Death… And Me

Chapter 3354  The Waiting Plan

”Te...Tea...?” Herbertʼs mouth twitched. They are in the Mist Library! They can finally find the secret behind the centurionsʼ powers. And yet, Roan is here, brewing some tea. That wasnʼt all. Rean, Rifindio, and Kentucky were all sitting at the table, leisurely waiting for Roan.

It goes without saying that those looking from above and the few who entered by foot all looked at that with as much bewilderment as Herbert and his clan members. Is this truly a place to make tea? Why would he do that?

Roan completely ignored everyone and continued brewing his tea before he finally began to distribute it. ”Careful. Itʼs hot.”

”Thanks...” Rifindio took some, and so did Rean and Kentucky. Roan also poured some for Herbert, who didnʼt know what to do. It was then that Roan patted Herbertʼs shoulder, sending his Divine Sense through the touch to talk to the man. ʼLook at all of those following us. It seems like no one knows where to go. Thus, they are all following the bookmark owners.ʼ

ʼHowever,ʼ Roan continued. ʼThat also applies to Xesht and the other three. They arenʼt getting away from each other or from us, afraid that some of us know something they donʼt. In this manner, we are all moving together without saying anything. For what? We donʼt need all of those experts on our tail. That said, letʼs stop and drink some tea. I want to see how long everyone will be able to hold themselves back and wait for us to move.ʼ

Herbert finally understood Roanʼs plan. Indeed, that was a very simple yet extremely efficient way to get rid of all of those demon beasts, spirits, and humanoids. The rewards that await them could determine their future in the cultivation world, so how long can they truly wait here?ʼ

ʼBut...ʼ Herbert answered. ʼThat also applies to us, doesnʼt it?ʼ

At that moment, Herbert noticed the mistake of his words. ʼIʼm an idiot...ʼ

Right after, he sat down, waved to his clan members, and smiled at them. ”All of you, sit down as well.”

*Sip...*

Herbert drank a little bit of the tea and had to admit it was truly marvelous. ”Such a great tea. Would you mind serving a little for my clan members as well?”

Roan nodded. ”Yes, but donʼt ask for much more than that. These tea leaves are hard to grow.”

Why did Herbert think he was an idiot? Because he forgot about the cultivation limit to proceed in the Mist Library for a moment. He doesnʼt know where exactly it will be required since he doesnʼt know where to go. But, at the same time, no one else seems to do either. Since thatʼs the case, he can simply wait for everyone to go away.

The twinsʼ group enjoyed their tee under the scrutiny of all the other groupsʼ eyes. At some point, someone finally got tired of that. ”What the hell are you even doing? How long are you going to keep us waiting?”

Herbert, who was leisurely enjoying his tea with the others, glanced at the guy. he recognized him. ”Carlo, Carlo, Carlo... thatʼs not the way a Sect Master should act, right? You need to control your temper.” Carloʼs mouth twitched, just like Herbertʼs earlier. ”Stop speaking bullshit!”

Herbert took another sip of his tea, looking at him before his eyes scanned everyone else in that location. ”Just so you all know, Iʼm not holding any of you back. Since when did I say that as long as Iʼm drinking tea, no one can proceed with the exploration of the Mist Library? Iʼll be blunt here. You are all waiting in this place because you want to. I have absolutely nothing to do with it. If you want to wait, then wait. If you want to go ahead, by all means, be my guest. Now, donʼt bother me or the members of my group.”

Everyone was speechless. They were waiting exactly because they didnʼt know where to go. Of course, they soon noticed Herbert was doing that on purpose. He was waiting to see how long they would truly wait, including the other bookmark owners.

”Hmph!” Then, the first bookmark owner lost his patience, Xesht. ”Letʼs go!”

Without thinking twice, he ordered their flying beast companion to continue forward, ignoring Herbert and everyone else.

That immediately made the other groups, regardless if they had bookmarks or not, fall into a dilemma. Should they follow Xesht? Should they wait for Herbert to move? Which one of them really knew what they were doing? What if neither of them did?

*Zush, zush, zush...*

It didnʼt take long for a bunch of the groups to fly after Xesht. In the end, Xesht was part of the Qediya Royal Family, which controls the entire continent. They simply thought their chances would be better with him.

Samalia was the next one, although she didnʼt insist on sticking together anymore. If she followed Xesht, she would leave Herbert. If she stayed with Herbert, she would lose Xesht. Why should she be forced to follow the whims of these men? She turned in a different direction, selected another passage, and left as well. Another bunch quickly followed after her.

Zantie and Kalamdra were the next ones. Xesht and Samalia had already left. What if one of the two found the secrets of the Mist Library before them? One thing was certain. If they waited here with Herbertʼs group, they definitely wouldnʼt find anything.

In the end, with the various groups separating and the bookmark owners going in different directions, only a few remained behind. Naturally, the twinsʼ group was one of them.

Seeing most of the experts were gone, Roan got up, sent all his things back into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, and looked behind. There, three groups remained, three groups that decided to risk it all and stick together with Herbertʼs group. ʼI guess this is enough.ʼ

Herbert also noticed that and smiled with satisfaction. ”Now, this is a lot better. Letʼs take a different path from the others. I donʼt know exactly where to go anyway, so any other path is valid.”

With Roanʼs plansʼ success, their group once again restarted their journey, now in much smaller numbers.
