body, unleashing a terrifying cold energy and a black aura.

‘I get the ice, but what is that darkish aura? It seems a bit different from demonic energy.’

Patrick, on guard, put some distance between them.

And he was able to immediately identify what that black aura was.

Ssssssssss…. Snap!

The moment the black aura touched them, the earth dried up and the vegetation withered.

It was as if life itself was disappearing.

‘The aura of death?’

In the first place, the Black Tortoise was the divine beast of the north that presided over death.

The pure aura of death it emitted was fatal to living beings.

-There is nowhere to run.

The Black Tortoise emitted more of the aura, turning the area into a domain of death.

Patrick was also completely surrounded by that domain, but…

“Ugh….”

He did not immediately die.

The energy of the constellations entrusted to Patrick by the Azure Dragon was pushing back the Black Tortoise’s authority.

‘I don’t think I can hold out for long.’

However, was it because of the difference in divine power?

Realizing that he couldn’t hold on indefinitely, Patrick moved his sword without hesitation.

His opponent was the Black Tortoise, who had recovered the strength of its prime.

There was no point in testing the waters with minor techniques.

He had to go all out from the start.

[ Radiant Dragon Twelve Sword Forms: Twelfth Form: Final Secret Art: Radiant Dragon’s Reign Under Heaven ]

A dragon of light soared high into the sky, surrounding Patrick.

It shone uniquely and loftily even within the domain of death that the Black Tortoise emitted.

From within it, Patrick glanced to one side.

‘I have to hurry.’

The domain of death emitted by the Black Tortoise was gradually expanding.

In a few minutes, this domain would reach Pavera.

Although they were retainers of Kalaron, as long as there were people living their lives diligently in their home….

‘I will do what I have to do.’

The Radiant Dragon Great Master never abandons his chivalry.

Because that’s how he was raised.

“Here I coooome!”

-Come!

The giant dragon of light collided head-on with the demonic beast of death.

KABOOOOOM!

The momentum was evenly matched.

Although the Black Tortoise’s aura was larger, the dragon of light did not hesitate and continued to clash.

Fragments of light fell every time it was pushed back by the immense force emitted by the Black Tortoise, but still, the dragon of light did not retreat.

“Haaaaaaaaaaaah!”

Patrick, inside the Radiant Dragon, clashed with the Black Tortoise with all his qi and intent.

BOOM! BANG! KABOOOOOM!

The clash of the two was like a scene from a myth, and the sight was visible even to those living far away in Pavera.

“What on earth is that….”

“Isn’t that the Walking Calamity?”

“Why is he attacking us?”

The residents of Pavera, who had revered the Four Calamities like living gods, were confused.

Even as they saw and felt the encroaching aura of death, they could not comprehend the situation.

Just then….

“Everyone, calm down.”

Edward, the representative of Pavera and the lord of the vampire clan, stepped forward and said.

“The man of prophecy is fighting for us.”

“What? The man of prophecy?”

“What does that….”

To the bewildered residents, the other representatives said.

“The Walking Calamity has betrayed us. He is no longer our god.”

Luna, of the dark elf tribe, appeared and said.

As she was a direct retainer of the Black Tortoise, her words carried a particular weight.

And….

“This humble servant will also guarantee it.”

Next to her, So Dalg-i also agreed.

And….

“Prioritize the children and the elderly. Evacuate the residents at once!”

Storm Spear, the retainer of the Vermilion Bird, appeared with a large number of his subordinates, put the residents on their backs, and began to evacuate them.

“Everyone, evacuate. You must get as far away as possible.”

The residents of Pavera, finally grasping the situation, hurriedly followed the orders.

“Put the children and the elderly on their backs first!”

“Those who can run and fly on their own, move at once. There is nothing in this city that should be prioritized over people!”

They moved quickly and took shelter.

But the four representatives, while evacuating the residents in an orderly fashion, thought to themselves.

‘Sir Patrick, please hurry.’

‘You must win.’

Although they would try to get as far away from that domain of death as possible, if they eventually ran out of places to escape, they would be swallowed by the domain.

The only way to survive was for Patrick to defeat the Walking Calamity before then.
