Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 357: Chapter 204: Fanning the Flames

Wu Chang tentatively asked, ”Are they very ugly?”

Fang Hui replied, ”No, they’re all very beautiful.”

Wu Chang took a sharp breath, damn, do you even hear what you’re saying?

Are you calling me just to show off?

”I’m busy, I’ll hang up now. If you bother me with such trivial matters again, I’ll consider scheduling specific times to take your calls.”

On the other end, Fang Hui panicked, ”Wait! I’m not joking, don’t hang up!”

Wu Chang remained silent, waiting for what Fang Hui had to say next.

After a moment of silence, Fang Hui said, ”If I were still single, maybe this wouldn’t be life-threatening, but that’s not the case now. I have a girlfriend.”

Wu Chang raised an eyebrow, surprised by Fang Hui’s sense of responsibility, willing to resist for Meng Yawen’s sake.

He couldn’t say the same for others; if he were in enemy territory and subjected to such a test, his reaction wouldn’t be as dramatic as Fang Hui’s.

Fang Hui: ”If my girlfriend finds out I’ve cheated, she will definitely kill me. I’m not exaggerating; this is a literal statement.”

Wu Chang: ...

Give me back my admiration.

”Is it really that serious? I think, well, from what I know about people, as long as you explain that you couldn’t resist, everything will eventually settle down.”

In Wu Chang’s impression, Meng Yawen had a carefree and cheerful personality, not as severe as Fang Hui claimed.

Over the phone, Fang Hui’s voice noticeably quivered, as if recalling some terrifying memory, he trembled and said:

”I’m not exaggerating at all. You don’t know, I sleep very lightly, and often in a half-sleep state, I hear someone whispering in my ear. Once, as I heard whispering, I squinted awake and found my girlfriend letting me rest on her lap, giving me a knee pillow.”

Wu Chang furrowed his brow, are you about to get lucky again?

Thankfully, this time Fang Hui didn’t take a dramatic pause, and continued:

”In my sleep, she held my head and whispered softly for nearly twenty minutes, in that kindergarten teacher’s tone, saying things like don’t betray her or flirt around.”

”When I thought she’d be distracted and wanted to squint to glance at her, I met her eyes directly. During this time, she had been staring intently at my face, even smiling at me when I looked at her.”

Alright, Wu Chang admitted, that was indeed a bit creepy.

He never imagined that Meng Yawen, who appeared so sunny and cheerful on the surface, like a big sister type, was actually a yandere behind the scenes.

If someone else told him Meng Yawen was like this behind the scenes, he’d definitely think they were talking nonsense. Sister Meng brought him into the Management Bureau, could she really be that type of person?

But with Fang Hui, the credibility of that story soared.

All the girlfriends he’s had, none were normal. He once thought Meng Yawen was a rare exception, but it turns out she just didn’t show her true self to others.

”Then why don’t you break up?” Wu Chang asked.

Having such a creepy encounter, anyone else wouldn’t be able to bear it, and if they were on a video call, he’d say, ”Blink if you’re being coerced.”

Fang Hui sighed and said, ”Actually, my girlfriend is pretty good most of the time, especially during the day. She doesn’t show any abnormal signs, even the day after that happened, she still acted normally, so I suspect she has a dual personality.”

”But even with dual personalities, neither one has been bad to me. I never planned to cheat, so why break up?”

”But now it’s different, now I’m forced. Mr. Peace, you have to save me, or even if I manage to leave alive, my nighttime girlfriend will stab me.”

It’s no wonder Fang Hui panicked; if Meng Yawen’s true nature is as he described, she could very well stab him.

Wu Chang pondered for a moment and said, ”I do have a method, but you’ll have to endure some pain. Are you willing?”

Fang Hui immediately shouted, ”Of course, I’m willing!”

Better endure it now, later there might be no chance to suffer.

”Then let me try.”

Wu Chang said as he activated his Curse Skill, trying to cast it over the phone on Fang Hui.

”Unlimited Personal Streaming Room” according to the Skill Description, can only transmit audio and visual abilities, but his Curse Skill doesn’t specify face-to-face execution.

He once heard from He Wei that they watched a horror film with a switched source, resulting in the entire club being targeted by the ghost at night.

If such a weak ghost can lock onto a target through video, he wondered if he could curse someone remotely using the Curse.

In terms of means of transmission or Skill Level, his ability obviously surpasses that ghost, so why not?

This thought lingered and was never implemented until now, the perfect moment.

With the Curse Skill activated, he truly sensed Fang Hui’s liveliness across the phone.

Then he pointed remotely, and Fang Hui immediately fell victim.

Although Fang Hui innately possessed the Light of Origin, it was not yet activated, plus he’s not a Player, his Inspiration and Will far inferior to Wu Chang.

Fang Hui triggered a special status without surprise.

”When the combined Inspiration Will Attribute of the target is less than 20% of the user’s two attributes combined, the effect triggers: ’Plague,’ ’Inviting Calamity,’ ’Curse’”
