Death… And Me

Chapter 3227: Crushing

Reanʼs Light Element invaded that mangled dual soul, pulling Roanʼs Dark Element with it and using its corrosive properties to create gaps between the Abyssal Soul Shard and Duereʼs real soul. Obviously, that was causing terrible damage to Duereʼs Soul, but there wasnʼt anything Rean could do about it.

The best Rean could do was get Duereʼs Soul Free, allowing it to enter the cycle of reincarnation. As for saving Duere, that option has been out of the question since the very

start.

Reanʼs Light Element quickly got a hold of the struggling Abyssal Soul Shard as it slowly separated from Duereʼs Soul. He also made sure it couldnʼt attach itself back to Duereʼs Soul, giving it zero mobility. While all that happened, Rean had to keep his Spiritual Energy and Light Element flowing into Duereʼs head to keep it alive momentarily.

Finally, Rean unmade the mangling between the two souls, pulling the Abyssal Soul away from Duereʼs soul.

*Gh...*

The severed huge Camaztoz Bat seemed to grit its teeth in pain. It wasnʼt a pain due to the injury in its neck, but the soul instead. For a short moment, Duere opened his eyes, although he couldnʼt talk due to the lack of lungs to generate air.

Duere then caught sight of Rifindio not too far away from there. Rifindio had a different appearance and Aura, thanks to Roanʼs pills. However, Duere was sure about it. That was definitely Rifindio. Perhaps he could still feel the Camazotz Bloodline presence, even in that state. Right after, Duereʼs feeble Divine Sense spread out of his head, delivering one last message.

ʼIf just you hadnʼt come here...ʼ

Rifindio was taken aback, not understanding how this outcome could be his fault. ʼWhat are you talking about?ʼ

However, Duereʼs soul, which was already in its last moments, finally couldnʼt be sustained by Reanʼs Light Element and Spiritual Energy anymore. It began to dissipate, and the twins saw how it was being dragged into the void. No doubt it was being sent to the Underworld, just like any other soul in the Lisan Universe.

Rean sighed for a moment and threw Duereʼs head in Rifindioʼs direction, easily avoiding the Spatial Rifts around the area. ʼI managed to read his memories. In a certain way, you could say his outcome has something to do with you. Donʼt worry, though. In the end, it was all his fault. Iʼll explain to you later.ʼ

Rifindio was obviously curious about that. ʼOkay.ʼ

Rean and Roan then looked at the struggling Abyssal Soul Shard in their hands. It kept trying to get free. To be more specific, it was trying to run in the direction of the crack where all the Chaos Energy came from. That crack with a purple light inside was pretty much closed already.

”Hmph! Do you think we will let you go that easily?” Roan snorted. He wanted to try and read that Abyssal Soulʼs memories as well.

*Bzzz!*

Suddenly, that crack with a purple light inside acted again. Another burst of Chaos Energy came out, reaching the Abyssal Soul Shard in a split second. Even Rean, Roan, and Kentucky failed to react in time before that concentration of Chaos Energy entered the Abyssal Soul Shard.

”Shit! It will try to escape!” Roan complained, and the twins used their merged bodies and remaining energy to try to hold the shard back.

Yet, things didnʼt play as the twinsʼ group expected. ʼHmph! Who said Iʼd escape?ʼ A message reached the twinsʼ minds, and the Abyssal Soul Shard used that last amount of Chaos Energy to free itself from the twinsʼ grasp. Then, it shot into Rean and Roanʼs forehead! ʼSince that body was useless, I might as well use this body of yours instead. You donʼt have the proper bloodline, but I will make it work.ʼ

Rean and Roan were indeed late to avoid that attack. However, there wasnʼt the least bit of worry on their merged body face. Instead, nothing but mockery could be seen there. ʼWhat an idiot...ʼ

*Pin!*

[Soul Invasion Detected.]

Sure enough, the ultimate soul protection device immediately sprung to life. The Celestial Soul System would never allow any being in the Great Void to cause any trouble in the twinsʼ souls.

ʼWHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!ʼ

[Isolating threat... completed.]

ʼNOOOO! Let me go! I demand you let me go!ʼ The Abyssal Soul Shard struggled with all its might, using every bit of its reserves of Chaos Energy. Yet, in the Celestial Soul Systemʼs field, not even a thousand times that amount would be enough to succeed.

[Abyssal Soul Shard has been restrained. Eliminate threat?]

The system ended with a question. It could immediately destroy the Abyssal Soul Shard, but the decision would be ultimately up to Rean and Roan.

ʼNo.ʼ Naturally, the twins refused the idea. They still wanted to get more information from it.

[Order received.]

*Bzzz!*

The twinsʼ then felt a jolt in their souls, and the Abyssal Soul Shard immediately went quiet. The system had made it go unconscious! In the next second, the system sent it into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. With it unconscious, it couldnʼt fight back against the pull. Finally, it was left floating in the Dimensional Realm, just waiting for the twins to do whatever they wanted with it.

*Zuuup...*

As for the Purple Crack in Space, it immediately closed right after. With that last burst of Chaos Energy, which was much smaller than when it helped Duere, seemed to lose all its power. Whatever was keeping it open was now gone.

*Clack... Plin!*

In the next moment, a crack of Light and Dark Light appeared on Rean and Roanʼs fused body. A burst of Spiritual Energy and Elements followed, and the twins returned to their original separated forms. Naturally, so did their cultivations, stabilizing back in the Peak Stage of the Transition Realm.

”I truly hate this shit!” Roan commented with a dark expression.

”So do I,” Rean agreed with him.

Rean then opened his hand, and there, a blue crystal with countless micro Circuitry Formation Runes could be seen. ”So this is the ultimate item that controls everything, uh?”

*Smash!*

Without thinking twice, Rean crushed the device.
