Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 362: Chapter 205: He Yun’s Plane Ascension Plan

This question stumped Wu Chang.

To be honest, before discovering He Yun’s amnesia, he did indeed think He Yun was a high-level player like himself, adept at selective expression and information deception.

But why was it when He Yun said he had amnesia, Wu Chang so easily believed him, and was even willing to help He Yun break through the Stone Divine Hall?

Because he was attracted to He Yun’s body?

That was not the case. Although He Yun was his type, he also had Erin outside; even within the Underground Shelter, if he were only attracted to someone’s body, he would have joined the Bliss Sect long ago.

Fang Hui could be encircled by thirteen beautiful girls; with his mysterious newcomer status, wouldn’t he deserve seventy-two?

Because he wanted to get this Pillar of the Present World, so he helped He Yun in passing?

This was part of the reason, but if he was truly only focused on strategizing the Pillar of the Present World, there were many things he wouldn’t need to tell He Yun, and would treat He Yun more like a tool.

Like Li Yubin in the last dungeon, he saw him purely as a tool.

He cared about He Yun, wanting to break through this Pillar of the Present World together with He Yun.

But why?

In the Peaceful Town Dungeon, Jermaine the Count and the Great Saint Mother, one considered himself an Artificial God, the other considered herself the True God ruling over humanity, yet he took out both of them.

In the Midnight Graveyard Dungeon, he learned of a mysterious organization plotting something involving the Abyss Second Layer, hiring Iron Armor Corps players to lead the dungeon into chaos. Not only did he refuse to back down because of this, but he also planned to hunt down Iron Armor Corps’ dogs in the future.

In the Silent Route Dungeon, Gao Mu Country and Mi Empire collaborated, laying heavy traps, believing the people on the Star Jump were just sacrificial offerings that must die. Yet he was determined to let everyone survive well and wiped out all those who came from the Blue Island to clean up.

As for the Pillar of the Present World, he heard intelligence about it from Kristen. When Kristen said the outcome of the Pillar of the Present World and the Desolate Realm was already predetermined, he instead sought a way to toy with a Pillar of the Present World.

Perhaps the reason has become quite obvious.

After some silence, Wu Chang slowly said:

”Perhaps it’s because of your determination to change?”

He Yun had guessed many possible answers, even including simple perfunctory ones, but did not expect Wu Chang’s response.

Faced with He Yun’s puzzled look, Wu Chang smiled awkwardly, feeling unexpectedly embarrassed for revealing his inner thoughts in front of others for the first time.

”You know, places like the 88th Underground Shelter, we outsiders call it the Pillar of the Present World. Gu Feng has told you about its existence, so I won’t elaborate.”

”Before I came here, I met someone very high-ranking.”

Wu Chang gestured above the car ceiling, saying: ”This person of high status, his existence isn’t much less significant than the things worshipped in the Stone Temple.”

”At that time, He told me all the Pillars of the Present World were doomed, unchangeable. He said I couldn’t stop them, nor could my companions; participating would only endanger my life.”

Wu Chang shook his head, saying: ”I know He meant well with that remark, but hearing it made me feel very unpleasant. Can you understand that feeling?”

He Yun nodded and said: ”I can understand a bit.”

”A bit is not enough; you must comprehend more, and be more dissatisfied!” Wu Chang wrinkled his nose, saying discontentedly.

”All the changes happening to the Pillars of the Present World clearly have traces of their participation, yet they talk nonsense about predetermined endings—what does that mean?”

”Isn’t it just telling me that a group of elites has already prearranged the way the world operates, that their reach is vast, their arms long, their fists heavy, suggesting I shouldn’t overestimate myself by approaching and better keep my distance?”

Wu Chang scoffed and said:

”I’m the kind of person who doesn’t like getting involved; I prefer staying in the shadows, watching others fight to the death, then dragging the severely injured into the darkness to quietly consume.”

”But I do this to make hunting more efficient, not because I’m afraid of conflict.”

”I weigh over a hundred ninety pounds, at least a hundred eighty pounds is rebellious spirit. The more these self-righteous individuals try to control others’ destinies, the more I want to disrupt their plans.”

”So, when you expressed a desire to escape the cycle of the Underground Shelter and end this predetermined fate, I felt I had to trust you, just like I trust myself.”

After saying all this, Wu Chang looked at He Yun, wondering if his reasoning would convince He Yun.

However, judging by He Yun’s reaction, the persuasion seemed effective.

He Yun’s face showed much less hesitation and guilt, and confidence resurfaced just as it had when they first met.

He Yun looked out the window, avoiding Wu Chang’s gaze, and said;

”Honestly, your expectations for me seem even heavier than my brother’s. This is bad; I was originally working towards the worst outcome, but now I have to put in some extra effort.”

Wu Chang said: ”I’ve said it before, I’ll walk with you to the final step.”

While they conversed, the armored transport vehicle had already reached near the Stone Divine Hall; a little further and they would see the giant metal gate blocking the Stone Divine Hall.

Contrary to the scene of resentment, in front of the giant metal gate, a small Stone Temple had been erected.

In front of the small temple, the Bliss Sect followers were entangled in a battle with Meng Yawen and the guy with the helmet.
