Death… And Me

Chapter 3355  Confidence

Looking behind them, Rifindio saw the other three groups that ended up betting on following their group. ”What about those ones?”

Herbert also took a look behind as they flew and was quite surprised that Carlo didnʼt follow the others. ”Hey, Carlo, in the end, you did wait, didnʼt you?”

”Fuck you!” Carlo cursed from a few tens of meters behind, flying on his demon beast with a few members of his sect. ”You better not disappoint me.”

Herbert shrugged and laughed. ”I donʼt know what you are talking about. If things go wrong, you can only blame yourself for following the wrong person. Hahaha!”

At the same time, he sent a Divine Sense Message to Rean and the others by touching their shoulders. ʼNow we can focus on our job.ʼ

Rean was still a little confused, even though their plan worked. ʼSo, what are we looking for exactly, Herbert? As far as I can see, it seems like we are flying randomly. This tower is enormous, so it will take a long time to cover just this first floor.ʼ

Herbert nodded. ʼIt probably will. However, donʼt be fooled by the Mist Libraryʼs form. It is of little meaning. Focus on what we are looking for, which is an amphora.ʼ

ʼAn... amphora?ʼ Rean knew those somewhat vase-like objects. Itʼs just that everywhere they passed by was completely empty. Let alone an amphora, there wasnʼt a single spec of dust inside this place.

ʼThatʼs all Iʼm certain about,ʼ Herbert confirmed. ʼAs long as we find the amphora, touching it should initiate the test. Thatʼs where a cultivation limit takes place and one where Fredʼs formations knowledge is necessary. Once again, thatʼs what we know from the records.ʼ

Kentucky couldnʼt help but ask. ʼThen, was it really a good thing to wait and drink tea? What if others find it before us?ʼ

Herbert was confident. ʼYou saw the level of all cultivators and other races that came into this place, didnʼt you? There are quite a few Void Tempering Realm experts, but they are all just assistants with no formations knowledge whatsoever. Perhaps there is one or two that know something. Yet, they would need Fredʼs ability to pass the test. I refuse to believe there is someone else with Fredʼs ability while also at the Void Tempering Realm. Thatʼs why I didnʼt mind waiting and drinking tea as well.ʼ

ʼI see...ʼ Kentucky understood the plan.

Roan also added another piece of information. ʼIf we find the amphora, and there are other groups there, at the very least, there wonʼt be as many as it would if we hadnʼt stopped to drink tea earlier.ʼ

Herbert was even more satisfied. ʼExactly!ʼ

Time passed, and they continued to fly for several hours, which began to confuse Rean. The Tower, which was a Pyramid before, was indeed enormous but not big enough that Kentucky would take hours to fly from one side to another. In fact, Kentucky should have reached the other end in just a few tens of minutes, even though he is flying a lot slower than he did outside. ”Seems like this place is also being manipulated through the Spatial Laws.”

”Hum?” Suddenly, Kentucky noticed something in the distance. It was the first chance in that dull block-like structure that he kept flying up to this point. ”Is that what we are looking for?”

*Fua!*

They ended up coming out in a much, much bigger room, and they werenʼt the only ones there.

There were another five groups waiting in the room, all looking at the center. They obviously noticed Herbertʼs arrival but didnʼt say anything and just watched. At the center of the room, the thing they had been looking for was right there. It was an amphora and a huge one, at least a few tens of meters high. From the top of it, a white mist slowly came out, filling the room with it, albeit just slightly.

”Hey, itʼs Herbert!” It was then that Zantie appeared. ”So you ended up coming here as well, uh?”

Herbert sighed, sad that Zantie also managed to find his way here. ”The same goes for you. So, what are you doing here?”

”Thatʼs my question,” Zantie looked at the amphora and then back at Herbertʼs group. ”Since you also came, that means you knew it was here, right?”

”I was just flying around randomly and ended up here,” Herbert answered, not intending to tell the truth at all. ”Care to explain what is this thing?”

Although Zantie didnʼt believe Herbert, he also didnʼt press the issue. ”I wish I had the answer for that. When we arrived, we tried to touch it, but there seemed to be some barrier preventing us from doing it. We tried to look inside from above, but that white mist made it impossible to see its contents. Trying to attack it is also meaningless. These blocks and the protection around this amphora can resist my full power as if I did nothing.”

On the inside, Herbert snorted. ʼHmph! Obviously! Your cultivation is too high, idiot! No one in this room is in the Void Tempering Realm or below, either. Thatʼs good for me since they donʼt know about the cultivation limit yet.ʼ Of course, he didnʼt say that out loud. ”I see... so there is no way to use this amphora, uh? What do you intend to do?”

”Me?” Zantie smiled. ”Iʼm going to wait. Perhaps you or someone else can find a way to use this thing.”

”So you donʼt mind if I give it a try?” Herbert asked, pretending to be surprised.

”Not at all!” Zantie shrugged it off. However, he also stayed very close to Herbert. ”Just donʼt mind my presence here, okay?”

”How could I mind such a delightful presence?” Herbert also answered that with a smile.

He then exchanged a few words with Zantie and quickly returned to the twinsʼ group and his clan members. ʼIt is not a bad thing. Only Zantie is here out of the other four bookmark owners.ʼ

ʼWhat do you want me to do?ʼ Reanʼs attention didnʼt leave the amphora. Yet, Herbert looked at Roan, having thought about another plan similar to what Roan did a while ago. ʼDo you think it would work again?ʼ

Roan knew what he was planning. ʼYou want to give a few tries, but you wonʼt let Rean or any of us touch the amphora. Then, you want us to leave this place and return later, hopping that once we return, Zantie already left, right?ʼ

ʼExactly!ʼ Herbert didnʼt hide his intentions.

Roan pondered a bit. If they simply left after a while, that would definitely cause Zantie to have some doubts about whether to stay here or not. On the other hand, the other bookmark owners might end up stumbling into this place, and the number of nuisances would only grow instead. ʼDo we truly need to wait? If Fred touches the amphora, can anyone stop him?ʼ

ʼIʼm not sure,ʼ Herbert answered straight away. ʼAlso, Iʼm not going to lie; Iʼm not sure about what kind of test he will receive either. If might be dangerous.ʼ

Roan nodded, glancing at Rean. In the end, it was Reanʼs decision, so he asked him through their connection. ʼWhat do you want to do?ʼ

Rean was thinking about that already. ʼTo be honest, I might as well just get over with it. In the worst-case scenario, we have already collected a huge amount of Starlight Crystals, and that should last us an entire cultivation realm. We can look for another source later. The only problem is that we arenʼt strong enough to deal with Space-Time Realm experts, especially those in the Peak Stage like Zantie and Herbert.ʼ

ʼNo point bothering about it now since Herbert is sticking with us,ʼ Roan commented. ʼJust go for it then.ʼ

Finally, Rean stepped forward, patting Herbertʼs shoulder. ʼHerbert, how confident you are against Zantie?ʼ

ʼHmph!ʼ Herbert snorted. ʼIf it is just him, then Iʼm confident I can at least hold my ground, and my clan members can take care of the other members of his group. Why?ʼ

ʼThen forget about leaving this place to lure him off. It would be terrible if Xesht and the others end up finding this place as well later. Well, no one said there is only one amphora, so maybe they already found one,ʼ Rean explained. ʼAnyway, since you are that confident, Iʼm going ahead and touch the amphora. Letʼs see what will come out of it.ʼ
