My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 559: Chapter 350: Dawn Era Survival Strategy Outline (3)

This included people like Lei Jiaming, Zhao Xueqing’s cousin Han Qifeng, Li Xiang’s younger cousin, and several female streamers from Eternal Night Media.

They weren’t very strong. Even Lei Jiaming, the one with the highest Realm, was only Tier Six. In a massive war like this, they wouldn’t be much help on the front lines, but they could make a huge difference by treating the wounded.

Li Xiang didn’t stay at the base for long. He soon set out again to rescue other Underground Cities.

With his Extreme Speed of Mach 40, he served as a global firefighter. Naturally, he prioritized his home country before heading abroad.

War raged across Earth. On every battlefield he visited, he focused solely on killing Saint Tier Exotic Beasts, leaving those below Saint Tier to be handled by high-tech weaponry.

Firearms weren’t very effective against anything above Tier Six, but powerful explosives like bombs, artillery shells, and missiles were still highly effective against Exotic Beasts below Saint Tier. The problem was, with the entire population having moved underground, productivity had regressed and manufacturing capacity was insufficient. No one knew how long their stockpiles would last.

In addition to killing Saint Tiers, Li Xiang also took care of any reckless High Tier Exotic Beasts that crossed his path. After traveling back and forth across Earth for many days, he had harvested a large number of Achievement Points, Spiritual Medicines, and Extraordinary Items.

In the process, he also gained a preliminary understanding of the number and strength of the Exotic Beasts on Earth.

He estimated there were several thousand Above Saint Tier, and several million below.

However, what he found strange was that only about a tenth of them actively attacked human Underground Cities. The vast majority simply found a place to live and began building nests, making no special effort to hunt for human settlements.

As for Divine Tier and above, they were nowhere to be found.

’Could it be that those enormous Female Beasts, just like the ones on the Moon, have burrowed deep underground? What are they planning?’ This question lingered in Li Xiang’s mind.

He’d gotten an update on the situation after returning. Jiang Cai’Er told him their radar had detected Exotic Beasts with terrifying body lengths of two to three thousand kilometers—even larger than the ones seen on the Moon.

While size wasn’t an absolute measure of an Exotic Beast’s strength, it was still a rough indicator.

The ones they’d encountered on the Moon were all Divine Tier, so it was highly likely these new ones on Earth were even more powerful.

It was worth noting that Chiba Yuki, Erin, and Yaki Toto had not been attacked. They had kept a low profile, and other nearby Underground Cities or tribes had drawn the enemy’s fire.

They had their own hands full and could only offer limited aid, such as searching for survivors after battles, treating the wounded, and bringing them back to their base.

Li Xiang paid them a quiet visit, telling them to remain hidden and focus on their Cultivation, before hurrying off to support other areas.

The Twin Gouyu wanted to go with Li Xiang, but he stopped them, telling them to wait until they were stronger.

As for Erin, her children were naturally very attached to Li Xiang. Her youngest daughter, Sonia, hugged him and wouldn’t let go, but finally released him through her tears.

Li Xiang, in turn, felt deeply guilty for not being able to spend proper time with the children.

After nearly half a month of fierce fighting, the Exotic Beasts began to quiet down, ceasing their frequent, large-scale attacks. Li Xiang was utterly exhausted and needed to rest. On his way home, he passed by the Qinling Ancestral Vein, and with a flash, his figure vanished deep underground.

The Elder in Dragon Robe emerged to greet him. The elder looked exhausted and appeared greatly weakened, having clearly endured a series of major battles. The Underground City he guarded, and the two to three hundred kilometers surrounding it, were all safe, so Li Xiang had nothing to worry about there.

The same was true for the Imperial Capital and Jinling.

”Senior, do you know the whereabouts and Realms of those Female Beasts?” Li Xiang asked after a brief exchange of pleasantries.

The Elder in Dragon Robe stroked his beard, his expression grave. ”The ones that came are all Above Divine Tier; they should be Divine King Realm Exotic Beasts. They’ve all gone underground. They may be plotting against Earth.”

”Plotting against Earth?” Li Xiang asked in surprise.

The Elder in Dragon Robe said, ”This may be related to the Realms of Cultivation. I myself was born of Nature, a Divine Tier from the moment of my creation. Yet for thousands of years, I have remained in this Realm, unable to advance a single step. In truth, I am not very clear about the path that lies ahead, or the one that came before.”

After bidding the elder farewell, Li Xiang returned home and shared a tender moment with Jiang Cai’Er. Later that night, as the two lay in bed—oh, but there was no daytime anymore. It was an age of eternal night.

However, the Underground Cities continued to use the old timekeeping methods and calendar, relying on virtual calculations. Every day, the city would announce the time on schedule, dictating when the streetlights turned on and off. It was just the reverse of how things used to be. Before, lights were barely needed during the day, but now, the streetlights were brightest during the ”day” and dimmest at ”night.”

The residents all kept to their old routines and sleep schedules.

After their intimacy, they began to discuss the matter. Li Xiang provided all the intelligence he had gathered, and Jiang Cai’Er activated the predictive power of the Quantum Computer, performing complex calculations. Li Xiang could only see a flickering light emanating from her body. After a long while, she finally shared a horrifying possibility with him.

”Could they be trying to resonate with the Planet Will? Or perhaps... replace it and become the rulers of Earth?”

”If that’s really the case, once they succeed, the civilization of Earth Humans could be replaced by that of the Exotic Beasts.”

After all, a Planet Master would not tolerate another race holding a dominant position. Even if it allowed them to exist, it would likely be as livestock—much like how humans on Earth currently treat other animals.

Humans, at least, build zoos or designate nature reserves to protect rare species. But the Beast Race from deep space was unlikely to be so benevolent.
