Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 320: Chapter 193: Pillar of the Present World (Part 2)

”The connection between Abyss First Layer and Abyss Second Layer?” Wu Chang furrowed his brow, the insider details of that explosion seemed to be even more explosive than he had imagined.

Kristen continued:

”You don’t seem like a core member of any faction, how much do you know about Abyss Second Layer.”

Wu Chang honestly replied, ”I only know that once players enter Abyss Second Layer, trying to return to the real world is met with many restrictions.”

Kristen gave Wu Chang a surprised look, ”You really aren’t a core member of any faction then, would you be interested in joining Revelation? I can offer you whatever treatment you want; I can even arrange several planes for you to play.”

Wu Chang clicked his tongue, realizing he was being set up earlier by these old foxes; talking to them requires complete vigilance.

But speaking of which, he originally thought that the Management Bureau directly gave him housing allocation and welfare benefits which were good enough, but facing Kristen who casually offers several planes, the competition is still too weak.

”Sorry, I already have faith, and for now, I don’t intend to bind with any faction. If one day I reach Abyss Third Layer, maybe we can collaborate.”

If it were someone else, daring to speak of entering Abyss Third Layer from level 24 in Desolate Realm, and wanting to collaborate with High-level Gods, would be like a pig knocking on the doorbell at Boar Station — who do you think you are?

But Kristen didn’t find Wu Chang’s words laughable; she just thought it was a pity.

”If you change your mind in the future, feel free to find me anytime. Now, let’s continue with the previous topic; you indeed don’t have much understanding of Abyss Second Layer, but have you ever thought about it? The plane barriers in Desolate Realm hinder gods like us from entering, requiring us to bypass these barriers through the Earthly Divine Kingdom or other methods to appear in Desolate Realm.”

”You so-called players can leave Desolate Realm and arrive at the Realm of Reason in Abyss Second Layer, which indicates your level of power exceeds the plane barriers of Desolate Realm. Then how can you freely return to reality without any obstruction?”

”You should know, the basic plane where your world resides — as you refer to it as reality — has surrounding plane barriers that are even thicker with greater restrictions than those of Desolate Realm.”

Wu Chang nodded in agreement after hearing this; Kristen was right. Previously his focus was primarily on his own matter as he just joined the Abyssal Game not long ago, and Abyss Second Layer still seemed too distant for him.

Now thinking back, he used to believe players could return to reality from Abyss Second Layer because of the privileges provided by Abyssal Game.

Yet Shi Ning had clearly informed him that players returning from Abyss Second Layer must meet stringent conditions, proving Abyssal Game can’t exempt players from the plane barriers.

He had an epiphany and said, ”The Four Major Organizations have some ability, allowing high-level plane players to be summoned like by the Earthly Divine Kingdom, bypass the plane barriers, and smuggle back to reality?!”

Kristen laughed, ”Indeed you are smart; they do have such abilities.”

”They have mastered 36 planes between Abyss First Layer and Second Layer, using them as channels that fuse the originally separated Abyss First Layer and Second Layer. As you call it, these channels are known as the 36 Pillars of the Present World.”

Upon discussing dungeons, Wu Chang got spirited up and inquired curiously, ”

Using dungeons as channels must mean they are True Dungeons; do they assure that each passage doesn’t affect the dungeon’s pollution value? Or has the dungeon completed a breakthrough, and they find a way to share post-breakthrough dungeons?”

Kristen: ”This suggests you aren’t familiar with Abyss Second Layer; you lack understanding of the whole Abyssal Game.”

Wu Chang: ...

He’s screwed, getting disdained.

Kristen didn’t seek superiority over Wu Chang; she straightforwardly explained:

”Not all dungeons face only two options between losing control or breakthrough at the endpoint. Humans can ascend, and why can’t planes ascend too? When a plane from Abyss First Layer meets certain criteria and starts ascending towards Abyss Second Layer, if it fails at that moment of completion, it falls into a special intermediate state.”

”The intermediate state dungeons have properties that are completely stable; stuck between the two layers, no matter the actions, they can’t be broken through, regressing to Desolate Realm; nor lose control, completely ascending to Realm of Reason.”

”These intermediate state dungeons are the so-called Pillars of the Present World. The Four Major Organizations hide them well; only their core players or approved players can temporarily borrow them.”

”Recently, the explosion in the Four Major Organizations aimed to disrupt the disguise and permissions of these Pillars of the Present World. Now, they’re in an open state, with entrances randomly refreshing in your world, anyone finding an entrance can enter them.”

Wu Chang understood what was said before, but he got puzzled here.

”You mentioned these Pillars of the Present World are stuck as intermediate state dungeons, unraidable and uncontrollable. Then what’s the point of going through the trouble to make them public, is it to let Abyss Second Layer players from other factions also return to reality?”

Kristen shook her head, ”Quite the opposite; making the Pillars of the Present World public isn’t to allow its use, but to destroy them. Someone discovered how to destroy these intermediate state dungeons, allowing them to completely lose control and ascend to Abyss Second Layer, and they’ve already started doing so.”
