Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 365: Chapter 206: Descent of the God Ritual_3

If Ebert and the church’s experiment back then had succeeded, Erin would have fully merged with the Holy Mark as a child, awakening its power, and what awaited her next would be the Descent of the God ritual.

A high price can naturally yield powerful effects.

Unlike an ordinary Earthly Divine Kingdom, the god descending through the Descent of the God ritual doesn’t arrive as just a projection, but as a clone, able to transcend the planar barrier to some extent.

Just like the initial Erin, even without completing the ascent, she could briefly use the Powerful Angel level power in the Desolate Realm.

The Descent of the God ritual is easy to understand, but there’s a problem: Fang Hui is a man, while the Bliss Sect’s Mother Goddess is clearly a goddess.

Could it be a male mother?

Wu Chang pointed at Fang Hui on the toilet and asked, ”Since it’s the Descent of the God ritual, why did you choose a man as the vessel?”

Kong Lin spread his hands and said:

”This is easy to understand. With a Mother Goddess, there must be a Saint Heir. The descent of the Mother Goddess requires the Saint Heir as a medium. The Mother Goddess will merge spiritually with the Saint Heir before descending, blending into one another.”

”When the Saint Heir’s soul returns to the embrace of the Mother Goddess, she will descend into this body and transform it into her own.”

Wu Chang asked, ”So, you’re saying that he’s a man now, but after the descent ritual, he’ll become a woman?”

Kong Lin nodded and said, ”Exactly.”

Wu Chang clicked his tongue and thought, damn, he’s suddenly curious what the feminized version of Fang Hui would look like.

Couldn’t he negotiate with the Mother Goddess to not stay permanently, just transform and then quickly leave?

While the two talked, Gu Feng and others had already taken out their items, readying for battle.

Gu Feng’s combat item was the Shield Sword, with a shield-shaped artifact in his left hand and a long, broad Heavy Sword in his right, shouting:

”Enough talk, Kong Lin. Back then, for the sake of the contract, I turned a blind eye when you came in, yet you repaid kindness with malice. As the guardian of this Pillar of the Present World and an Executor of the Management Bureau, I will not allow the Evil God to descend!”

Having said his piece, Gu Feng, without further ado, charged towards Fang Hui with his shield, as if he were a bulldozer about to topple the toilet.

The face of Fang Hui atop the toilet showed panic. He wanted to dodge but felt weak all over; his legs were numb, rendering him helpless as he watched Gu Feng charge forward.

At that moment, he was utterly despairing.

Bang!

When Gu Feng was three meters in front of Fang Hui, he crashed heavily into an invisible barrier, coming to a halt.

Behind Gu Feng, Kong Lin could be seen slowly lowering his Magic Wand.

”Fear not, Saint Heir, as long as I’m here, they can’t harm you!”

Gu Feng’s two followers immediately joined the fray upon seeing this, engaging in battle with the Great Nun beside Kong Lin.

In a room less than a hundred square meters, except for Fang Hui sitting on the toilet at the center, five Abyss Second Layer players were fighting simultaneously. The intensity and danger of the battle surpassed that of the outside.

Fearing accidental injury from either side, Wu Chang and He Yun stood against the wall.

He Yun whispered, ”Should we help Gu Feng and the others now?”

Wu Chang puzzledly asked, ”Why help them?”

He Yun frowned; wasn’t the reasoning simple?

”What if they lose the fight and the Evil God descends?”

Wu Chang said, ”They’re indeed preparing for the Evil God’s descent, but the Descent of the God ritual is far from complete; there’s plenty of time.”

The ritual is proceeding slowly, naturally due to Fang Hui’s current condition.

If the soul had substance, Fang Hui’s soul would have been pulled out by now, and in this state, even the Mother Goddess couldn’t help but stare in vain.

He Yun asked, ”So what should we do now, just watch?”

Wu Chang quietly replied, ”Of course not. Let them continue fighting outside; we’ll go directly to the true Stone Temple at the back, cut off the Evil God’s descent channel at the source, and they won’t need to fight.”

Let them fight, the more intense the better. Once I achieve a breakthrough with this Pillar of the Present World, they’ll all settle down.
