Death… And Me

Chapter 3232: Thatʼs Your Decision

Those formations were not something Duere was aware of. Those were all blueprints from the Abyssal Soul itself, and they were highly advanced. By taking the information in the station Duere brought with him, the Abyssal Soul concocted the plan to free itself.

”According to Duereʼs memories, the Abyssal Soul needed a huge amount of energy, spatial power, and time power to be able to increase that Purple Space Crack gap. This is not the Divine Realm; there is pretty much no Divine Energy here other than the Divine Stones Duere brought with him. Duere might have a big talent and bloodline, but it wasnʼt like he was rich. The Divine Stones in his possession were far, far, far from enough.”

”He also couldnʼt go back to the Divine Realm since the Abyssal Soul would lose contact with its Soul Shard. Requesting more Divine Stones from the Supreme Palace was also out of the question. With the amount the Abyssal Soul needed, there was absolutely no way the Supreme Palace wouldnʼt take notice.”

”In the end, the only possible solution was to gather as much Spiritual Energy as possible to make up for the lack of Divine Energy. He would need thousands of times more Spiritual Energy, which would only be possible if you put all the Spiritual Energy of the Solar Systemʼs planets together, and even that might still not be enough.”

”Thus, the other part of the plan. Gather all Transition Realm Experts of the Solar System during the Divine Werdlem Stone Contest. With the tremendous amount of Spiritual Energy in their Dantians and Cores, the formations would get an extra boost, making it more likely for the plan to succeed.”

”Everyone present in Closal during the activation of the formations would have their Spiritual Energies drained dry. Of course, things didnʼt go according to plan. The Divine Werdlem Stones that Karev took were also part of the whole system that controlled the formations. They were used as regulators. When he took them, everything went out of the rails, and the Abyssal Soul was forced to initiate the plan before the planets aligned.”

”There was no way back anymore. If it didnʼt try to do it now, the formations would eventually collapse. Above all, the Inquisition Hall Leaders were already questioning Duereʼs Motives nonstop. They were helping construct the formations, and a huge amount of resources were being used. Thousands of yearsʼ worth of resources had gone into them. If the formations failed and broke, the Abyssal Soul wouldnʼt have anywhere else to gather more of them.”

”The formations were activated, and everyone around the planet began to feel their Spiritual Energies being taken away. At the same time, the still-not-aligned planets began to send more and more Spiritual Energy, putting more stress on the formations that had lost their Divine Werdlem Stone regulators. Finishing the job before everyone went down was a must.” ”From there onwards, you already know,” Rean said. ”The Abyssal Soul tried to gather the Transition Realm expert near the main formation, killing them here and gathering their Spiritual Energies. Doing so during battle was the best since the experts would spend their Spiritual Energies on their own.”

Zangeshu understood. ”So you were right in the end. Normally, you wouldnʼt need to cause any conflict. The formations would drain everyone of their Spiritual Energy reserves, and Duere could simply block everyoneʼs ability to use Spiritual Energy so no one could retaliate. Everyone would be helpless as they saw their Spiritual Energy disappearing, together with their cultivations.”

”However, such a method would take much more than just 24 hours. It probably would take weeks, and the formations themselves, having lost their Divine Werdlem Stone Regulators, especially after Karev attacked the core, wouldnʼt last that long. Making them fight at the station was the best scenario for the Abyssal Soul.”

”Exactly,” Rean nodded, happy to see Zangeshuʼs improvement.

Rifindio couldnʼt help but sigh. ”So Duere was simply unlucky. He came to get rid of me and ended up perishing on his own. Somehow, I donʼt feel happy with this outcome.”

Rean shrugged in response. ”Well, it is like I said, in a twisted way, Duere seemed to believe in your abilities. Perhaps thatʼs the reason. You wouldnʼt really put so much effort into eliminating someone you truly thought to be nothing but trash. In any case, this concludes everything I was able to get from Duereʼs memories. If I tried to extract anything more, Duereʼs Soul wouldnʼt resist it, and it would be destroyed instead of being sent to the underworld.”

[Rean, Roan] Sister Orb called their attention. [What will you do with the people you gathered now?]

Rean smiled, waving his hand. Immediately, Clansto and Tiaba appeared in front of him. He did not bring Jue and his girlfriend, though. Those two were still pretty much in the dark about many of the things happening, and Rean didnʼt intend to tell them much since he didnʼt trust them as much as he did his two fake parents. ”Hey there, guys.”

Rean didnʼt leave them out of what was happening. Until now, they had been waiting to hear about the outcome of the changes in the world. ”Rean, Roan, is everything over?”

The twins nodded. ”Yes. A bunch of crazy and ridiculous circumstances created an opportunity where it would be possible to prevent the world from being used as a sacrifice. Fortunately, our group managed to take the device that controlled all the formations and we destroyed it. All the formations have now collapsed or are in process of doing so.”

Tiabaʼs eyes got teary. ”So we donʼt need to flee from our home...?”

”Yes,” Rean nodded as he patted the old womanʼs shoulder. ”However, my offer still stands. If you two wish to go to the Divine Realm, you just need to stay here. Roan and I will eventually get there. Itʼs just that once we get there, you will be on your own. It is up to you. As for what you will do about your son and his girlfriend, thatʼs also your decision.”
