The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2837: Chapter 2837: No Comparison (1)

”There’s no need to be so polite, let’s agree on this then.” Yang Ruxin suddenly leaned in and lowered her voice, ”I also brought you two jars of medicinal wine, I left them with Eunuch Shui, be sure to drink them.”

”Thank you, madam.” Ping Eunuch grinned widely.

Yang Ruxin waved her hand and walked out, while Ping Eunuch returned to the main hall.

Emperor Xuanjing glanced at Ping Eunuch, ”Ping Shun, why do I feel that girl treats you better than she treats me?”

Ping Shun hurriedly knelt down, ”Emperor, the madam is kind to me because I’m serving beside you. She’s just reminding me to serve you diligently.”

”What did she give you?”

”This...”

”Hmm?”

”Two jars of medicinal wine.”

”Give me one of them.”

”Oh.” Ping Eunuch responded helplessly.

”Rise.” Emperor Xuanjing chuckled, ”I wasn’t angry with you at all.”

Ping Eunuch stood up, thinking internally, ”You weren’t angry? The jealousy in the air was almost suffocating, and you still took one of my jars of wine. Aren’t you the emperor? Isn’t that embarrassing?”

”Do you think I am really getting old?”

”Emperor, you are in your prime!”

”Enough.” Emperor Xuanjing waved off the flattery, ”I just enjoy talking to that girl. She’s straightforward; if it’s true, it’s true, if it’s not, it’s not, it’s refreshing to hear.”

Ping Eunuch kept his head down, smirking, ”Refreshing, huh? It depends on the person. Madam Ruyi has caught your eye, her medical skills are high, so you find it refreshing. If someone else told you, ’Emperor, step down,’ their grave would have weeds growing on it by now.”

”Alright, go summon the old fellows of the Cabinet.”

Ping Eunuch acknowledged, turned around, and went out to convey the orders.

Just as Yang Ruxin stepped out of the palace, she ran into Qi Jingyun.

”Aren’t you supposed to go to your fief? Why haven’t you left?” Yang Ruxin looked at the approaching man and smiled. After Qi Jingyi and Qi Jingrong married, they were to go to their fief within a year, and wouldn’t return to the capital unless summoned.

”I haven’t established a consort, so I don’t need to go to the fief.” Qi Jingyun smiled.

”Are you planning to be a bachelor for life?” Yang Ruxin frowned, then shook her head, ”That’s not right, you have several women in your inner court and even a son, so you won’t be a bachelor. But tell me, isn’t it just a title, why keep it empty?”

Qi Jingyun remained silent, a complex expression in his eyes, and after a while, he spoke, ”How is Father Emperor’s health?”

”Overworked.” Yang Ruxin sighed, ”Chronic fatigue, nothing serious now, but if this continues, he’ll be dead from overwork within three years.”

”That kind of talk could get you beheaded.”

”Are you implying that the Emperor is Duke Huan of Qi?” Yang Ruxin raised an eyebrow slightly. The story of Bian Que meeting Duke Huan of Qi was known by literate people of this era.

Qi Jingyun frowned, then suddenly laughed, ”I never said you were Bian Que.”

Yang Ruxin scoffed, ”My medical skills are better than his.” Bian Que relied on genuine skill, she relied on external aid, it’s a different nature, so no real comparison.

”I think so too,” Qi Jingyun nodded.

”Qi Jingyun, as a friend, I’ll say this one last time: that throne is truly tiring.” Yang Ruxin spoke with some earnestness, ”If you ever figure it out, you’re welcome to settle in our village, we’ll be neighbors, and I’ll introduce you to a village girl.” She then brightened up, spotting a certain man strolling in the distance, and waved, ”See you.” She dashed off toward him.
