My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 553: Chapter 348: Darkness Invades, the Apocalypse Officially Descends

Li Xiang opened his eyes and activated his Nine Nether Falsehood-Breaking Gaze. He peered into the distance and saw an endless black fog surging into the Solar Element. It blotted out the sky, flooding his vision like an ant on the edge of the ocean watching an endless tide roll in.

The feeling of pressure was incomparable.

HISS~

As the core of the Solar Element—the burning star itself—was engulfed by the black fog, a chill washed over Li Xiang, as if he’d been plunged into an icy abyss. In his previous life, he had been completely clueless. Stationed on Earth, he actually knew very little about the truth of the Apocalypse.

He wasn’t the only one in the dark; Earth’s entire civilization had known precious little.

But in this life, his Nine Nether Falsehood-Breaking Gaze pierced through the black fog, and he was horrified to discover nine Kings of Exotic Beasts, each as massive as a planet, plunging into the Sun’s blazing flames.

There were three Divine Level Earth Vein Spirits on Earth, but Li Xiang felt that compared to these nine Kings of Exotic Beasts, those three seniors were not just a little bit weaker—they weren’t even in the same league.

WHOOSH~

Li Xiang fully activated his Mutant Creature Identification Function, but it could only cover a radius of two hundred kilometers. The Moon was about 150 million kilometers from the Sun, so he had no way of learning the Tiers of those behemoths.

The only reason he could see them from so far away was because the nine Exotic Beast Kings were simply too massive. Three of them looked to be two or three times larger than Jupiter, and among the eight planets in the Solar Element, Jupiter was the largest by volume.

Jupiter’s volume is approximately 1,300,000 times that of Earth. If those behemoths were to come to Earth, they could probably swallow the planet in a single gulp.

The more Li Xiang thought about it, the more terrified he became. A wave of despair washed over him.

’How are we supposed to fight this?’

Li Xiang took out a cigarette, then put it back. There was no oxygen on the Moon, so it wouldn’t light. If Jiang Cai’Er were here, maybe he could have managed.

”Even in the face of adversity, you must have faith in the future!” Li Xiang roared continuously, venting for more than ten minutes. A long while passed before his mind gradually calmed. If it had been a more anxious person, one who’d been worrying for the past decade, they would have likely crumbled by now.

Unfortunately, sound couldn’t travel in the vacuum of space.

The black fog moved extremely fast, arriving before him in about an hour.

Darkness descended upon the Earth-Moon Element.

Endless Extraordinary Particles churned in the air. Li Xiang took a deep breath, devouring a massive amount of them like a whale, and felt a sense of comfort spread through his entire body.

These Extraordinary Particles were a sliver of hope in a desperate situation.

An Exotic Beast that blotted out the sky, with a wingspan of several hundred kilometers, appeared above the Moon, right within the range of Li Xiang’s Mutated Creature Identification. Instantly, Li Xiang’s system began to spam notifications:

”Detected Tier 31 Mutated Creature: Eclipsed Moon Star Remains Beast.”

”Detected Tier Twenty-Eight Mutated Creature: Eclipsed Moon Star Remains Beast.”

”Detected Tier Twenty-Three Mutated Creature: Eclipsed Moon Star Remains Beast.”

”Detected Tier Twenty Mutated Creature: Eclipsed Moon Star Remains Beast.”

”Detected Tier Nineteen Mutated Creature: Eclipsed Moon Star Remains Beast.”

...

Tiers Nineteen to Twenty-Eight were Saint Tier, and Tiers Twenty-Nine to Thirty-Eight were Divine Tier.

Li Xiang quickly glanced at his system panel. There was only one at the Divine Tier, which must have been the Exotic Beast with the wingspan of several hundred kilometers. There were dozens at the Saint Tier, and tens of thousands below Saint Tier...

’Huh? Where are all these Saint Tier and sub-Saint Tier beasts?’ His gaze sharpened, and he quickly discovered that the Exotic Beasts were inside the Female Beast’s belly.

He watched as a long slit opened on the underside of the Female Beast’s belly, like a transport plane opening its ramp for paratroopers. A dense swarm of Exotic Beasts immediately poured out.

The system’s timeline had returned to normal and the bug had been fixed. The Exotic Beasts detected now were not the ordinary wild animals from before; their Levels were real and accurate.

How could Li Xiang possibly fight such a powerful Exotic Beast Legion all by himself? How could he ever defeat them all?

The Female Beast didn’t seem to notice him. Li Xiang’s figure flashed, and he retreated at an Extreme Speed of Mach 40, covering several hundred kilometers in just a few breaths.

After deploying tens of thousands of Exotic Beasts, the Female Beast’s entire body suddenly sank into the Moon. It actually knew Earth Escape and vanished from sight.

Li Xiang hid on the ridge of a crater, concealing himself among the rocks with only his head exposed. He secretly scanned his surroundings. Despite the endless darkness and the churning black fog, his Nine Nether Falsehood-Breaking Gaze allowed him to see everything as clear as day.

A chill ran down his spine as he noticed many more such ”transport” Female Beasts in the distance. They were all opening their bellies, dropping tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, of Space Exotic Beasts.

