The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2597: Chapter 2597: Hold Me Tight (Part 4)

Wu Zhaoyao confirmed that there was no one around before entering the carriage, staring straight at Jiang Fangfei’s sweet sleeping face, unable to hide the tenderness in his eyes. But soon, he restrained his emotions and waved a small bottle under Jiang Fangfei’s nose.

Soon, Jiang Fangfei’s eyelashes fluttered, and her eyes opened. When she met Wu Zhaoyao’s gaze, there was a moment of bewilderment, but she quickly sat up straight, glanced at Doukou who was still asleep opposite her, and furrowed her brows, ”Commander Wu, what do you mean by this?” Her heart, however, was pounding fiercely.

At this moment, Wu Zhaoyao had already gotten off the carriage and was standing outside the window, ”Forgive me, Your Highness, I just wanted to say a few words to you.”

”Why should I listen to you?” Jiang Fangfei inexplicably felt a bit annoyed.

Wu Zhaoyao was not a man skilled in eloquence. Taking these actions required all the courage he could muster, and now that courage was waning. After a long pause, he finally let out a breath, ”It is my fault. I will send Your Highness back to the Palace immediately.”

”You...” Jiang Fangfei was at a loss for words, so she simply pushed the window open, ”Wu Zhaoyao, at your age, why are you so hesitant?”

Wu Zhaoyao was even more unsure of how to respond; indeed, he was quite old.

Jiang Fangfei was infuriated, promptly jumped down from the carriage, stood in front of him, and looked up at him, ”Wu Zhaoyao, what on earth do you want?”

Wu Zhaoyao instinctively stepped back two paces, ”Your Highness...” He hesitated, then suddenly raised his eyes to stare directly at her, ”I want to tell you, Your Highness, that even if you go for the marriage alliance... do not be afraid, I will accompany the princess and protect her for life.”

Jiang Fangfei just stared at him, opening her mouth, but her eyes were already red, ”What makes you think you can tell me not to be afraid? How can you protect me for life?”

”I...”

Jiang Fangfei suddenly moved forward, hugged his waist tightly, and buried her face in his chest, ”Wu Zhaoyao, do you know this is treason? You should face execution and the extermination of your entire clan.”

Wu Zhaoyao’s body remained rigid, his hands half-raised, ”Your Highness, I have no clan. My parents died long ago, my family is only me, and my life always belongs to Your Highness.”

”Hold me.”

Wu Zhaoyao slowly placed his hands on Jiang Fangfei’s back, unconsciously applying more strength.

”Wu Zhaoyao, you are twenty-two this year, aren’t you?”

Jiang Fangfei spoke in a muffled voice, nestled in his arms.

”Yes, I was born in the first half of the year, I suppose I’m twenty-three now.”

”I’m fifteen this year, we’re eight years apart.” Jiang Fangfei chuckled, ”I’m about to get married, and you’re at such an age, you should be starting a family too.”

Wu Zhaoyao remained silent.

”Wu Zhaoyao, find a good girl to marry, then have her give you a big, healthy son.” As Jiang Fangfei spoke, tears welled up again.

Wu Zhaoyao continued in silence.

”Alright, take me back to the Palace.” Jiang Fangfei said as she released him and quickly slipped back into the carriage.

Wu Zhaoyao stood there, the faint fragrance still lingering in his nose. He closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them, ”Your Highness, I will not marry the good girl you mentioned. I will accompany you wherever you go.” After speaking, he climbed onto the driver’s seat and hurriedly drove the carriage towards the Palace.

Inside the carriage, Jiang Fangfei’s face was once again awash with tears.
