The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2836: Chapter 2836: Overworked (5)

”Right over there.” Yang Rusong pointed to the big tree nearby, ”I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, I was just worried Aunt would come and cause a scene.”

Yang Ruxin nodded: ”You’re thoughtful.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll support the Yang Family in the future.”

Yang Ruxin raised her hand and patted Yang Rusong’s shoulder: ”I trust you.”

Although Yang Baihe wasn’t very favored, her wedding was quite a sensation. After all, it’s been a longstanding issue, contributing plenty of gossip for the entire village. Now she’s finally going to cause trouble elsewhere, so the whole village came to see her off.

Jiang Dayong was rather surprised, not expecting his wife to be so well-liked. Maybe this could change his luck.

After getting married, Yang Baihe seemed to be doing quite well. When she returned three days later, she brought many gifts for Old Yang and took a couple of turns at Ma Laiwang’s door, but the couple wasn’t home so she didn’t see them.

In November, both Qi Jingyi and Qi Jingrong married princesses, so Yang Ruxin and Gu Qingheng went to Beijing.

After the wedding, they were supposed to return quickly, but the Emperor unexpectedly fell ill.

Yang Ruxin had to enter the palace to diagnose the Emperor’s condition, which turned out not to be a serious illness. It was mostly due to overwork, excessive worry, leading to insomnia, memory loss, and no appetite.

In fact, the Emperor had a big heart. Otherwise, being betrayed by his son and his wife—anyone else would find it unbearable.

”How long can I live?” Emperor Xuanjing looked at Yang Ruxin and sighed, ”Just tell me the truth, I’ve been dreaming of the former emperor these days.”

”Emperor, that’s a tough question to answer.” Yang Ruxin looked troubled.

”Speak freely, whatever you say today, you’re forgiven.”

”Then I’ll go ahead and say it.” Yang Ruxin tugged at her mouth, ”Actually, Emperor, you’re just exhausted, overworked. You can call it an illness and it could be severe, but you can also say it’s not really an illness at all.”

”What exactly are you trying to say, girl?”

”I’m saying that if the Emperor spends his time strolling around, eating, drinking, and doing what he enjoys, given your constitution, I wouldn’t say a hundred years, but living into your eighties or nineties would be easy. However, if you continue to overwork, get angry, and lose sleep, then who knows? Historically, people have died from exhaustion.”

Emperor Xuanjing’s face immediately darkened.

”Emperor, you asked me to speak frankly.”

Emperor Xuanjing took a deep breath: ”Fine, I won’t blame you.”

”Then I shall take my leave.” Yang Ruxin bowed, ready to leave. Being near an emperor is like being near a tiger, she’s considered lucky so far.

”Let me think about it.” Emperor Xuanjing suddenly spoke.

”Huh?” Yang Ruxin was stunned.

”The Crown Prince is already capable of handling tasks on his own.” Emperor Xuanjing looked at Yang Ruxin with wide eyes, ”It’s time for me to rest.”

”That’s the spirit.” Yang Ruxin immediately slapped her thigh, then suddenly realized her action was inappropriate, and quickly bowed deeply, ”Emperor, you’re wise.”

Emperor Xuanjing immediately burst out laughing, then waved his hand to let her go.

Outside Chengqian Palace, Eunuch Ping gave Yang Ruxin a thumbs up.

”Eunuch Ping, if you ever retire from the palace, I’ll prepare a small residence for you,” Yang Ruxin raised her eyebrows slightly, ”You can have anything you want to eat.”

”Well, thank you, madam.” Eunuch Ping grinned broadly, even though he knew he wasn’t fortunate enough. The Emperor wouldn’t release him, but it’s rare that she even has the thought.