Some of these Exotic Beasts looked identical to the Eclipsed Moon Star Remains Beasts from before, while others were completely different. They were clearly several distinct species.

System: ”Detected Tier 34 Mutated Creature: Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle.”

”Detected Tier Twenty-Eight Mutated Creature: Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle.”

”Detected Tier Twenty-Five Mutated Creature: Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle.”

”Detected Tier Twenty-Two Mutated Creature: Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle.”

”Detected Tier Twenty Mutated Creature: Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle.”

”Detected Tier 17 Mutated Creature: Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle.”

...

Suddenly, the Tier 34 Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle spotted him. Just as Li Xiang was about to flee, it moved faster than him—at least Mach 100. A massive claw descended from the sky. The claw alone was dozens of miles wide. BOOM! Li Xiang had no way to dodge. His opponent was a full Tier Twelve higher than him and also had the advantage of its immense size.

Fortunately, Li Xiang was wearing the Giant Whale Saint Armor and was incredibly tough, so he was only blasted into the lunar soil, creating a massive crater.

Before he could even climb back up, the endless swarm of Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagles dove toward his landing spot. Among them were over thirty Saint Tier beasts, eight of which were a higher Level than him, and at least a hundred thousand more below Saint Tier.

After striking out with its claw, the Tier 34 Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle didn’t even spare Li Xiang a second glance. It hurriedly deployed its children, and then, with a flicker of its body, it also plunged into the Moon just like the other Female Beasts.

On the surface and in space, there were endless Exotic Beasts. Li Xiang was instantly swallowed by the horde.

He didn’t dare use Earth Escape to burrow into the Moon’s interior either.

’There are even more powerful beings in there. Wouldn’t going in be suicide?’

’Relatively speaking, it’s safer out here.’

Li Xiang whipped out his White Jade Golden Hook Rod. With a fierce shake, he unleashed his 700,000-jin Giant Power. His Spiritual Power vibrated throughout his body as he executed a Crossing the Thousand Army, sweeping away the dozens of Exotic Beasts closest to him like autumn winds scattering fallen leaves.

Many of the Exotic Beasts were killed on the spot; they were no match for a single blow from him.

Although he had a few grains of Star Sand, each weighing from one hundred to several hundred tons, activating them consumed too much Spiritual Power for a sustained battle. The White Jade Golden Hook Rod was far more suitable.

In that single moment, he gained over ten thousand Achievement Points, more than two hundred Spiritual Medicines, and seven or eight Extraordinary Items.

At this moment, he couldn’t spare the mental energy to inspect his spoils. He could only unleash his consummate Martial Arts and try to carve out an escape route.

But no matter how long his Fighting Power could last, there were simply too many Exotic Beasts on the Moon for him to kill.

Unfortunately, besides the Exotic Beasts below Tier Eighteen, there were also dozens of Saint Tier ones blocking his path from every direction. For a moment, Li Xiang charged left and right, but he couldn’t break through the encirclement.

He was starting to regret coming to the Moon. His original plan to draw the enemy’s fire in space had clearly failed.

He was like a pebble tossed into the ocean, unable to make a single ripple. How could he possibly attract their attention?

Aside from the Blazing Heaven-Burning Eagle that had casually swatted him, the other powerful Female Beasts hadn’t even looked at him.

It was like a person walking down a road, with a few ants by the wayside screaming and shouting at them. The human wouldn’t even see them, and even if they did, they probably couldn’t be bothered to lift a foot to crush them.

He had severely misjudged both his own strength and the true power of the Exotic Beasts. But he couldn’t be blamed. In his previous life, he was merely a minor company commander, only at Tier Five. And among all the humans on Earth, there were only a handful of Saint Tiers. They knew nothing about the truth of the Apocalypse.

’At this point, my only option is to fight my way back and defend the base.’

Li Xiang had a feeling that the enemies on Earth would be even more numerous and powerful. After all, the Moon was just a satellite, while Earth was much larger. You didn’t need to be a genius to know that even more legions must have descended on Earth.

Why had those Divine Tier Female Beasts burrowed deep into the Moon and not reemerged? The more Li Xiang thought about it, the more terrified he became.

...

「On Earth. The Li Family Village Underground City.」

A little over an hour ago, it had been high noon outside. The sun was scorching, and the heat was blistering. But then, suddenly, the Sun ”went out,” and the sky turned black.

At that time, the black fog had not yet reached Earth; it was still on its way.

”Attention all residents, attention all residents. Darkness has fallen. Everyone is to return home immediately. Going outside is strictly prohibited.”

In the Li Family Village Underground City, broadcasts simultaneously blared from every corner of the main city and its twelve satellite cities, playing on a continuous loop. Many people who had been strolling through the underground commercial plazas rushed home in a panic.

All the various shops also shut their doors in a hurry. As for the schools, on such a critical day, they had never even opened.

Before long, the streetlights and the lights inside nearly every building went out one after another.

People hid in the darkness of their homes, tense and barely daring to breathe, as if hiding this way made them feel safer.

Meanwhile, other Underground Cities around the world had issued similar emergency notices.

However, there were still some audacious people who secretly slipped out.
