Death… And Me

Chapter 3379: She Has a Great Future Ahead

With that out of the way, Klinron spoke. ”Alright, it is done. Come back here three days later. Thatʼs the time we will need to finish the Warm Boat.”

The two nodded and made their way out of the warehouse. They also took the chance to ask Ranfal. ”How successful is this journey normally?”

Ranfal pondered a bit. ”The Warm Boats always do a round trip. They take the guys from this side and bring them to the other side; then they do the same thing on the opposite side. Usually, you would see at least eight of ten Warm Boats returning from the round trip. But during the critical point, that number falls to four or five boats managing to make it through.”

”No wonder it is that expensive,” Kentucky nodded. ”By the way, what exactly happens inside? Why is it that dangerous?”

”Iʼve never been inside, so Iʼm not familiar,” Ranfal explained. ”But from what I heard, it is a combination of various factors—the extremely high concentration of Glacial Energy, which can freeze even Void Tempering Realm expert in minutes. Well, we are at the overflow critical point, so now even Space-Bending Realm experts would be doomed if completely exposed for long. There are also the Glacial Creatures, their strengths varying.”

”Let me see... Oh, right. You might come across separated phenomena within the Glacial Overflow phenomenon itself. For example, one that I heard is the Glacial Decay Runes that run like airstreams. If you are caught by one of such streams, then you will not just freeze but deteriorate at the same time. Anyway, those are just a few examples. It is as if there is something new every time it happens. It is truly not a very amicable place to go, especially now.”

Rean looked at the blue clouds in the distance, interested. ”Just why does this phenomenon happen? Is there a reason?”

”That I donʼt know,” Ranfal shook his head. ”Some think it might be the Divine Veins positions. Others think that the laws of the continents around the corridor just happen to converge in such a way, giving birth to the phenomenon. There was even talk over the network of it being created on purpose to test those who enter it to seek treasures. I, on the other hand, just donʼt give it much thought. Since it happens, it happens. Anything else is of little importance.”

After walking for a while, their group was back inside the city, and Ranfal introduced a good place for Rean and Kentucky to stay. ”The service here is quite good, and above all, it is cheap. Not that the value of a three-day stay would mean much to sirs since you were able to pay for the trip. I can show you the best hotel in the city as well.”

”Oh, thatʼs where you are wrong!” Rean patted Ranfalʼs shoulder, satisfied. ”If I can save some money, then why not? Iʼve never cared about luxury.” Then he threw him a few Rank One Divine Stones, just like Klinron did.

Ranfal happily accepted the stones and bowed to Rean and Kentucky. ”Thank you, sirs.”

”Speaking of time,” Kentucky remembered something, ”how long does it take to traverse the corridor in the Warm Boats?”

”Usually, it takes between five to ten days. It will depend on the route taken. The captain will decide which one once he gets inside and assess the situation,” Ranfal answered. ”Here, take my VS number. If you are going out and need a guide in the next three days, just call me, and Iʼll be here in a flash.”

Rean nodded and took the guyʼs number before bidding farewell. He and then Kentucky entered the hotel. They rented a common room, and after Rean built a simple concealing formation in it, the two returned to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm.

”Seems like a fun place, donʼt you think?” Rean asked Roan and Sister Orb, who seemed to be working on something together.

[Sure. At least a lot more entertaining than the past few weeks.]

Roan glanced at Rean for a split second and completely ignored him after.

Rean didnʼt take it to heart, asking Sister Orb instead. ”So... what are you doing there?”

[Look to your right, and you will see...]

Rean and Kentucky did as asked, and there, they saw the Parasol Tree. She seemed to be absorbing a lot of Divine Energy from the Divine Stones, but also the Earth and Wood Elements from Roanʼs garden.

Rean and Kentucky immediately understood. ”Oh, so you already started, uh?”

Roan nodded slightly. ”A plant based cultivation technique is actually quite a challenge, but interesting at the same time. The girl and the orb are helping me narrow down the changes.”

Rean remembered something. ”By the way, how is her education going?”

[You can ask her directly.]

It had been a few months since Sister Orb started the teaching, although Rean spent most of his time outside, so he didnʼt know how it was going. Well, he could have just asked at any time, but the idea didnʼt pop up in his mind until now.

”Ask her? Can she talk already after just a few months?” Rean asked, doubting it a little.

Kentucky quickly nodded. ”You seem to have forgotten one thing. Sure, when we rescued her, it was her first time awakening. However, she is already over a thousand years old, so her mind has already grown. That made sister orbʼs job a lot easier than teaching real kids.”

”Oh...” Rean nodded, approaching the Parasol Tree. ”Hello there, Ridia. Iʼm Rean. Can you understand me?”

A Divine Sense reached Reanʼs mind. ʼYes... You are the idiot that senior Roan spoke about.ʼ

Reanʼs mouth twitched, but Roan faintly smiled. ”She has a great future ahead of her.”

Rean showed his middle finger to Roan before turning his attention back to Rean. ”Ahem... you can drop the idiot part. Have you used the gift Gian left for you already?”

Back then, Gian passed a branch of his to Ridia, which seemed to contain a lot of information that Ridia would absorb on her own.

ʼYes,ʼ Ridia confirmed. ʼI must return within a hundred years. Iʼll do my best to reach the Elemental Space Realm before that.ʼ

”Great!” Rean was happy he wouldnʼt need to convince the girl. ”Then we are settled.”

And as always, any Golden Tickets and Stones are welcome. ;)
