The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1918: Chapter 1918: Flirting (Part 1)

The reason for wanting to involve the Empress Dowager is because in the entire Great Xuan Dynasty, there’s probably no one with a higher status than that old lady. Don’t be fooled by her usual indifference, only chanting sutras and praying to Buddha. The Emperor is very filial to her, as long as it’s nothing outrageous, he’ll go along with whatever his mother says.

Moreover, the old lady is also a righteous person. At least, the Jiang Family hasn’t produced any detestable wastrels, which indicates a good family culture. Therefore, having her as a partner is more powerful than any Prince.

If successful, then she would be connected with the Crown Prince, Prince Yun, Prince Han, the Emperor, and the Empress Dowager. So no matter where there’s trouble, she’d have a way out.

Of course, she wasn’t afraid of being labeled greedy, after all, she’s a farmer’s daughter, a merchant. It’s entirely normal to value profit. Anyone who can make money, she’d work with them. Such a person is least likely to get entangled in politics.

The menstruation lessened after three days, so moving around wasn’t so uncomfortable either. It was time for her to enter the palace and perform Xie En.

Yesterday, the ceremonial dress and headpiece for the third-rank Madam Ruyi were delivered, gleaming with gold, clearly valuable at a glance.

However, the result of being valuable was that it was very heavy. Once worn, she felt as if she gained an extra ten pounds.

”I really suspect if the headdresses of the Empress and the Empress Dowager could be even heavier.” Yang Ruxin shook her head slightly, ”If you wear the entire set, anyone with a slightly thin neck could have it broken from the weight.”

”Haha.” Gu Qingheng laughed, ”Stop complaining. Many women rack their brains trying to bear such headpieces.”

”I was just saying.” Yang Ruxin cast a sideways glance at Gu Qingheng, ”Am I of a higher rank than you?”

”Yes.”

”So what?”

”This humble servant meets Madam Ruyi, wishing Madam Ruyi peace.” Gu Qingheng immediately knelt on one knee, ”I am willing to serve diligently in all aspects, be it on or off the bed.”

”You...” Yang Ruxin initially thought it was quite serious, but how come the latter part sounded so off? On or off the bed? Can’t there be other pursuits?

”Madam, is there something wrong?” Gu Qingheng looked up at Yang Ruxin with a serious expression.

”No, it’s quite right.” Yang Ruxin rolled her eyes and then pinched Gu Qingheng’s face, ”You better serve well. If not, I’ll kick you out...”

”This general will spare no effort, even if it means working himself to exhaustion...”

”Cough cough...” Yang Ruxin couldn’t hold it in anymore. This man, usually so handsome like a painted portrait, giving the impression of otherworldliness, was actually deeply and secretly flirtatious. See, he started flirting whenever he had the chance, nearly making her lose her composure despite her experience.

A hint of slyness flashed in Gu Qingheng’s eyes.

Having been to the palace before, entering again was no longer unfamiliar. Moreover, Yang Ruxin’s status was now different from before. Not only was she the rightful third-rank Madam Ruyi, but she also had a token given by the Emperor, a pass to enter the palace at any time. So, she easily made her way through the palace gates.

Yet to Yang Ruxin’s surprise, this time Xie En was to be performed in the Jinluan Hall, meaning she would express her gratitude in the court, in front of all civil and military officials.

”Am I really suitable for the court?” Gazing at the tall steps in front of her, to be honest, Yang Ruxin was somewhat nervous and couldn’t help but glance at the eunuch who had come to receive her.
