The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2844: Chapter 2844: Who Are You? (4)

Even though everyone guessed from the fact that Grandpa Ping was a eunuch that this Uncle Qi was of considerable status, nobody felt uncomfortable; a guest is a guest.

Moreover, if such important figures were residing in their village, it meant their village was truly remarkable, like a blessed place.

That day, there was only one class in the afternoon at the school, and after school, the children all ran back home in a swarm.

However, Lun Dou and Huang Dou weren’t in a hurry; the two held hands as they walked out of the school.

Even though they were triplets with Hei Dou, they never walked with their brother because they weren’t good at studying. Unlike their brother, who was quite remarkable, he had already passed the scholar examination this year. It’s said he’s the youngest scholar in the entire Great Xuan Dynasty, directly surpassing their father’s achievement at seven years old, so they weren’t even in the same class.

He’s probably still practicing calligraphy now.

The two little girls didn’t return home but went to the riverside instead.

The weather was getting hotter, and playing by the water was more comfortable, especially since willows lined both banks of the Xiaocang River, providing shade even at noon.

”Wanru, I’ve heard there’s treasure in the Dacang Mountain,” Lun Dou said, sitting on a green stone slab, her feet dangling and splashing water.

”But there are also many monsters and fierce beasts in there,” Huang Dou said, splashing water as well.

”But isn’t Xiaobai the prince of the mountain?” Lun Dou laughed. ”If we follow him, we’ll be fine, and there’s also Xiaojin and Xiaojin Junior.”

Xiaobai was Xiaobai’s son, and Xiaojin Junior was Xiaojin’s son.

As for who their mothers were, nobody knew. But one day last year, Xiaobai carried Xiaobai Junior to the Yang Family, while Xiaojin brought a totally black but golden-headed Xiaojin Junior along.

It’s said Xiaojin Junior’s poison is more potent than his father’s and grandparents’.

”But Wangshu, our parents wouldn’t agree,” Huang Dou turned to look at her sister, who was born a little earlier, ”If we sneak off, our parents would worry.” She paused, ”Our teachers wouldn’t agree either.”

Lun Dou sighed, visibly disappointed. Well, they were still young, after all.

After a moment of silence, Lun Dou stood up and put on her shoes, ”We won’t go up the mountain, but we can wander around its base. Maybe we can find some herbs; mom loves herbs.”

Huang Dou followed suit, ”Sure.” As long as they didn’t go up the mountain, their parents and teachers wouldn’t worry.

The two girls held hands and ventured toward the foot of the mountain.

At that moment, Xiaocang Mountain was lush with greenery; the wasteland at the foot near the village had long been cultivated, mostly with herbs.

The two little girls ventured further back.

”There’s someone there,” Huang Dou pointed to the grove on the hillside.

Lun Dou looked over and indeed saw a corner of clothing, ”Let’s go have a look.”

”But...”

”No buts, we’re just looking.”

”Alright.” Huang Dou agreed.

The two little girls ran together toward the grove over there; however, upon arriving at the foot of the mountain, they showed awareness of danger and knew to hide and advance alternately.

In the grove, a woman was lying behind a tree, staring down at the village with eyes full of malice. She was about to step down for a closer look but noticed someone approaching and quickly hid behind the tree. Then she realized it was just two little girls aged five or six, so she didn’t bother to hide anymore.

”Who are you?” Lun Dou tilted her head and looked at the woman.
